What you need:
Milk
Soap dish
food coloring
cotton swab (q tip)
plate
Just place some drops of food coloring as shown in the video over the milk (regular whole milk works best) and dip the q tip into some dish soap. Place the q tip with the drop of soap directly onto the food coloring and watch the colorful fireworks!
this music is way too intense for what is going on in the video.
Quaith Daiferson
Ikr
You mean not intense enough
Is it, though?
George hah yeah
I was watching this video for science ideas and when it ended my 6 year old was like "can you turn that great music on again?"
this was the emotional journey of a lifetime.
I cried
@@LinaVlogz i died
wow, I never thought teachers could find something this cool
Hi, I'm a reporter for Business Insider. I was wondering if I could have your permission to use this awesome video for a story I'm working on. I would of course provide full credit. Let me know. Thanks! -Ian
Yes you can.
@CreamyDream so 6 months later he has 1.35 mil? wassupwidat?
@@rwhelanable 800k now... what in the...
@@conorfrog 5.5 mil....
yo wtf why are u here
I rate this video a wopping 9/10, truely great video skills and great selection of music.
boi i remember doing something like this back then cause i saw how cool it was. nostalgic
Thanks - quick great idea for young kids science! I really appreciate your efforts!
I tried to eat food coloring once I dyed
+Fuze grid 360 YOU DYED YOU HAIR ?????
+TheDiamondHeart no
I'm just kidding lel
THE PUN IS REAL!!!
LOL too fuuny
Did you know if you just drip the soap into the bowl, it will continue to swirl? Try that. It's mesmerizing! :)
it worked. thx bro
I heated one bowl of milk up it was really neat!
When I did this experiment it was successful.
Thanks a lot
My brother did this for a science project at school like 2 years ago so cool
Satisfaction at its fullest
Can i use tempera paint for this, instead of food color ?
This makes me more creative than a 80 thousand dollar painting right?
Ryuu Otaku Dragon If you try to make a drawing of something with that, probably.
Beautiful, my boy will be loving doing it. thanks for sharing.
Nice,What is the blue liquid in the cup?
Excellent experiment for Young and Old - Alison Paris
Does the thing by any chance freeze up if you leave it overnight?
its better when you pour the soap in instead of dipping it

Why so intense on the music vibe? Other than that, I loved this idea and will be trying it out next weekend with my 7 year old grandson.
Thanks
That was awesome !!
pretty neat great job
1:09 is incredible waaaaaaaaw
It reminds me of Stranger Things.
OMG this is soooo cool!
OMG I did this and it worked it was AWESOME
Do you have to use plastic plates
Can we use powder food colour or paint
does it have to be dish soap?
could you place paper on top and thus transfer the colour to paper
Love the experiment don't love the dramatic music although I am dramatic so hahaha
Would this work with steamed milk .
this is awesome my friends are trying it out
Blessing Enyong
I don't drink milk but I'm gonna buy me some soon cause I got a 10 strip of lsd and this is going to be a game changer ✊🏼✌🏼❤
what does the food coloring represent?
I love it!
You recomended this for me its in my notification videos
I tried it and it was cool thank you
AWESOME I'm going to try that
can you tell me what is that blue colour.
It soap
most of the time is really like watch an artist painting
can u use paint
Is it okay if I use a powdered milk? Thanks in advance :)
Would you say it’s an endothermic reaction or a exothermic reaction
GUYS! I NEED YOUR HELP
Please answer this for my assignment;
How is it Related to Chemistry?
What is the Purpose of this element?
www.stevespanglerscience.com/lab/experiments/milk-color-explosion
the explanation is on this page
I hope u got a good grade from 4 years ago
Can any one explain me whats the scientific reason for happening like this.cz i want to explain the facts to my son.thanks
farzana akter soap is attracted to fats and the milk contains fat so when soap is added it pulls the fat towards it and in doing so it pushes the food coloring away due it not having fat. At least that’s my theory.
@@fionabrown5574 thank you so much.
Tried this this morning with full fat milk, but the food colouring just kept on mixing itself with the milk and/or sinking to the bottom. Didn't really work. Did I use too much milk?
More dramatic than the scene where Jack dies.
Can you tell me how to make rainbow color from food colors used for any liquid
Going to try this with our three year old tomorrow 👍🏻
Is it effective if i use powdered milk?
What is the blue thing on the bud
I REMEMBER DOING THIS IN 5th GRADE
me to
Awesome vid bro, keep it up I love u 5eva g dem
Can you use any dish soap
yes
totally going to do this next time I trip
ha i thought the same thing when i saw this
+Layne Cobain ha my god i did too
I have to try and this
This music is fantastic.
+Tim Davies can u help me do it
What is the Science Concept of this? I need it. Thanks!
the dishsoap breaks down/seperates the fat content in the milk which creates the motion
so lowfat or skim milk wont work well
Kosmo Kramer Thanks so much!
Why does dishsoap break the fats in the milk?
idk you tell me
Is that tide
How is this linked to science? :D
Also awesome experiment
Mermicorn ! It’s a physical reaction by the fat of the milk being separated
I'm definitely gonna try this out😋😊😮
Did it work out?
how does it work?
what is the name of the expirement again
that is so totally awesome
My school was doing the milk swirl experiment and played this on the school TV mine got mixed up and when I was about to head over to the sink in the classroom I accidentally dropped the plate and it was all over me! I'm trying this at home and it is better at 🏡 home 🏡
I tried it to my parents and they said that it was so pretty
what is the reason behind this
he needs some milk
like literally
You know tide is not a company it's a brand of Procter and gamble I know because my dad works for a company that makes the parfumerie for tide
Not only for tide
But what is the science behind what happens?
So milk is nutrients in a drink so.....*snores*.... Wut oh yea so soap mix....*snore*snore*snore*
Milk is mostly water but it also contains vitamins, minerals, proteins, and tiny droplets of fat suspended in solution. Fats and proteins are sensitive to changes in the surrounding solution (the milk). The secret of the bursting colors is the chemistry of that tiny drop of soap. Dish soap, because of its bipolar characteristics (nonpolar on one end and polar on the other), weakens the chemical bonds that hold the proteins and fats in solution. The soap's polar, or hydrophilic (water-loving), end dissolves in water, and its hydrophobic (water-fearing) end attaches to a fat globule in the milk. This is when the fun begins. The molecules of fat bend, roll, twist, and contort in all directions as the soap molecules race around to join up with the fat molecules.
its because soap cleans the dye from the milk and pushes the dye away
What milk is it fresh milk ??
Perfect my 8-year old did this at her science fair.
Will chocolate milk work?
What was the blue solution
Windex
What would be the education factor behind this ?
+Megan Markel Thx dude! Doin a science project on this too :D
Wow thank you !
Anyone know hot to make them eventually turn solid so they can take them home
Me: heart beats fast
Music: I know, I don’t actually go with pg footage
Me: in 2021 looking back! The creator was a noob back then now in modern terms.
Put food coloring in whipped cream 4 ur desserts
Does this need to be whole milk??
Yes
is it exothermic or endothermic reaction ?
it is amazing i am gonna do that in the science fair in my school after couple of daysss wowwww
Yeah kon sa liquid ha?
Can u tell me what the food colouring is called plzzzzzzzzzzz
Nice video... Food color powder & liquid alag hoy chhe
Can someone please explain each step?
What is the name of this expiriment
What dish soap is it any? Tell me more information Please reply to me
Can you tell why this happens because i have to write it in my holiday homework
Michael Jackson
The soap moves around the fat in the milk
Is this a quimic experiment
?
Omg! Sooo cool but what is the blue thing? That you dipped in? 🤴🤴🤴
There was blue food coloring and dawn dish soap
(The dawn was also blue)
is the milk still drinkable
Yes ;)
Why does the colors run?
Great video! I’ve tried something similar on my channel last night.
someone obviously has too much time on their hands....and milk too
I did this experiment in my university biology course while studying chemical engineering. Obviously had to write a pretty detailed report on the interactions going on. But if you think this is a waste of time, then I suggest you take some general science courses.
I did it and it works
it actually works
