Bon Jovi - These Days track-by-track Interview (Brash's Power Picks 1995)

- Rare and interesting interview with the band about most of the songs on their phenomenal These Days record. Some cool background stories and moreover Jon mentions how he looks forward to playing "Hearts Breaking Even" live, yet the song never made it onto the setlists.
This is the most underrated Bon Jovi album. In my opinion, it is their BEST album. The songwriting is phenomenal, the production, the mix/master, all of it is superb. Bon Jovi pushes his vocals to their max (this is the last album where he sang in his higher register). Such a special album.
These Days Commentary:
0:00 Hey God
1:36 Something For The Pain
3:00 These Days
4:25 Lie To Me
5:31 Damned
6:23 My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms
7:30 (It's Hard) Letting You Go
9:48 Hearts Breaking Even
11:33 Something To Believe In
12:40 If That's What It Takes
13:48 Diamond Ring
Observation: It's kind of sad for me to say this, but I think the band felt If That's What It Takes as a filler song. I mean, the only one talkin about it is Richie, Jon doesnt even say nothing, Tico and David are quiet most of the interview. Idk if they really dont like the song but it seems like that :/ and saddens me cause its one of my favourites off the album and probably one of the strongest also. Gotta love them tho
You forget this aint a love song
@@therockbeast6214 did they talk about the song? I can't find it and i'm pretty tired to watch the whole video again lmao
Wow, he says it would be fun to play Hearts Breaking Even live, yet they never played it. Sad
What is Richie's comment? I dont quite get it (Im not a native speaker) One of my fav song
Jorge Luis Suárez
He says it’s “a Philadelphia sound”
Which is explained here

@@Woody991 I really apreciate your answer and thw time youve invested. I love this album!
Jorge Luis Suárez
It was about 30 seconds but you’re welcome lol
@@Woody991 it meant a lot to me!
Their last 5 star - 10/10 album in my view.
Agreed. Bon Jovi's BEST album - and that's saying something.
@@meirweinberg3293 absolutely
It absolutely was great from start to finish. Amazing!
Love this album!
My favorite Bon Jovi record, special in my life for many reasons, 3 stars of honour with the 10/10, this album should be on the list of best albums all time
I agree. Beautiful writing, singing, playing and well produced. Love it. It is a desert island album.
@@lkey4045 the video of This Ain't A Love Song was recorded in Thailand, the picture of album was taken in a little town of my country, Mexico, the town is called San Antonio, is almost closer of La Paz, Baja California Sur, on the Mexican Pacific Ocean
Great upload mate! I've always wondered why Hearts Breaking Even has never been played live, i think it's one of their best songs. Surprising to hear he wanted to play it live.
Also looks like the set of This Ain't A Love Song in the background.
Speaking of This Ain't A Love Song, why did they leave it out of the interview? And Is this an Australian interview?
I have no idea why it wasn't mentioned. I got this from an old promo VHS and yes, it was an Australian interview. About the This Ain't A Love Song set in the background: They told that the video was shot on the road while band was touring Thailand and I guess the interview was recorded on the same occasion.
hAnD90 aaaaaiiiee screamin' like a fan should!!!
It's Richard Wilkins narrating and he's an Aussie :)
So sad! I love HBE...it would be amazing if they played it live on a tour or a runaway tour
Their best album imho. Darker than the rest but in some ways much more heart felt, gritty and real.
100% agree
Absolutely the best! The songs have so much meaning.
These days is my favorite album ✨
For some reason Jon doesn't like this album (bit like 7800) but for me I consider These Days the highlight of their career I still listen, and love, the first 6 albums the most.
Bummer that it's missing 'This Ain't a Love Song' this is amazing though!
This Ain't A Love Song don't need review because was the lead single of These Days
Bro, what the fuck stopped them from including Hearts Breaking Even on their setlists for tour? They for sure sounded very enthuasiased to playing it, yet they never played it. Same for If Thats What It Takes, but Jon didnt talked anything on it. Pretty sad :(
Hearts Breaking Even é muito alta...esse disco todo é muito alto. Mas nessa época ele conseguiria com certeza
So true. This all. Cool JBJ.
l am a fan yours nice day l love you so much my love . forever.
Solid record!!
Thailand
It's an amazing album but why on Earth do you have the video for want of dead or alive playing behind the song for Hey God
That's how it aired at the time, Bad Medicine's video is in there for the same reason. The band filmed these interviews around the time of the video shoot for This Ain't A Love Song, so there was no video clip footage for These Days available yet.
where's bitter wine?
Is an bonus track
