  • We go diving with Black Gold Fossil Charters & Captain Michael Nastasio, take a look at what his charter has to offer, and dive into the incredible experience first-hand. There are just a handful of charters available in the Venice Florida area, and this is one of the best. Venice is world-famous for it's sharks teeth, being nicknamed the Shark's tooth capital. Still finding those big megs takes some time, some luck, and a captain that will put you in the exposed fossil beds.
    Contact Michael Nastasio on his Black Gold Fossil Charters facebook page for current rates and options: / blackgoldfossilcharters
    This video contains tons of megalodon teeth, other sharks teeth, underwater creatures, and even a WW2 bullet, cowboy hat, and a coke bottle. If you are curious of what anything in the video is, please leave a comment with the time-stamp and we'll get that answer to you.
    Enjoy!

    Awesome adventure! Definitely need to book his fossil dive charter! Black Gold Fossil Charters consistently puts people on some pretty awesome fossils! Some of those fossil finds are worth way more money than he charges. Great vid Mike (iHuntDeadThings)!

    I'm wondering how often you find modern shark teeth. It seems there would be a lot more of those being shed and surviving than ancient shark teeth.

    • @iHUNTdeadThings
      @iHUNTdeadThings  Před 2 lety

      I have never found a single modern tooth. Not that the areas we dive in the oceans are swarming with sharks anyway truly

    I would have never thought watching someone dive would be so dang interesting. How do you know where to look for all these things? I guess what I mean is how do you choose where to actually dive?

      There are areas known for fossilization. It could be anywhere in that area. They key is, is that fossil layer exposed... throughout the gulf specifically there is a huge fossil bed, but only spots are exposed. Individuals and Charters spend a lot of time swimming over sand looking for the exposed areas. Bits of bone are always a good sign. We would typically mark the spot, and return after storms have once again turned the bottom exposing more fossils.

      I live right on the Gulf in MS. We have barrier islands that pretty much makes our beaches a bunch of yuck. 😜 I've been to FL. beaches (Pensacola, Ft. Walton and Navarre) or Gulf Shores, AL. my whole life and have never once found anything more than the occasional whole sand dollar and some pretty awesome shells. I've always wanted to find a shark tooth. Never thought about using a shifter but I just watched your video where you made one from a dust pan..... I've been going about it soooooo wrong. Lol I will definitely be trying that one out next time I head to the beach. BTW: found your channel from an article that showed up on my Google. Glad it did. This is just fascinating to me. Thanks for sharing.

      Share us with your friends lol. We're a small channel. We recommend manasota and casperson beaches off the FL gulf. And of course Black Gold Fossil Charters and Aquanutz as well.

    • @iHUNTdeadThings
      @iHUNTdeadThings  Před 2 lety

      Often, but lately visibility has been over 15 feet which is pretty good. Depends on many factors out there.

    Loving the vids so far, but whenever he finds a large shark meg tooth, he sounds a bit too much like my wife Jill when she's got her face smooshed in the pillow so she doesn't startle the dogs/wake the neighbors. C'mon man.
