Sofia Karlsson - Jag väntar... (Allsång på Skansen, 2006)

Sofia's favourite song, and maybe the best video-recorded live performance of it. Lyrics by her favourite poet ("the world's best poet"), Dan Andersson, 1888-1920, and melody by Gunnar Turesson, 1906-2001. The lovely little "tune within the tune" - the fiddle tune between the verses - was written by Esbjörn Hazelius.
Dan Andersson was Gunnar Turesson's brother-in-law, and he encouraged Turesson early on in his musical endeavours. Turesson was only 16 when he wrote the tune to "Jag väntar...". The title means "I'm waiting...".

I would not normally upload a video that already is on CZcams, but although the other one has more than 200.000 views (which it deserves), it has poor picture quality, wrong aspect ratio, and is slightly out of sync. I think that this great performance deserves a better video, and that's why I'm uploading it.
