This video is a pseudo-response to @UmbraGuide 's video about Ocucor, though it details why Ocucor is such an insane gun, I think I can expand the details and explain the nuances further.
As a long-time Ocucor user (210k kills on it), What makes Ocucor insane is not really on hydroid able to armor strip, it is about the fact that this weapon is capable of straight up "no armor allowed" due to innate elements making it able to go with corrosive, radiation, heat, and with meta gunbuffers (I just use rhino, roar + nourish + additional buffs is very kind to beam weapons too) you can push this secondary gun into overdrive, casually competing with dedicated dps frames, and just straight up haha kpm go brr.
viral corrosive radiation puncture heat on a single gun is truly a DE moment.
Due to its 28 meter max Aimbot nature, you can actually kill in a rate so fast that you thought you are Mesa. If you just put armor strip on this, is just kinda not utilizing the element advantage that this weapon brings, so I just opt for a full on dmg build.

To those wonder why my dmg is higher than normal (the stat screen), I totally forgot there is a 250 secondary base dmg invigoration on my rhino, but without it, you really don't notice a difference at all due to how many base dmg you already have (480-600 + 480 from cascadia flare = 960 at least, 1080 max).
Sorry for my mistakes, but should the test result be unaffected, due to me already using this weapon a lot of times already and I can 100% guarantee that should you get the near-same results with the same setup...[I can instant delete like you see in the video before, with lesser setup (no fire rate arcane).]

Combat discipline deals 10 hp dmg to yourself when you kill, your teammates heal for 20 when they kill.
The 10 dmg part is key, each time you kill, you take dmg, and because avenger can be proc from something that damages you, this also count, but only like a rank 2 combat discipline tho, since the hp dmg per kill is quite handful.
Tldr: combat discipline damages you, and proc on damaged arcanes like arcane avenger consistently.

Seems balanced, nerf melee.
Very good build, you gave me hope on Rhino, i thought he was another weapon holder outshined by Revenant but this build helped me see his potential.
It is just that most people who plays Rhino barely knows how to play Rhino correctly, or even utilize his potential in a meaningful way. It's sad.
I use it on my Mesa since my Mesa has 5 tauforged reds for secondary crit, melee ceramic dagger with secondary outburst for Consistent 200cc and cd, adarza cat for more crit. If you guys using nourish I recommend getting riven that has heat (ms cd heat) +primed heated charge so that you not gonna ruin the element ratio.
true, but don't have +heat in my riven, sadly. But then, I also cannot go too much further due to now corrosive procs far more little than before.
It helps tremendously, i used to get bored of having to shoot and aim at all the different enemies on levels. Now i just look in a direction and i'm surrounded by death
Using it with reworked Hydroid to full armor strip+nourish viral is pretty fun too, even their themes match, tentacles :D
I don't see it getting nerfed in the future. Even though the augment can be accessed since months, I don't see a lot of players going around with the Ocucor. I don't even exactly know why, because that thing immediately became one of my favorite secondaries. It clears missions in no time.

i use the same build i think Cascadia flare arcane does add a lot of damage to the weapon. otherwise it feels very lacking in steel path with a normal frame without any buffs from the frame added on to the final damage output
@@submarine9405 I only have troubles killing my first target in Steel Path with a Viral+Overheat build. Once the passive gets triggered and a second beam appears, I can even keep it in my holster and use it at any time because it seems that the weapon's passive doesn't have an end other than reloading.
I was pretty impressed playing it with Nekros, nuking the big targets with a Felarx and using the Ocucor for trash units. It can deal tremendous damage when the heat procs stack up.
Do note that if you play with Primed Heated Charge, Nourish actually nerfs the weapon (unless you strip armors).
Because the reality is Ocucor's initial damage before ramp-up is too pitiful. It's only strong when it gets five tendrils but honey on SP that buildup is painfully tedious

that s currently pretty much same for any zone damage weapon with the right loadout so not just specific to ocucor. what we see in this video is the general zone damage combat loadout at work. no matter the majority of equipment that allows for zone damage.

So, came across this video recently and first thing first, thanks for the video. I started the research for Ocucor because of watching this, should have one in a few days. I do have a question specifically about the mod set on Rhino though. Why Augur Reach instead of Stretch? At same cost, they have the same amount of Range, with the only difference being Augur has the Energy -> Shields thing, which is kind of useless on Rhino isn't it? Or is that actually needed for something I'm missing?
U can use augur for emergence shield gating and having less range lets u control some ranged helminth abilities better (kinda like gloom or silence). U can safely use stretch here.
I have been obsessed with AOE and rhino for years. I created a zoom and boom bramma/ rhino build that I use to do SP exterminate relics in like 2 minutes lol.

Hey I have another question - would this build benefit from green archon shard's "increase max corrosion stacks by 2" upgrade? Technically it would let us fully strip the armour using this corrosive rad build right?
yes, corrosive (especially this is beam wep, they proc status like nothing) will provide you full strip with corrosive at 14 stacks (2 greens)
Ocucor is good in ESO as well, no more "must have" frames you need. Lowest I was on efficiency was 83 cause shit tileset. Other good tilesets it never went under 97% mostly stood at 99%.
When I level frames, ocucor is my go-to
true, its a "nuke frame" on its own.

its not full casting, only 3 tau for casting, 2 for energy tho.

I hate that it's probably gonna get nerfed. I haven't even maxed out it's potential yet and I've already fallen in love with the gun, from aesthetics to usage. If they just put the buff on a like 4 - 6 second refreshable timer then maybe they could keep it?

why would they nerf it? this is a thing for as long the augment mod exists and just because somebody made a video it's supposed to get nerfed...?
it's also a pve game with no tangible rewards to be earned, so this buff/nerf talking is just so out of place for a game like warframe.
@@excaligaming2435 it's not just 1 video, and not just 1 instance. Literally, it CAN be AFK'd, not that it is always.
Remember Wukong, not needing an augment? And for an augment example, Nova's augment got nerfed right after a buff. Her helminth was being used way, waaaaaay more than herself (a lot like Grendel right now).
I LOVE the gun and I'm so happy it's really good, but DE -- new-crew or not -- have a history of nerfing anything that can operate without the player behind the screen.

@@jellycaketwitch and you dont seem to have logged in to the game for quite a while. Even the original unnerfed catchmoon and tombfinger sec are literal trash compared to almost anything else that is by now in the game. And the trend is to overbuff now and don't nerf, since they lost a fuckton of players with their kuva/tenet aoe nerfs. I repeat, companions are completely overpowered now, almost any frame is afk invincible with the new shield recharging and we have aoe weapons that are nastier than any offender in the past, while simulteaneously buffing the old stuff yet again and even further than their original versions.
And I haven't even started with AFK weapons like Dual Ichor Incarnon, that was shit and then buffed to complete auto afk kill potential, so their philosophy for the past 2 years is exactly the opposite. And don't forget about pseudo exalted frames being absolute disgusting monsters now with incarnon stat sticks.
To be fair, this is similar to pointing at mirage with the old simulor synergy and saying it was busted op.

But having a frame that can slot both nourish and roar AT FULL STRENGTH, gain super armor, super proc enemies to take the full stacked puncture status crit in a button press, stun a room with a range build, and tack on a strong weapon with a busted augment.
If they nerf the OCCULOR for this, then DE hasn't learned anything in all these years.

How viable is it without sentient surge? I had a 3yr warframe break and didn't play during nightwave vol 4, the prices for it are so absurd
You prob need to resume to the holster (2 synth set + 20% from the secondary mod that also restore ammo while holster, for 30% magazine/s) tech that is famous with Ocucor.
Hello, is CC/CD/MS considered to be the best roll you can get for the Ocucor? I don't care enough to get one with a neg but I want to know which rolls are the "best" before I spend 1k on one
Typically yes, but do choose what you needed the most, cc cd ms isn't always the best.
The ones you need tends to be including CD + Ms, crit isn't that worth here due to Augment giving you the crit chance already, but if you want, it's perfectly fine too.
After cd and Ms, the considerable options are +elemental like heat or smth or +mag (more mags means Ocucor can have more leeway when you go with very high fire rate), or even +fire rate.
I just picked up another riven with CD/MS/Heat for 600. I got my CC/CD/MS one for like 1k so I don't think I'm doing too bad @@amolistic_
Hello, is this viable without the rhino setup or without any good mods on the warframe itself? U get about 300 dmg on your weapon and i barely get 90, why is that?
Hi, it can be, just that this is Steel Path so that is more on the endgame side, but if you had unlocked that, I personally recommend frames that has good buffing, maybe someone like hydroid will do, Rhino still can and he is very very low in investment too.
If you don't have good mods yet, frames that has armor strpping/defense stripping is recommended, one of them is hydroid, which strips armor from armored units with corrosive.

You have 5 topaz shards it seems, is that a specific recommendation? I am new to archon shards, so I'm currently trying to decide between armor or ability strength, leaning towards ability strength.
its not 5 topaz, its amber, mostly for the casting speed, energy orb effectiveness and energy start, or occasionally parkour velocity.
Shards is whatever, just that this is the route i go.

Is there some way to contact you about different builds? You mentioned 133KPM being very high and the highest I've seen was 400KPM, there are a few 200KPM+ builds as well
kpm means kills per minute in this case. which is how many mods I've killed in a minute, 133kpm means that I have killed 133 mods in just 1 minute (avg.).
Its nigh impossible to get 200kpm, unless ESO. ( meta AoE is 100-110, and 160 by nuke frames is already SS tier, you have to need godly tilesets, insane killing speed and fast moving speed to get those numbers) since the spawn speed is just that fast, and consider tilesets, the speed a frame moves is counted into it.

I modded heat and viral on mine and I use cascadia flare and arcane precision. It good.
How much strength should i use now that nourish was 'nerfed' ?
I had a new video explaining this, but for now, it is 333 strength to have 150% viral%, and now 275 strength is required for 120 viral% , at max, should you only go 400strength for 180% viral to make the weighting manageable.

For riven, replace pistol pestilence with Toxin+MS+CD for the best damage output.
my riven is a cc cd ms so that it breaks the 100cc threshold, but i will take this as a reference for my future builds.

its not kitguns, primary is paris prime, secondary is ocucor, melee is tipedo prime, I renamed those in fortuna, from rude zuud (iirc)

this thing (along with magnus prime) is peak ammo economy with 60 per pickup while spending only 0.5 per shot (which is 120 shots per ammo pickup)
So the idea is emerald shards so it armor strips, the weapon build as shown, and arcane avenger? It seemed that nourish/roar wasnt needed for it to be effective at base steel path

what to do when i have big ammo problems?
either ammo mutation (for weapons), carrier (sentinel) or scavenger aura mods for warframes (pistol scav, rifle scav, etc.), it basically makes your current picukup x2.5.
eg. a weapon that has 20 ammo pickup, will give 50 instead.
Ocucor wise, you should not have ammo problems due to its 60 ammo per pickup.

It's the perk of Ocucor having 4 aimbot level tendrils when max stack.
Tbh ocucor is only best AOE secondary because you dont need to reload ever

@@bear0599 if you want a very in depth guide...it could be over 1 hour (there is a lot of things i can talk about, which will definitely take a lot of time. Shard wise, its 3 yellow tau for casting speed, 2 yellow tau for energy orb efficiency.

This gun is strong after you put in a ton of Forma into it and a augment mod just like a lot of other weapons. I do think it will get nerfed lol

more crit chance is obviously better, but sentient surge alone is enough if you found the mod spaces tight and lacking.

Beam weapons in general still seem to go heavily unnoticed and underappreciated despite how quickly they can melt things. I've had a Gaze kitgun secondary on my hip for years now and it still hasn't led me astray. Phantasma , before even getting primed, has always been godly at stacking heat because Blaze allows heat and viral to be completely even damage with the 3 60/60's so they have an equal chance to proc, resulting in 100+ heat procs per second. Do I have to bring up how many slash procs Convectrix can pull off in a second as well? BEAM WEAPONS GOOD

@@amolistic_ This is why a Gas Stahlta rests in my primary slot. Armor strip Acolyte and shove a Stahlta boom in their face and gone. My Nami Solo incarnon also shreds them pretty quick.

its a beam weapon, can't have high dmg, but i do get 1.6mil with paris before and when with a secondary weapon, which will come in a video where i use some funny throwables only mod.
if it is the iron skin setup, nah, I don't do that. I can get those numbers when the enemy dmg scales.

No Riven dies instantly. puts Riven on and still dies instantly. there is no faster instantly lol.
Yeah but I can feel the difference when tougher units are presented, but still, you still kill faster, albeit subtle in increase power, just to show that you don't need rivens to make this work.

It's an armor stripped acolyte with a tipedo that is made for killing acolytes and I Even have viral buff on my melee thus more direct dmg.

i have 99.5% roar (199str), its an universal bane mod thus can save slots for other things.

What's funny is that when they nerf this, it will probably never get used by anyone who didn't invest HEAVILY into building for the max potential it has. A gun like this wasn't even on my radar before so I don't have much hope that I'll get to try this out before the Nerf. Sad DEvs are sad.
this is a thing since the augment mod exists... I've been running a much more op setup from day 1 and nobody cares and rightfully so, why would you nerf something like this?
The augment mod was recently made I highly doubt there gonna nerf this after they made pets so op n enemies in sp so weak now for babies 😆
@@skinnydelegateofrhyme8637 and also this. they purposefully made the game a complete joke with auto priming, damage buffing, etc pets and the shield rework led to numerous invincible setups, that don't require any skill or maintenance compared to og shieldgating. Instead of finally killing revenant and invisibility, they just elevated almost every other frame to auto invincibility. Occucor is such a small fish in the pond, it's not even worth talking about in 2023 warframe.
Also, the augment mod was introduced almost exactly 6 months ago already.
Well if it is gonna be safe, then I hope to use it someday at its full potential, looks fun for making things go faster. Being able to clear rooms almost instantly is something that would simplify more than half the farms I'm doing currently lol.
@@Raging-Lion wait until you find about Dual Ichor's fully automated clear. It kills so fast on steel path with it's cloud that are created by it's own kills, that you literally need to track life support and drops back to the enemy spawns. And that is without Saryn's toxic lash added into the mix.
This is one of the guns of all times.
