This week, Newslaundry’s Abhinandan Sekhri, Raman Kirpal, and Shardool Katyayan are joined by journalists Monideepa Banerjie and Nidhi Suresh.
On the RG Kar Medical College rape-murder case, Monideepa says public protests have defied social divides, with actors, sex workers, and even CZcamsrs joining in. She also delves into the widely-shared misinformation about the crime. Abhinandan says the mainstream media only chooses to cover incidents of sexual assault that have a political angle.
The conversation then shifts to the redacted version of the Justice Hema Committee report, released by the Kerala government, that documents the discrimination and exploitation faced by women in the Malayalam film industry. Nidhi says, “Initially, when the Dilip case happened, CM Vijayan gave a statement saying that this is not a conspiracy…Even today, people ask, who are these powerful men within the industry who are being protected. Now, this report clearly mentions the word mafia.” Shardool says the use of ‘girl’ and ‘woman’ for the victims in the report raises questions about the possible involvement of minors.

He's not talking about bengali people. He's talking about hypocrisy and bias of Godi media. It's the fact that they didn't show such reporting during hathras, prajjwal revanna case, ankita bhandari case, IIT BHU case, manipur, bilkis bano case, female wrestlers protest, Kuldeep sengar, Srikant tyagi, balesh dhankhar, seema patra and many other cases where bjp was directly involved in all of these cases. Yet media didn't do anything or bjp supporters never showed any anger towards their party. Instead they did whataboutery and tried to defend the criminals.
@@lonewolfe2502 what is Godi media? All media is Godi media. The laps vary. Rubbish Kumar who coined this term himself did Godi Media type report on WB case. In this 10 min video he played the whole 3 min video of Mahua Moitra spitting out lies after lies.
He behaved exactly like Navika did in Hathras case. In fact both of them used the same line. “Justice needs to happen but police is doing good job and culprits are getting nabbed”. In both the cases state machinery was abused to thwart justice.
Left media is Chinese funded, Right is Adani funded. I dont trust either. Both are equally corrupt and filthy.
