    Wonder tape has become my best friend...I use it all the time for not only hems, but for inserting invisible zips and to keep patch pockets in place before stitching...using the wonder tape is so much more precise than pinning or clipping....

      Thank you Howard, yes it’s a miracle tape for sure! I too love these little things that makes sewing easier

    I love the sewing machine overlock stitch. I mostly sew cottons. Luckily I’ve never had to take the stitches out. The only negative is a much slower stitch, like you mentioned.

      Great to hear! Yes the speed is so slow, but it also makes controlling the sewing easer I think

    Thank you again Johanna for this great lesson how to use the overlock stich on the sewing maschine. I have the same sewing maschine as you have. The Bernina 1230, bought in 1988

      Yay for the 1230, such a brilliant machine. A repair person told me it has actually great re-sell value. Not that we wanna part with it, right 😀

      Hej, så kul att få en kommentar på svenska. Fint att du tyckte videon var hjälpsam, det är rätt svårt att hitta bra info hur man använder en symaskin för trikå.

    I always find your videos so helpful and have learned a lot as I like to sew knit fabrics. thought about getting an overlocker but then decided instead to invest in a much better sewing machine which I am very pleased with. However, I did encounter a problem that I haven't had before. I twin-needled a couple of jersey hems and despite the fact I had applied a knit interfacing, it tunnelled horribly (with a 4 mm twin). I tried adjusting the tension but nothing worked. Since then I have switched to a 2.5 mm twin which works better but I was rather disappointed to have this problem. Any ideas?

    • @Thelaststitch
      @Thelaststitch  Před 2 měsíci

      Hello, yes unfortunately it’s almost impossible to avoid tunnelling on certain jersey knits with the twin-needle. You can try a few more tricks, which I show in this tutorial www.thelaststitch.com/complete-guide-to-sewing-knits-with-a-twin-needle but it’s tricky for sure

      Thank you. I will watch the video you suggest and hopefully do a bit better with my hems!

    Can I use multipurpose thread for knits? Or do I need a different one ?

    • @Thelaststitch
      @Thelaststitch  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes you can, regular multipurpose good quality polyester thread is great for sewing knits
