I had the pleasure of getting to meet and talk with Andy this year in Las Vegas at NAB and wow...what an extremely knowledgeable guy! I am a big Sennheiser (2000 series) and Shure (UR Series) user prior to meeting Andy and I will say I am now very excited to getting my Sony wireless gear and start using! Lots a features that are extremely helpful in this run and gun world of shooting most of us now work in. Andy, thanks for taking the time in Vegas to give me a very good understanding of Sony Wireless! Very informative video btw!

This product seems awesome. Is there a kit for sale including two wireless transmitter body packs? Wouldn't it have been nice if there was a cold shoe on top to put a stereo shotgun microphone such as my Sennheiser MKE440 to plug into the mic input. Before I saw this, I just went for a Saramonic UwMic9 that sells as a kit, for sure it would be nice to understand how Sony's quality might be better. Does the hot shoe work with my Sony AX53 camcorder? While I am waiting to upgrade to a 4K60p HDR camera (with H265 youtube compatible lower filesize codec option) with perfect auto focus and awesome IBIS from Sony if perhaps soon there might be an AX63, AX200 or A7000 (with headphone jack, flip out bright display, no overheating issue, dual SD card slots, Sony A9 type 2.2x larger battery) that might come out. Perhaps it would be awesome if a camera like an upcoming AX200 would be so bold and include all the features of this dual wireless receiver directly into the camera. And I wonder if it might be awesome to have an alternative system not using UHF that locally records and later synchronizes recordings over WiFi direct or bluetooth if there's not enough bandwidth or too much interference for live wifi sync of the audio. So each lav would be able to record and be able to have as many as you'd like and all to sync over wifi later, with in-camera post production features built-in to adjust each audio channel, merge them to stereo/surround, and other in-camera edit functions for cut/trim, titles, watermark, intro/outro etc.

    Dear Sony @
Sony Professional Solutions Americas , what about the 4-th gen version of the dual-channel receiver? With digital feed to camera via MI and NFC syncing?

HELP: My new SONY URX-P03D won't turn on! Until now, I have been using it with the dual channel multi mode shoe adaptor on top of my Sony camera. Tomorrow I need to use it in a sound bag for the 1st time. I tried with 2x AA batteries and it wouldn't turn on. I then went into Power Source (while on external power) and selected BATTERY ONLY. Now I cannot power it on!!! Tried other, working battery cradle and full batteries, as well as USB power, but nothing. Sony support in Australia could only suggest I return the unit, but they don't have any loan items and I need this tomorrow!
Do you have any suggestions on how to reset this device, even to use external (USB) power???
    Desperate,
    Paul

ANSWER: Do NOT use ANY rechargeable AA batteries. Irrespective of the setting for Battery Type (1,2 or 3) the URX-P03D will not power up on ANY 1.2V battery. Using 1.4V AA is fine. Also I would recommend that you set your power to EXT==>BATT mode so that you can always turn on using external source. We have now confirmed this using two Sony receivers.

Thank you for the video, can I use two transmitters sending to one reciever?
I have the lavalier and the cindencer mic and I want to use them simultaneously,
If yes, can I use the same reciever came with the lavalier or the condincer mic or there is a dedicated reciever to do that? thank you

Hi Suliman - this can be achieved through a two-channel receiver such as our URX-P03D

This receiver really burns through batteries, even with just a single channel turned on. What's the projected battery life?
On another note. Thank you for some great information, but please pick up the pace in future videos. The slow delivery and pregnant pauses really make this video feel unnecessarily long.
