As someone who is beginning to get into casting rods and reels I would love to see a video on breaking these reels down cleaning, greasing ,and oiling them along with what to use to do it

I like the reels but I love the rod. I'll spend some money on the rods for sure.
I got a Piscifun Torrent rod too except mine is a 6'8" Medium. I use it for jerkbaits!!! Great price too!
How do you like it? I think it would be a little stiff for jerkbaits but the 6'8" might be better.
@@BassGeek its got a moderate fast tip. I like it for topwater spooks and frogs too.

I got a torrent, and a Persus reel. I like the torrent, not so much the persus. I got the torrent on a lews, gonna get that rod now. Great video brother.
Brian Hulse That’s funny I have the Persus and I like it more than the Torrent. But I do have it on a smaller swimbait Ledge fishing setup. It’s a bigger reel I think that’s why most don’t like it. It’s really a reel you’re going to make long casts and reel the bait back.
hey I got the torrent on a new Lew's 2020 Mach rod 7.0 med ..mod fast action love it so far I had it on a Abu Garcia vengeance 7.0 med heavy before loved it to
I have this rod with a abu black Max reel and love the combination. The rod has really held up and I really like the action . It's definitely a solid fishing rod for the price . And it really does feel nice in the hand i also like how sensitive it is .
So when this old video came out they where having all kinds of issues with guides and rods breaking. Hopefully by now (6-7 years later) the figured it out.
@@BassGeek that's good to know I'll keep an eye out for that . I fish 3 to 4 days a week and so far so good I haven't had any issues yet. I have caught quite a few fish on it so far even hooked up on a 5 lb catfish and about a 10 lb drum and it handled it well . I use this combo as my largemouth and white bass rig so it sees alot of action. I've had it about 6 months now and it's held up nicely so far but we will see how well it holds up after this season. I dont have any knowledge on thier reels unfortunately but it has done well with the abu garcia black max and the colors match so it looks pretty slick i hope it holds up if so id like to buy another and another black max reel for a back upThanks for the reply.

@@BassGeek It's funny you mentioned the Aird X l purchased one 2 weeks ago in a 7' MH baitcast and I've been surprisingly happy with it.
Would like something with a little bit more of a backbone with a stiffer tip that's why l'm hoping the Torrent would do it.
Would be a shot in the dark if l purchased the Torrent because l could only get it through Amazon living in Ontario.
Been a while on a keep or cull. Glad to see this series coming back!

Great review. The rod/reel market has changed so much over the past decade that it's hard to keep up.
It has and you know there are some standard really bad cheap gear out there but I've found over the past few years there are some companies who are making really good lower end gear. It wasn't like that when I was learning and didn't have two pennies to rub together. The junk I had to use was more work then the fishing.
I have been experimenting with Kastking reels for the past month, and so far I am very pleased!
(Pee Cee Fun) I got 2 Torrents and a Perseus reel. They've been putting in work. Haven't got one of their rods yet, but that's on my list. Thanks for the honest opinion.
I really like the rods so far. Maybe more than the reels. lol
is there a buying difference between the torrent and the perseus I have the torrent already love it ...I mean is it worth buying with the centrifical brake is it that much better then the torrent ?
Just got a torrent reel i ordered the other day. Haven’t got to check it out yet though because im at work. Looks like i might have to get a rod to go with it. Also better keep that spook on there that was the key last night on top secret lake p. Shad were spawning any largemouth were cashing in on it.

loop knot is the $hi# - best one I have tried - simple -to get right. If you are not using you should be.

Just broke a Hank Parker signature series rod yesterday,,( caught it on my backswing casting a c rig,,not the rods fault). May replace it with one of these and give them a try.

Question please. I am looking for. 7 ft 6 in. Flipping rod. I do not want a pool que stiffness. Would a torrent medium heavy or heavy by what I want to order? I realize a MH is only rated to 30lbs. Your thought on me using as a flipping rod. Nice review. Thanks
For my flipping I like the Heavy fast action. They have a nice tip.
Keeper for sure! I've been surprised just how nice that gear is...especially for the price. I'm starting to feel kind of dumb for paying so much for gear in the past, lol

Love the Keep Or Cull series, it's a genuine non biased opinion from a seasoned vet of the sport. I'm in the market for a new finesse spinning rig. Looking for 6-10/7ft med lt-med fast action rod. Use it for weightless baits, light Texas riggs etc. $200+/- for combo. Any suggestions?
It really does depend on what price range you're at. If you are wanting to stay on the low end it is hard to beat the Piscifun gear. The Lew's TP1 is a great Rod. Man there are so many There are several Diawa offerings from 100 to 130. Just so so many rods out there. Heck even Six gill when they run the buy on get one that is a tough deal to beat. Now as far a reels. I haven't tried the Piscifun spinning reels but I've got several friends that LOOOOOOve them. I'm a Lew's\Shamano spinning reel guy. It's just hard to beat that Lews Mach Crush for 99 bucks. It's sooooo smooth and silky.

The torrent is a great rod and yes it would truly work for cranking. However I've found one heck of a rod that might work better for cranking. I don't know if they have a Phone number. However it's great. Like I said keep it oiled and I still use it to this day. I put a 20lb topwater bag together last year on the rod. I really like the rods. They are really impressive.

FL HANDSTER They are good and that’s what I meant about oil. The reels have to be oiled a lot. If I was looking in that price range you should check lews classic. It’s a great reel for 50bucks
