      It was quite busy when we went, I think because most indoor places were closed and so outdoor space was at a premium. Still it did spoil it as the grounds are huge so you can find quiet spots.

      Thanks Gill. That's very humbling. It is a fascinating place and I am not really a historian, just did some research on its past and I learnt a lot before passing it on in the video. I think it's always nice to learn a bit about a place you are visiting. Seen too many YT videos that have great shots but don't tell you anything. Wonderful to actually see Hever, I've read so much about it, and now have a real ambition to see it, in person. I was surprised to learn the Astor family still owned the estate as late as 1983; but then, I'm an American, I associate the Astors with the history of my own country, and tend to forget there's a family line in England, too. Thanks for this peek at the castle and its beautiful grounds. EDIT: I just learned there are now more Astor descendants living in the U.K. than here in the U.S.!

    Had no idea there was so much going on at Hever Castle. Another excellent presentation, we are so impressed by such a professional presentation. Funny, when you showed an overview of the grounds and all the pick nick benches I said I'm sure that can't be a NT property, as there would be only 3- seats if you were lucky!! It was lovely to note all the benches for enjoying such a great day out. I even learnt some things about poor Anne that I didn't know before. (My only slight gripe was I found the music a little competitive in this one!)

      @MemorySeekers  Před 2 lety +2

My husband was very impressed do appreciate the less-is-more so far as background music goes. On one you had gulls going over which sounded as if they were in my garden - which they weren't but that was great! (If I was a betting woman I could have made out with that NT assumption!! I don't understand the lack of benches, unless people nick them?!!) He-he! Have a great Sunday.

    I came across Anne Boleyn cottage on the way to Hampton palace opposite of the road, it was occupied (the door was slam shut when I was trying to take photo that is how I know 😂) was wondering if you knew the story of the house and how come it is occupied? Will watch this video now, cannot wait to see. Thanks in advance.

    I would prefer that your (glorious) back ground music, was not so loud. The more I tried to hear the narration, the more the music muffled the speaker. That being said.. It was an historical and beautiful video. Thank you

    When you say it looked very different from when Anne B. lived there what was different. I know all the gardens were done by Astor because Boleyn had only modest gardens
