    Absolutely beautiful! I love your teaching style and have learned so much! I have been making gum paste flowers for about 2 years now. I love to learn new techniques❤️ My stepdaughter is graduating next month. The cake I made is sitting in the freezer…layered, filled, crumb coated and wrapped super tight. I am planning to decorate it with a beautiful flower arrangement, cascading down the side in a crescent shape. This is the perfect flower to work into my design! Thank you again!

      Oh brilliant! It is great one to add some height and texture to an arrangement. So glad you are enjoying my tutorials. Please do share your finished flowers with me as I’d love to see them and the cake too! 💚

    Great tutorial, thx for sharing Clare. If one does not have a cosmos veiner can one use a peony veiner perhaps or what would you suggest?

    • @TheBotanicalCakeStudio
      @TheBotanicalCakeStudio  Před 2 lety

      So glad you like it ☺️ if you don’t have a cosmos veiner, I would probably suggest just using the wide end of the Dresden tool and pressing it along the length of each petal to give the same textured effect

    Are you using white cotton covered 30g floral wire? My wire seems to be showing through the sugar paste.

    • @TheBotanicalCakeStudio
      @TheBotanicalCakeStudio  Před rokem

      Hi Venus. It’s a white 30gauge wire by Hamilworth. They are the best brand in my opinion. The white paper stays attached to the wire much better than other brands.

    Complete novice here - what do you dab on the fondant before you roll it and before you thin the petal out? Thanks

    • @TheBotanicalCakeStudio
      @TheBotanicalCakeStudio  Před 8 měsíci

      Hi Shelly, I dust with a little cornflour/cornstarch to prevent the flower paste from sticking to the rolling pin/ball tool. If you want to make sugar flowers, I highly recommend that you buy (or make) a specific flower paste rather than fondant. Fondant does not act the same as flower paste and can not be worked to create delicate flowers. Hope that’s helpful! 💚

      Hi! Sorry for the delayed reply. If you have a small sized peony cutter, I would have thought that would work fine :)

      I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the video. I'm not sure why you find it hard to hear though...perhaps it is your device? The sound is very loud and clear on my laptop and phone as I use a high quality microphone for my recordings.
