Silver Lake

Silver Lake is located just 2 km from the centre of Veliko Gradište. It is an artificial lake, 14 km long, and was created by damming the Danube branch to suppress groundwater. One look at its surface on sunny days explains its name, as the reflection on the water resembles silver sparkles, which is the lake’s main feature.
During the warm season, the lake attracts a large number of tourists. The shoreline is laid with pebbles, grass and concrete beaches. It has many cafes and restaurants
where you can enjoy the excellent gastronomic offer in peace, with the feeling that you are in a seaside town. For the youngest and those who feel so inclined, there is an aqua park, a complex of pools and water attractions that can accommodate over a thousand visitors. The offer of accommodation facilities is diverse, from apartments to hotels, and you can also enjoy one of the largest auto camps in Serbia. You will often see kayakers on the lake - since 2011, the National Rowing Centre has been located here, so Silver Lake is a frequent choice for athletes for
competition training.
