What I was hoping to say with the video and thumbnail choice is that Gyuri doesn’t need to compete with Jia. Gyuri is much more charming when we see moments of her true self coming out rather than when she’s trying to emulate Jia. The guy spends the whole date focused almost solely on the other girl. It was quite obvious and a bit awkward that Jia was a third wheel. She realized fairly quickly and just transitioned to enjoying the food. This is the closest to "humbling" I can remember. Like aizzaasen6465 mentioned, she wasn't really arrogant to begin with.

I agree. GyuRi was not being authentic on the first day. She was trying to make a confident and mysterious first impression, but she went too far. She thought she could rest on her looks, but quickly found out that men value personality and friendliness too.

I find that so unfair, Gyuri is so much more reserved, quieter and calmer than the other girls. She literally introduced herself as shy and how was she inauthentic, she was already trying to be nice and friendly to Minwoo on the first day they both got left behind despite him not choosing her back.
Plus I still fail to see how she could have heard Hyeseon whispering the compliment to herself while looking away from Gyuri. I was shocked when the hosts said that and am still shocked that people believe the hosts. I guess if you want to hate on someone, you will believe every bad thing said about them.
She also had the misfortune of being put up against the two most bubbliest girls of the group. Like if she was with Hajeong and Sieun instead, she may have had a better first impression.

Gyu RI may be quiet, introverted, and all of those things, but that doesn't mean that she can't make herself look more approachable to compensate for it. I am an introvert myself, so I know that we adapt to at least looking more inviting because we aren't super chatty. Gyu Ri was so focused on looking perfect the first day that she was standing in the crane position trying to look so sophisticated (like she was at a pageant or something, lol), and she was trying really hard to make aloof facial expressions like Song Jia, but failed miserably. It was all calculated. I mean, she couldn't even bring herself to say a simple "thank you" when the radiant Hye Seon said she was pretty, which speaks volumes. 🤔

There's been a lot of mistranslations in the show and while most of them are pretty good, Gyuri did not say that Hyeseon did not make much of an impression. She said "한분은 그냥 인상이 좋으시더라," which means "One of them just had a good impression/energy." She did mean it in a way as saying that Hyeseon seemed to have good energy and that's it, and that's why she considers herself number one, but "The other didn't make much of an impression" is definitely an AWFUL mistranslation...

I think girls who are trying to emulate Jia actually don't notice that her behaviour is like that because she's an introvert. She wants to participate, she offers help, she cares about others, but she's also shy in a way people see her as unapproachable (maybe up to a RBF?). It takes time (which the program really provides) to see how she's worth taking the chance, but the sisters there want results, not authenticity ;-;

I hate the blatant bias of the commentators and it really shows how it bleeds into the audience 🙄 Gyuri said the exact same thing as Hyeseon but she gets all the flack just because Hyeseon comes off as bubblier and nicer. Really wanted to slap that one guy in the panel.
Gyuri has revealed herself to be quite a badass as the days went by, singlehandedly taking down girls who seemed much stronger/aggressive than her in the game with a calm smile on her face, chasing after minwoo without caring that he seems to be into sieun and actually winning him LOL but again minwoo liked her from the beginning so nobody can say she ruin anything between minwoo and sieun, also not acting like a pickmesha in front of gwanhee when he commented that she is one of his fav among hajeong and hyeseon, and actually getting disgusted with gwanhee lol this girl has game. p/s i finally watched s1/s2 (ik, so late) past few days and I can say that Gyuri and Gia ARE definitely not the same at all, Gia is much more passive when it comes to talking to men but Gyuri is actually pretty direct with Minwoo, but probbaly cos Gia didn't really like anyone in S1 as she quote they are all not her type, so she was not so pro-active, but Gia has a very caring side which I can understand why the men fell for her, like all in all, these two ladies are good in their own ways, so please don't compare... but my fav from S1 is SoYean and S2 is So-Eun+SeJeong - excuse me Sejeong is a goddess, are the men blind or stupid? Gyuri didnt say hyeseon didnt make much of an impression. She said minyoung seemed bright/bubbly and hyeseon made a good overall impression (meaning just seemed like a good person), but that was it and she was superior in terms of attractiveness and looks. Not trying to defend gyuri but just trying to correct errors in translation.

I really liked this video. it's very insightful, unlike some other that I watched which merely focused on someone's beauty and not going beyond that. what you said is what I always thought: being an ice queen, detached, keeping to yourself and not chasing other is attractive but it also doesn't last long in the long run since people get intimidated very quickly. personality is important when you're in a dating show surrounded by equally stunning girls and boys.
I've noticed when Jia enters in the beginning she greeted others, she looks quiet at the first meeting but not a snob type. She interacts with other women, no envy nor competitiveness. She's honest, knows her worth and values, "none of them are my type." Just natural, her personality flows, she's a helper, caring and considerate especially when the "puppy" guy is so defensive about his feelings (anxious/have trust issues) when sharing about his ideal type. Instead of reactive response, I'm impressed how Jia is so consistent with her words, she reassured that she will choose him (altho I don't want her to be with him, he have a negative vibe). Also she is calm, she's very understanding and a good listener. While GyuRi's personality base on my observation and analysis, she's very strategic when it comes to her plans, to have this ideal image. Instead of being confident and humble, she was boastful and see things as a competition in a way that it seems *I'm better than them*, she knows how to play/manipulate but unfortunately it didn't worked as planned. She's not careful nor tactful when sharing her thoughts. When she saw that this type of strategy didn't worked the way she wanted, she switched immediately. Although we don't know her much since it's possible that she's naturally quiet or aloof, since I also find it relatable, it's just the choice of words ( and the competitiveness) that makes her look unpleasant.
Song Jia is that person who is very intelligent, impersonating Jia us truly difficult, she knows what she is doing, & quickly analysis what results she will get if she acts like this, no one is like her ❤

Yeah I agree. Hajeong is beautiful, elegant, she's funny and she is also girl's girl unlike Minji. Eventhough Hajeong, Hyeseon & Minji liked the same person, Hajeong has never done anything weird / pathetic to get Gwanhee's attention. Frrrr she ws so charismatic, I didn't like her in the beginning but she quickly grew on me when she came to Inferno. I can't wait to see her among the panelists on the next season! I wish they had allso invited that pilates girl from S1 who has very less screen-time.
Honestly i think the first episode Gyuri was trying to act like someone else or like people say like Jia, or perhaps it could be evil editing done to her but it just felt weird and ingenuine and her expressions seemed so forced and it just felt uncomfortable watching her. But right after she got rejected I feel like that's when she slowly showed her genuine and true personality more, even tho some parts still felt like she was forcing her expressions a certain way, to look cold or mysterious. Then towards the end it felt a lot more natural and she became a lot more likeable and it felt more genuine tbh

Right, exactly! Hyeseon whispered it to herself while looking away from Gyuri too. And Gyuri was sitting two seats away. I was shocked when the hosts said that and instantly had a feeling that they said it to make her look bad on purpose. They wanted Gyuri to be "the bitchy one" but she's too nice and kind that they had to create false narratives.
Also accusing her of changing up jer strategy, she was already nice and opened up to Minwoo on that first day they got left behind, despite Minwoo not choosing her back. Seriously the show trying to make her look bad

Jia is really confident irl. I didn't watch any single season of single inferno not even the one Jia was in. I know her way before single inferno bc of her yt channel. I always loved her bc of how pure and beautiful she is inside out. She is not arrogant at all. I used to love her videos bc she always talked about how to love yourself, prioritize yourself. She has that natural aura that not only attract men also women at the same time. She is the type of person to always get love and attention. She has no need to act fake to get attention bc she knows her worth and this is what makes her stand out the most ❤
Give up comparing these two girls. Both of them were amazing! Gyuri does not attempt to imitate Jia just because they have similar fashion tastes. Given that Gyuri is a model and has access to high-end brands, you wouldn't expect her to dress badly.

Haven’t watched season 3 yet but Jia just exudeded natural charisma that Gyuri is missing in these clips. Jia acted more natural whereas Gyuri is purposefully trying to act unapproachable. In season 1 at her introduction I did think Jia might be a bit of a mean girl because she gave a strong first impression but she actually was really chill and unbothered and didn’t say anything bad about anyone. She’s just confident.

Good topic. One thing that has bothered me is ppl criticizing Gyuri for being negative about the other girls to the camera initially. All of the girls did it. It seemed like the producers set them up to do it.
But her talk with Minwoo really threw me off. I dont mind arrogant talk since its a freaking tv show but her pressuring and guilting him like that gives major bad vibes, almost like a bully id say. No you clocked it. It is so weird~ how they are behaving. I can only guess they are thirteen and above 17 but i have met girls above that saying andrew tate is a cool guy... so i am scared.. They are really viewing this like a kpop idol, Jia was charming to every boy because she was the prettiest there, if she wasn't then no one would care if they really talking about looks only take you so far but many other cast were so much better then her, when all she did was smile laugh and go back to being serious, and now people are forgetting why we loved her. It was her quick low-key flirtatious and does everything on her pace, calm slow and distance yet ready to listen to u if you speak. The girls letterly want to be her so bad they have subliminals and many weird "u are jia" on the internet. So they really feel like their insecurity can be fix by her, i will make sure no one beats her and no one forget her because i want to be like her so she have to be put up above everyone so when i am close to looking like her i am put up there too "IF". That poor girl has the same charm as she did but just wanted to get things done and over with, none of the guys interest her so she didn't try to force herself to be a extrovert. I feel for Gyuri a bit because even I had went through this stage of trying to be confident and know my worth and confusing it by being arrogant and cocky, which isn’t confidence. I now know that to be confident and give the energy I want to give, I need to learn to love myself because I’m unique and I exist from God, and to love others because they’re unique and they exist from God. It’s much easier than you think to fall into the slope of being rude rather than confident. So I hope she and everyone finds love for themselves and uses it to share with others. Because people that do that are the really attractive and pretty ones 😊 and I also appreciate how this video gave a hope to Gyuri for her to improve and learn, so that others can too.

It’s so unfair and rude of you guys to compare her to Gia. Gyuri is a perosn herself, and she was clearly nervous in this show. She comes off as pretty, and maybe she did think that it would carry her the first day, because that’s what she’s used to. And there isn’t anything wrong in that. Remember how stressed we all get when we start at a new work place or a new school. She feels the same. And she had such a bad start, and felt like she didn’t belong. If Im being honest, all women in singles inferno s1 were JUST as naturally beautiful as jia. Not to say jia wasnt beautiful but all the women had a pretty face and gorgeous figure. What set jia apart was the way she carried herself and personality, as well as how she took care of herself, still leaving room for interest in other men without seeming too desperate. She was also kind to other contestants which was why she wasnt disliked from what I could tell, live laugh love jia 💞
It’s because this inferno3 has so many beauty queens from pageants with the Korean standard of beauty. Whereas prior seasons had more less than ideal looking people like So E and se jeong didn’t stand a chance. So one or two people are dominating due to looks. there were plenty of girls this season with looks that are meeting Korean men’s standard of beauty. Not saying those other girls aren’t beautiful but when one or two girls are standing out a lot compare to the rest creates this monopoly like Jia.
Honestly I don’t understand the hype behind Jia ,she is pretty no doubt but I find her kind of boring ngl,idk why being cold is attractive 🤷🏻♀️

When you are dressed for an event or in a tux do you act the same when all cameras are on you? I can tell you 100% no one is authentic there because of the cameras. It's for the opportunity it brings
