As mentioned I didn’t watch Spiderman Homecoming yet because at the time of recording it wasn’t yet on a streaming service I have! But it’s currently up on Patreon! patreon.com/emmereacts
This movie had me laughing every minute.😂🤣
Ahh i thought i was blind and just looked over jt
Seeing this movie makes me hyped for Infinity War.
It's on Disney plus now.
fyi Valkyrie is gay so don’t let the thor/valk ship get ur hopes up lmao
In the stage play Matt Damon played Loki, Luke Hemsworth played Thor, and Sam Neill played fake Odin.

Point Break is a movie reference Tony Stark used right after fighting Thor in Avengers. He said "No hard feelings, Point Break, you got a mean swing"
In the movie Point Break, some guy has long hair like Thor.
I really wish I could have run into the movie not knowing that the Hulk was going to be in it. I was really frustrated that that was spoiled in the trailers. I am very happy for you that you got to have the genuine surprise when he showed up.
Same. And I feel the same about Winter Soldier. When it came out, EVERYONE knew it was Bucky ahead of the movie's release. It's fun to see reactors who have no idea going into it.
Made sense for marketing purposes. The first two Thor movies were meh so it was inevitable.
On the other hand, that first Thor: Ragnarök teaser was a work of art, absolute fire and marketing genius. It's still one of the best Marvel trailers ever made.
i never watch trailers, if you know you plan to watch a movie, dont watch trailers, they are basically spoilers to tease those who aren't sure
i personally never click them if im interested in a movie and if i see one randomly i close my fuckin eyes and cover my ears lol, they are just not necessary whatsoever
My gf at the time had no idea whatsoever and when he burst out in the arena she almost shit herself
Some fun cameos! Did you recognize...Hela was played by Cate Blanchett (Galadriel)...The Grandmaster was Jeff Goldblum...the Asgardian actors playing Odin, Thor and Loki were Sam Neil, Luke Hemsworth and Matt Damon.
And Tessa Thomson of course as Valkyrie :)
Did you also know that Betty Ross is the Red Skull’s daughter in LOTR?
One of my favorite things in this movie are the rock paper scissors jokes. Korg's revolution failed because he didn't print enough paper pamphlets and Meek 'died' because Korg stepped on him.
OMFG why didn't I pick up on that second part...lack of paper beat rock, and rock crushed, literally, scissors...LOL
To correct some of the comments:
POINT BREAK is an old (1991) movie about (believe it or not) surfing bank robbers. The leader is played by Patrick Swayze who had long blonde hair. Tony Stark called Thor "Point Break" because he resembled the character from the movie.
Yes! YES! Nobody ever explains that, I don't even do it myself cause I figure it would just be lost on the younglings who didn't watch Point Break and will never watch Point Break, but oh my god, I'm so happy I found this comment.
@@phj223 (bowing) Thank you, I figured somebody needed to put it out there! We're probably the only two people who know (and all the other old people!)
honestly thank you for this I LOVE the mcu and a lot reactions i’ve seen laugh at that joke but never explain it so i thought it was a joke i just would never get lol.
I will not stand for this Johnny Utah erasure.
The movie Point Break is actually being picked up by some reaction channels lately, and these trends seem to spread, so maybe soon all the youngsters will appreciate this glorious joke 😅
If you remember Point Break is what Tony called Thor in the first Avengers movie when he said " You've got a mean swing there point break"
And for those that might not get the reference, its bc at the time, Thor looked like Patrick Swayze did in the movie ‘Point Break’.
@@jmo3457 Yes there are so many lines and other things that connect and span the movies. Some I see the most are the words On your left that span even to End Game and Loki looking at the Tesseract in this movie.
Ragnarok in the nordic mythology "just" means the end of the world, so the definition in this movie of asgards destruction is pretty good
Its also a cycle if i remember, in that the world and gods are destroyed but reborn again latter?
The Grandmaster is one of the ageless Elders of the Universe and has mastered most civilizations' games of skill and chance. He is often depicted as the Collectors brother, who you met in Thor end credits and GOTG
Korg is voiced by the director, Taika Waititi. He also played another short role in this movie, that is the guy with the white face paint, who seemed like the leader of the group that first tried to captured Thor just as he arrived of Sakaar.
Awesome rock, scissors, paper joke when you meet Korg and Miek. Korg was defeated because he didn't print out enough paper pamphlets
i love that loki smirks when the massive thunderbolt strikes, its the "about bloody time you did that" smirk
Emme, here's an interesting cast note; The actor Karl Urban who plays Skurge "The Executioner":has been in some very interesting roles over the years. He played Doctor McCoy in the Star Trek trilogy. He was the warrior Éomer in the Lord of the rings trilogy. And of course, he appears here as Skurge The Executioner. But, he has had many other prominent roles over the years. We think his eyes give him away no matter the costume.
DOOM was great. But I LOVED him in Dredd 2012
i think we can agree his role as Billy Butcher in The Boys was exceptional too
Hulk's enthusiasm for fighting a 500 foot tall monster/god is so delightful.
I mean, that's what they keep him around for, right?
The Valkyrie that they showed in the flashback dying in front of our main Valkyrie, was (as told behind the scenes) her wife. So when she said she lost everything.
Have you guys ever thought how all the Asgardians got to earth and some were still alive? Loki probably used the space stone he stole from the vault and safely transported everyone to earth. That why we see Valkyrie, and Heimdall son and the majority of the Asgardians. Loki doing one more good deed before he dies.
Since 1986 I have been a fan of Thor and The Incredible Hulk. Thor: Ragnarok is a fantastic film that incorporates the influence of Big Trouble in Little China, Jack Kirby, 48 Hours Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, as well as Flash Gordon. Thor is strapped on a chair, learning about the Grandmaster’s planet of Sakaar, the melody of “Pure Imagination” from 1971’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory plays while Thor is all creeped out. A few of the comics that inspired Thor: Ragnarok are Angela, Queen of Hel, Thor Disassembled, Thor Volume 1, #362, Thor Volume 1, #382, Thor: God of Thunder, Planet Hulk, Marvel Super Heroes: Contest of Champions, Journey into Mystery Volume 1, #112, and Thor Volume 1, #352. I have been a Taika Waititi fan since 2014, and I have enjoyed his films since then.
I can't WAIT to see you react to the end of this phase and a lot of the shows in Phase 4. Loved this one
Korg is hilarious and you either talked over or edited out all of his punchlines. I was really looking forward to seeing your reaction to them.
The best MCU movie. Everything a comic book movie should be. Brilliant.
That Doctor Strange cameo was chef kiss 😘
Anyone could use Mjolnir before the events of the first Thor movie. Odin only enchanted it when he banished Thor in the beginning of the movie.
Not exactly, before the enchament you can lift the Hammer but not fully wield it like Thor can, example conduit his lightning through the hammer, or use it to fly like thor does when he spins it.
@@DJZ64X I didn't say that. I said they could use Mjolnir, which is true. It's a hammer, and could be used as such.
37:18 I don't think I've seen you laugh this hard at anything you watched on camera, haha.
Favorite Emme moment, right there. Love your reactions, keep up the good work! Love you
I'm glad I've found this channel. I've been binge watching your marvel reactions 😂I haven't seen Phase 1-3 movies in awhile. It's cool to have someone to watch with. Especially someone new to the MCU, but you've made it this far. Keep it up!
Emme with the aggressive “give him a hug” xD lol
Seeing Volstagg die in this hits now differently as actor who portrayed him Ray Stevenson died very recently.
"A cat that everyone else is weak to." I stroke my beard knowingly...
Fun fact: the Grandmaster is brother to the Collector (from Guardians of the Galaxy)
29:17 In the original cut of the film that was to be her love-interest. They removed the context for the final cut as The Mouse™️ didn’t want to gamble with having an openly lgbtqia+ character hurt their box-office numbers 🙃 Happy Pride Month btw
Easily my favorite of all MCU films! It’s pure fan service all the way through and every actor NAILED their roles.
2:35 - Surtur is voiced by...Mr. Krabs. Let that visual sink in...
Hella is Cate Blanchett. If you've watched Lord of the Rings, she was Galadriel.
I think she has. She mentions that this movie gives her Star Wars/LOTR vibes.
@@Mathroy And the executioner guy was Eomer.
Did you know Betty Ross is the Red Skull’s daughter in LOTR?
@@donsample1002 Skurge
@@donsample1002 Yeah Skurge!
The Immigrant song is about the vikings using the hammer of the gods to bring them to a new land.
Ragnarok is great. In no small part to director Taika Watiti, who also does the voice of Korg. Love this one!
In Norse mythology, the Valkyries were angels that carried those who died courageously in battle to Odin's mead hall Valhalla, where they would fight a great battle every day, then all the dead would rise and they would all drink and feast all night.
28:28 my Mum was abusive and when I moved in with my grandparents when I was 11 I couldn't remember anything from before then. took me 5 years to remember. Can confirm it is very scary
It's Jeff Goldblum, of course he can tie in a revolution!
Asgardians have inherently enhanced healing so stabbing really would just be a friendly childish prank to them 😂
Loki got a good chuckle out of that story!
"Find somebody who looks at you the way Loki looks at the Tesseract"
Which, by the way, Hela also noticed as "not bad".
Taika Waititi is a really good director. He also did "Jo Jo Rabbit", and "What We Do In the Shadows". They would be worth reacting to.
Grandmaster is collectors brother
Hi Emme, just wanted to say that I'm a huge fan and I love your reactions! 💙
The woman who died to save Valkyrie was her girlfriend. Also worth nothing that Thor, Loki, and Hela are all canonically bi. It's actually really lucky this is the first MCU movie you've uploaded during Pride.
Also, Bruce just fully died on that bridge. Being able to come back to life is one of his powers.
Wife but close
Thor said ‘no’ when Loki asked to bring them back because Odin had just told them that Hela draws her power from Asgard & when she got there her powers would be limitless.
27:16 Point Break is a movie that stars Patrick Swayze as a surfer dude with long blonde hair. Thor resembles him, which is why Tony calls him "Point Break."
So i believe the blonde Valkyrie that sacrifice herself was actually her girlfriend
Wife, but close enough.
In Nordic/Scandinavian mythology Valhalla is the equivalent to Heaven, and is where Odin went, so he did not really die but went to Valhalla, while Hela Odinsdottir is Hel the Goddess of Death and ruler of Hel in Nordic mythology, which is also an afterlife location, like the equivalent to Hell. Ragnarök is a foretold catastrophic series of natural disasters, including the end of the world, though after these events, the world will rise again, cleansed and fertile.
Once I saw the green explosions and heard the word incredible I already knew who would be entering the arena.
"I thought it was going to be a cat that everyone was weak to," we will just put a pin in that one tor a few more movies.
Careful 😄
@@monsterlair I'm literally quoting.
@@darksaint0124 I mean spoilers.
@@monsterlair I understood what you meant. And like I said before, I'm literally quoting.
@@darksaint0124 Omg, you don't think it's kind of obvious WHY you're quoting?
Anyone even consider family therapy instead of the destruction of a whole planet or was that just a big no before anything could happen?
Someone should have told Odin that before he banished her.
Something tells me Hela wouldn't be into therapy very much.
This movie was so much fun.
Actually, if you've ever seen The Lord of the Rings, you know the actress playing Hela, Cate Blanchett. She's Galadriel, the elven queen of Lothlorien. She's blond there.
Did you know Betty Ross is the Red Skull’s daughter in LOTR?
@@ricardoortiz4870 but only the first instance of the Red Skull 😂
@@EmanueleCorsi I wouldn’t trust Betty Ross since she’s the daughter of Hydra.
Hi Emme, I'm a bit behind today on reactions.🙂In the play, that was Matt Damon as Loki, Chris Helmsworth's brother as Thor, and Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) as Odin. Odin went to the Asgardian afterlife Valhalla where his wife Frigga resides. Normally you have to die in battle to get there, but I suppose Odin is an exception. That is Australian actress Cate Blanchett as Hela. Korg is voiced by Taika Waititi. Great reactions to this light hearted Thor film, Emme!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
38:53 - Let’s goooo
Mark ruffalo killing again as hulk and banner this was his best work as the character
Fun Fact: Mark Ruffalo was originally the director Louis Leterrier’s first choice for the role of Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk.
So, basically, you were saying was, I think Loki has big I just wanna fix him energy.😂😂😂
Yes!!! LOL
Emme not knowing and loving Cate Blanchett is shocking to me.
Best Thor movie ever!
Oh my, so funny to see your reaction to Bruce jumping from the ship, this movie is great :D
Top tier Marvel right here ❤
uploading when I'm supposed to go to bed 😭 I look forward to watching your reaction tomorrow!
Truly a refreshing take on Thor. Needed it after Dark World which many didn't like
Cate Blanchett plays Hella. She only one of the top actresses in Hollywood , also in a little movie trilogy called Lord of The Rings.
Did you also know Betty Ross is the Red Skull’s daughter in LOTR?
Here's something to blow your mind a little, Scourge (Heimdall's stand-in) is Billy Butcher from the boys.
And Eomer in LOTR
Ragnarök is the Norse version of Armageddon. It is the event that brings an end to the Norse gods. In Ragnarök, Odin is eaten by the great wolf Fenrir, and The great serpent Jormungandr, whose body makes up the World Tree Yggdrasil is destroyed.
37:08 Odin lost his eye after fighting the Frost Giants (Thor 1 after defeating Laufey scene).
There will never be a plot twist in any movie where there's a cat that everyone is weak to! It's impossible!
This movie was so awesome! Easily the best Thor movie out there! Before this one, he was not really seen as a "main character" per se, like Captain America and Iron Man were, Thor was more or less seen as the classic god character who was in the Avengers movies. I mean, he was loved and respected before (but as much as them), and this film elevated that to another level. So much character development, that too with comedy and heart, and the best part about it is the comedy didn't feel forced at all, it was all so organic.
Like the other comment suggested, I wish they didn't reveal Hulk in the trailers. I mean, I understand that from a marketing POV. But the theater audiences would've been blown away just like you were with Hulk's out of nowhere appearance and presence...
Also I really appreciate you making these videos, they truly are something special and make my day! ❤ And I hope your day goes well too! ✌
And now you're literally there at Infinity War on Patreon (after Black Panther) 🤩💥 oh I can't wait for you to watch it!! I recommend that you post it in two parts on CZcams, to get all the good stuff from the movie covered nicely ✨
Unrelated sidenote: This has probably never happened in Star Wars as far as I know, but the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian has a post credits scene. I missed it the first time I watched it lmao, so just putting it out there so you don't miss out on it... Peace ✌
Hela is played by Cate Blanchett, who also plays Galadriel in the LOTR trilogy
Is Betty Ross Hydra because her father’s the Red Skull.
If you're a Spongebob fan - just a note that Surtur is played by Clany Brown (Mr. Krabbs)
Finally caught up with your MCU reaction list. Gotta say I've been delighted seeing your reactions! I mean..hopefully that didn't come off as weird or something.
Ehhhh anyway, point is keep up the work and can't wait to see more MCU reaction content✌
Just discovered your channel :) Enjoy your soft voice, it's easy to go thru the reactions
Thanks and welcome!
Fun fact:The Grandmaster and The Collector from Guardians of The Galaxy vol1 are Brothers
I like hearing Emme say "interesting". 😄
Okay you really should see Jurassic Park if you want an introduction to the majesty that is Jeff Goldblum
i remember going to see this movie on my birthday when it first came out along with my best friend, I enjoyed the humor that developed from this production which is what happens when you get people like taika watiti to direct these things, he is also the voice of korg. probably one of my favorite films of phase 3, cant wait for you to get through the rest of the phase 3 films.
play-Thor is Chris Hemsworth's brother Liam & play-Loki is Matt Damon.
This was one of the best I think. Glad you enjoyed it.
"I thought it was going to be a cat that everyone else was weak to..."
nobody tell her
the giant monster animal whose head gets ripped off at the start is the Fenris Wolf according to Norse mythology.
Nice fun reaction, hilarious you starry-eyed love for loki he is a villan , the fantastic actor playing him makes you want the best for him 😎
This is a fun one. One of the upper tier MCU films. You are moving closer to the big even
In Norse Mythology Hel(a) was a child of Loki, as were Jormangandr(the Midgard Serpent, who kills Thor and is killed by Thor), the Fenris Wolf, and Odin's eight legged horse, Sleipnir.
"Look at that wolf"... doesnt realize its Fenrir, one of Lokis children, and destine to kill Odin, and eat the moon (in one of the Ragnarok cycles, given he doesnt do it in the movie lol).
IM SO EXCITED, infinity war reaction is coming aaaaaa
didn't like how they killed off thor's pals so quickly
yes to everything you said
Valkyre in Norse mythology are female warriors who ride down after a battle to gather the souls of worthy fallen warriors and carry them to Valhalla, where they will feast and train 'til the end times (Ragnarök) where they'll be called on to fight in the final battle of good vs evil. They are basically psychopomps (afterlife guide deities). Popular culture depicts them as robustly plump and singing very badly, both traits borrowed from opera where they are usually played by big women. The best known valkyre is Brünhilde from the German epic Der Ring des Nibelungen. They don't actually ride pegasi because Pegasus comes from Greek mythology, so they just ride regular unnamed flying horses.
The actor for Skurge is the same actor that plays William Butcher from The Boys
No 💩, it’s Karl Urban.
THAT was Thanos’ ship!
I remember the time Superman made out with Thor. It was pretty cool.
he's a friend from work
You not recognizing actors/actresses is one thing.. but you not recognizing Jeff Goldbloom as the Grandmaster is just, well, chaos.. and well, there it is.. because life will find a way..
@@EntertainmentFan11 borderline blasphemy lol..
Thor apparently had some of lokies hair tied in with his braids because he loved him and genuinely thought he was dead that's why he didn't want his hair cut
You know Hela from The Fellowship of the Ring
Did you know Betty Ross is the Red Skull’s daughter in LOTR too?
Ragnarock is basically the end of the world when Asgard and the 9 realms would fall. In general. It's a Norse prophecy and legend
Odin traded his eye for knowledge and all seeing power. :)
Since you like Loki, you have to watch the series.
She’ll probably do it after completing phase 3.
loki is after endgame, we will get to it soon enough;)
All in due time!
