I am continually amazed by the extraordinary flexibility, dexterity and balance that these students have, however, most of the videos in this series seem to be focused only on demonstrating that super flexibility and leg control. The application for this type of training is for Poomsae Performance or Competitions, it really is good for balance and flexibility, but for a fight I don't think it is practical, so its main purpose would be preparing for a poomsae competition.

I appreciate the flexibility and skill required to do this, but it's also another example of traditional martial arts not actually teaching someone how to fight, but to kick pretty. I cannot kick nearly as high, but I have no doubt I would destroy those people on the street.

My 38 year old self is flexible far more than many children in my class or that I see in competition but not like this!! The control they exhibit makes my hips hurt and cramp up! How do they do this?!
