to make these earrings you will need
- your bead mat to work on
- round nose pliers, wire cutters
- 2 x fancy headpins
- 2 x 8mm beads (or similar)
- 2 x 4mm bicone crystals (or similar)
- 2 x spacers
- a pair of your preferred earring hooks

Would it be a good idea to use a bead reamer instead?

Do you mean to make the hole bigger? The ends of these headpins are splayed out in the production process, and they are quite long, so snipping the wider bit off the end is the easier way to go and you still have a usable length left for another bead set :)
