- Rare Star Notes Found Searching 1,500 $1 Dollar Bills
I'll be looking through $1,500 worth of $1 Bills from my local bank. All of these $100 $1 Bill straps were picked up straight from the bank right after someone dropped them off from their car wash businesses. I typically have better luck when searching federal reserve notes strapped by the Federal Reserve rather than by the bank employees, but I could not turn down searching these notes!
We're hoping to find more rare star notes, any valuable old bills, or any fancy or cool serial numbers in these circulated stacks of bills.
I hope you enjoy this bit of bill hunting with me. I was happy to not only find some $1 star notes, but a few rare star notes as well!

Web notes are a type of United States currency named after the "web printing production" method of printing on continuous rolls of paper. Between 1992 and 1996, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing experimented to see if a web press that used continuous rolls of paper was quicker and cheaper than intaglio printing, which uses flat sheets. The notes produced were dollar bills from Series 1988A, Series 1993 and Series 1995. They are legal tender and are not considered error notes, although they are somewhat scarce and more valuable than bills produced by the sheet fed method.

My best cool serial number is a six in a row 2006 $1 note and the serial number is 55555568
This one dollar store note doesn’t come up at all on this website and I did enter the serial number right way
20 star notes in 15 straps is beyond outstanding. Congrats!!
So, on a whim, I went to the bank in Willis and decided to pick up a strap of $2 bills.
When I got them, I found that they were uncirculated, from 2017, and printed in a 32k run (the first run of the 2017 series).
As I am checking them, I hit a gold vein, an entire sheet of low serial star notes rating super rare on the star note checker website, score!

Rob, I have to ask, why can’t you save ONE 1988 One Dollar Bill even though it is not a web note? You basically are sending it to the slaughter house, and you would want to save them anyway, because they are already hard to find. Bills are now mostly 2009, 2013, or 2017. SAVE THEM WHILE YOU CAN!

Me neither. I’ve been expecting it though… last year was 2017.
I used to do bill searches around this size 2-3 times a week looking for star notes, older series, and new series as they were released to enter into Where’s George. I’d also look for cool serials to sell on the forums there. Pretty fun way to make some beer money and get some bill entries. Lol

What a coincidence - I just found two 250k run / 10.99 printed star notes for the first time yesterday. They were only two numbers off from each other and I was hoping I had found a stack of them, but I'll take the two :) Thanks for sharing, these are always fun video's to watch.

That was a fun hunt. Almost Ironic when a mostly coin channel finds the first 2021 Series notes. Found a 1951S Quarter yesterday; hoping that the silver makes it way into your rolls too.

Rob, how often do you do a live half dollar Hunt?
Since there are 4 possible spots to be any of 9 numbers and be an almoster, there are at least 36 times as many almosters as finds, not even counting the number of radars and repeaters that people have pulled from circulation. I'd have bought all of those notes -- I mean what's the harm, you just bring em back if they have been picked through.
