Windy, I’ve been watching dozens of seat refurb videos as I create a new custom seat for my BMW. Your re-covering video is by far the best one I’ve seen. Thank you so much. Regards from the UK.

Windy, just wanted to say I discovered your channel the other day and your motorcycle repair/restoration tips are excellent. Love your channel. I just bought a 97 Yamaha YZF 1000 Thunderace needing total resto and customization. Your channel is helping my knowledge base and am getting stoked to start on the project. Please keep up the great work and you have great taste in bikes. Great collection.

This is great. I've got a question..... how come the 3/8" staples don't come through the base of the seat and out through the vinyl on the outside? I'm sure that there's a simple explanation, it's just that I'm extra simple.

Just replaced the vinyl on my motorcycle with my dads help. Since our handheld stapler wasnt working we used an air tool version. Highly recommend if you have an air compressor, so much easier. It looks amazing and you've made my day with this video. Thanks a lot:)

GOOD QUESTION MAYBE THE FOAM IS THICK ENOUGH ???? MAYBE THE BASE IS THICK ENOUGH TO CONTAIN THEM ??? EASY TO FIND OUT PULL OUT ONE AND SEE IF IT COMPRESSED ??? COULD BE ANY COMBINATION OF THESE.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED STRETCHABLE VINYL,I got mine in Joanns Fabric. Some does not stretch and some does. I got some made for boats and it was very thick and hard to get wrinkles out.TRY JOANNES stretchable vinyl and it should be fine.BEST OF LUCK.

Been doing this forever now, takes me about 20 minutes to do the average seat use to pay for a new sewn seat cover, now I just buy 4 way stretch vinyl at 18$/yard and costs me less than 5-10$ a seat, I probably do half a dozen a month on average so it's really the cats ass probably saves me 300$ or more a month and I don't have to wait for the cover, grab the vinyl off and shelf and get to it. I need to learn how to work foam next

I'm reupholstering a banana shaped seat now. I've got the various densities of foam to make a perfect seat I've bought a yard of Marine grade stretch vinyl and am trying to do just as your doing on seat in discussion. I'm using a hair dryer to soften vinyl. I find it impossible to get the job done as you have done on this video. I've applied much heat, muscle and patience w/ no good results. Th e contours of this seat is similar to the seat you've done. I'm wondering if I'm using a 2 way and need a 4 way stretch fabric.
