WOW !!!! Amazing work. That sled is cleaner than the new one would have been back in the 80's. What a treat to have a classic Blizzard. Like stepping back in time. Beautiful machine and so much more sexy than the new sleds IMO.
Yes that's why I now have a 1996, 97, 99 & 2000 Mach-Z's, I stopped buying new REV chassis sleds every few years and only kept the old triple triples to ride. Fewer friends riding, shorter trips and lack of snow I won't be buying $20,000+ sleds anymore sorry BRP. I have more fun cruising around on the old hot rods and they were all under $2000 each, I only ride groomed trails, rivers & Lakes so the old Mach's are right at home.
My brother just bought a 1980 5500 that’s been resto modded with the ifs and rear sc10 suspension and 583 from a 97 mxz. He’s gonna do all the paint work and make it look like this over the summer
That is just amazingly sick. GREAT JOB with the restoration. Ya gotta be from the way back generation to fully appreciate it (I'm 54). So, like, I was a senior in HS, upstate NY, and got all of the new brochures. I drooled over the Blizzard the most. Even have a coffee cup with the Blizzard 9700 on it. I had a similar Citation a few years ago - but the chassis was all rusted out by the steering attachment area. Sad to see the way the sleds corrode over time.
@@agfirecatable That is cool, I grew up very close to Ft. Drum, NY (used to be Camp Drum). I have a coffee mug that has the sled on it, and the Ski-Doo graphics for that year. Good memories - loved the brochures, drooled over them back in the day. Memories now, all good.
That thing has to fly. My first sled ever was a Blizzard 5500 "Black Betty" and then I had a 86 Formula Plus with the 521 that I built up. I can only imagine a 521 in the weighs nothing blizzard, that's got to be fun to ride!!!
Very nice Jobs Guy's congratulations 👍👍👍.. I remember the Blizzard 9700 521cc Rotax. very nice looking machines... I Love those old Blizzard and TNT and RV they are my favorite sleds all's the times and Look much better then the new sleds. New Sleds Look Like Chainsaws 🤣🤣🤣
I remember the 9700 they were a cool sled back then it's to bad that they were advertised to have oil injection and showed up at the dealers with out skidoo upset alot of buyers they didn't come with oil injection until the 1985 formula plus.
I remember when my friend got a in the crate 1980-81 7500 or 9500 blizzard not shure 1800.00 bucks back in 1983 I almost bought a sonic same deal the dealer brought them back from Canada at a factory clearance due to overstock
hi just came across your 9700 video was wondering what clutch you are using im an original owner of a 1980 ujtra sonic moto ski i want to put something more reliable on it than the original
Please again I go on You-Tube in hopes this finds it's way to maybe the buyer of my very, very rare '84 Ski-Doo 9700 Blizzard. It was bought brand new by me from a Ski-Doo dealer 20 miles from me in Postville, Iowa. It was sold by me three years later or so to someone not terrible far from me --like maybe a 100 mile radius or so. Please this was a special order sled --ordered out by the owner of the dealership as a promo sled. He got hurt very bad and I bought the sled off the showroom floor. It had an aluminum belly pan, jetted up carbs, bigger radiator, 6K RPM racing clutch , studded track, tow hitch, hardened steel carbides. This thing launched better than any of the other production sleds made. It was not even allowed in stock class at two drags I participated in and came in 1st and 2nd in mod class. THis thing screamed. 100 MPH. WAS CRUISING SPEED 3/4 THROTTLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED A 9700 BACK BAD----I MEAN BAD. PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am willing to pay 25K -30K for a sled !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim 563-568-2993
It looks beautiful and i love it but, there is one thing that is bothering me, if it is a 83 then those stickers are wrong, the 83 hadde two orange lines while the 84 hadde thre. I think there are also some myths like the 84 hadde an oil tank wile the 83 didn't, i dont know i've only heard. If it is a 84 then that's more impresive as ther were les then 100 prodused. Either way props to you
@@gregsrestorations7019 I'm looking to get a good profile photo of this machine and can't find one anywhere. Would you be comfortable with giving the customer my contact to see if they would snap a pic or 2 for me. If not I understand. Thanks.

Nice sled... But.... Windshield is incorrect (looks like a cheap Sno-Stuff) and needs cutting down. The bondo on the bellypan won't last if ridden. The graphics on the tank cover should line up with the seat stripes. Painted seat stripes won't last either. Hood centre should be satin black, not gloss black. And a few other things. Can't rush these restorations, boys! Oh, and 9700s were premix.
Sounds like you need a job, send us your resume. Everyone is so picky when it isn't their stuff or paying for it. The sled was saved from the scrap yard and we did the best job we could dealing with parts availability, customers budget, condition on this sled and reality. Don't bash what we do if your not in the industry restoring older vehicles. Just another keyboard warrior.
How is it "bashing" to point out issues? If you're that sensitive, why post a video on CZcams? In any case, what will the customer say when the Bondo falls off the bellypan?
Lol, thanks for clarifying that Bondo is a tradename. Wasn't being picky. Just pointing things out. If you can't accept someone pointing out issues, maybe you shouldn't post on CZcams? Everybody is ridiculously sensitive these days!
