This are real man's motorcycles, cafe racers never gets old
I was one of these. Great times.
No helmet, no problem but no goggles? Bumblebee in to eye 100 mph, sure hurt. Oh, I get it! You have another one.
The film was shot on the A20 between Wrotham and Brands Hatch. This part of the A20 was for many years used by bikers for road racing as a result the hill on the other side of Brands Hatch heading towards London was called Death Hill and was only renamed by the local council around 20 years ago.
I bet the dude on the BSA with no helmet or goggles had a sore eyes after a short distance .... good bit of film though
Great to see these guys getting the breeze on their knees. In the States, many of us wanted either a Triumph, Norton, or BSA. No Vincent’s or really any other classic Brit bikes in the middle of the country, before the Japanese invasion. Still love them as much as Harley’s and other American brands, if not more. Someday the TT trip will happen.
Genuine ton up boys on genuine cafè racers!!
The bike were so much quieter then 😴😴😴 only joking , great bikes , great times .
This film cannot be any older than 1959, because a Mini is shown going by near the beginning.
Love those drop bars.
USA Here!
British and American bikers back then look so much cooler than American and British bikers do now. now they all ride what look like sports shoes..
I found my father's helmet and boots and a camera.which he used to ride on R.E bullet those days.
I sold my 62 Golden Flash 10 years ago and still miss it :(
Brilliant clear historical footage of bikes and road scenes from the late 50s
Very nice bit of film, better with sound though
Always still amazes me what my dad and sisters were riding in England and what my Mum was riding here in Australia before they got married compared to the monsters like the Kawasaki Z1 and Z1300 I was riding in the late 70s and early 80s.
I was not even born then but Rock'n'roll, brittish bikes and booze were my live up till now.
