When I was just out of high school my boyfriend and I went to see him in concert. My bf wasn't feeling well so we had to leave early and missed this song. The next day as I was leaving work Edwin's tour bus was in the parking lot next to my building. It had some mechanical issues. The band was all sitting outside on their instrument cases. So I walked over and they played this song for me since I had missed it the night before. It was amazing and they were so nice and down to Earth.

This was a a no 1 hit when I was in Grade 9. Good times.
This song makes me want to cry now. It used to just make me think back and smile but now with the person this song reminds me of is gone I just want to cry. We haven't been together for more than 20 years but I'll always be one of his biggest fans. Gone too soon and it hurt. Still love him as a friend and the thought of the world without him just hurts. I'm sure everyone who knew him and loved him in some way feels this way.

Apparently this song came about when he was at a bar one night and a guy was trying to pick up a girl and he said I’ll be your crying shoulder he jotted it down and built a song around a pick up line from a dive bar
Heard him tell the same story, he said the guy was steadily striking out. And told the girl when she talked about her problems “awe honey i’ll be your crying shoulder”

This is mine and my husband’s song!! Over 13 years now!! We didn’t pick it but we couldn’t have picked a better one! Here in the south where I’m from anyways, traditionally couples don’t pick their song. “Their” song is whatever song they first slow danced to together.
