The problem with this is that if your strategy has a 50-60% win rate or lower, you will lose more money because your risk is now equal to or more than what your profits are if you’re selling half of your position and price doesn’t continue up
Agreed! You could also sell half when the market begins to show signs of a pullback, add back in that half at a pullback/retracement, and then if it breaks the high or low of the day or time frame you’re trading, add size further. That way, you’re adding additional size to your winners when the your initial position is further in the green. That could especially make sense when trading options where you’re able to get a better entry point even at the same point on the graph (just the right side of the v vs left) because of the way the Greeks work

it's easy on mt5 just click on the close position button then go to the place where there is lot size and decrease it to 0.5 for a 1 lot time frame then close, half of it (0.5) would close while the other half would remain
The problem with partially closing a trade is that you now have to fight the spreads again, which sucks.
