I often listen to this podcast while working... I'm an attorney and sometimes I need something to brighten the mood. When Dusty started with his Dusty-ology I immediately dropped what I was working on and proceeded for the next twenty minutes to see for myself how true it is. I showed it to my brother who Majored in Math, minored in Physics, and has a Master's in Statistics and his only response was "Looks like some kind of sorcery". God Bless all of you guys. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
As an engineer, Dusty's crazy math theory actually blew my mind a little bit. It's now my life goal to discover the mathematic principles behind this numbers phenomenon. I will report back.
I'm genuinely curious.. why can't there be aliens and a God that created them too? I personally believe in God AND I believe in aliens . I believe God created all. I guess I'm confused why some are against this without any concrete evidence otherwise?
The whole Terri -Ology thing reminded me of a day when I was in first grade and thought I had discovered that we only have nine fingers. I asked the teacher to go use the restroom and I was sitting there in the bathroom and began to count my fingers and was flabbergasted that I kept ending on nine. I eventually realized I shouldn’t start out with zero.😂
Dusty coming up with genius math in one breath, then saying that he likes to think aliens are “less smarter” than us in the next breath is peak Nateland Podcast.
I can’t get over someone saying Bate’s is “the condescending one” and especially that he specifically aims it at Dusty 🤣🤣 Bates is clearly a huge Dusty fan and these guys all rag on each other constantly, Bates quite possibly the least so. I think all parties of the BAND are harmonizing perfectly 🤌🏻
I didn't like Bates at first, but he is easily my favorite now. His entire existence is hilarious, and when he finally does get a word in, he will deliver some ZINGERS. The fact that people are texting him commentary directly is just the cherry on top, I genuinely cackled at that revelation. Love Bates and the entire crew
I could tell Aaron was so proud of himself for finally holding it together when Dusty started the Athletic Greens ad read, then Dusty looked at him and it was all over.
As a Christian and big fan of Scripture, I really enjoyed y'all riffing on the Israelites crossing the Red Sea. I don't know if it would be too controversial, but I would love a Bible episode! Regardless, I appreciate y'all being open about your faith and love the podcast.
Nate definitely has the best fan base of any comedian & podcast.....Their warmth radiates through everyone of us.....Merry Christmas 🤗 ya'll. Every year is a blessing.
The math that Dusty discovered is called digital root. It also works with multiplication, subtraction and division for all non negative numbers. It can be used to check your work on a math equation. (If the root numbers on both sides are not the same, you know you made an error). Also, the plot of Good Will Hunting now seems more realistic. The folks out there need to change the Wikipedia page for digital root to say aka “Dusty Math”
Highlighting his advanced paternal age and then pronouncing blessings over each of the guys, Bates really established himself as the Abraham of the podcast!
The Biblical definition of "meek" is to voluntarily restrain power. I think Brad does a great job holding back his comedic power just enough to keep us wanting more.
I’m loving all the conversions to Dusty lovin but wanted to bring light to another demographic, I actually found this podcast because of being a Dusty fan. I’ve seen Dusty live twice, first time in 2019. Been a huge fan ever since and have gotten all my friends and family on board. I’ve also been a Nate fan for a while but didn’t know about this podcast until I was specifically searching for Dusty content. Needless to say I’m a huge fan of the whole BAND now and this is by far my favorite podcast.
Enjoyed this last podcast of 2022! God bless you all and your families. We love you and look forward to the New Year! The show is so fun and welcoming, like we’re sitting with friends! Glad I found you.
I’m proud to say I’m an aspiring Dustyogist! His fresh way of thinking is always so fun to experience. Learning something organically by asking questions and tryin stuff out is way more fun and impressive than learning it in school. Here’s another fun math fact for you, the difference between a 2-digit number and the sum of its digits is always a multiple of 9. Keep it up folks!
I can’t thank y’all enough for starting this podcast. Every Wednesday on my way to work puts me in the best mood. I just watched One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest and their conversations in the group circle reminds me of y’all’s conversation. Baseball bat being Jack Nicholson educating everyone witch facts that no one knows nor cares about. The group has their own opinion which makes it beautiful. Everyone in Nateland is different but somehow works perfectly. Please keep up the great work folks.
Thank you to the camera operator for making sure Aaron is in the frame when Dusty is doing his ad reads. His inability to keep it together is hilarious to me.
I'm just going to say, Dusty is reason I found this podcast. Him and Bryer could start their own podcast. Or atleast a fishing lure company call it Slay Bates
It always blows my mind how often I agree with Dusty. The only exception is his opinion of Christmas. His belief that Christmas is all about consumerism reminds of another person who hated Christmas consumerism so much, he stole his whole town’s Christmas items! However, the next morning he found them singing Christmas praises anyway and realizing his error, he returned all that he took and embraced Christmas forever.
Visualizing Bates slap the microphone against his knee after a joke didn't land had me dying. I would pay to see that as a sketch but only if it was actually Bates he would nail it.
I know I'm 6 months behind...but I used to have a goat named Billy Bob his favorite place was jumping on the hood of my husband's truck. The goat had to move to a friend's farm. I really like being able to watch you guys because you are clean and funny 😁 My friends and family can listen without being embarrassed. Thank you😊
Nateland in a nutshell: What begins as a serious discussion about The Challenger quickly ends up in the guys asking “how tall is Big Bird?” Hard hitting journalism at its finest. Merry Christmas guys! Thanks for the laughs
Thank you for everything this year guys, especially the addition of Dusty! I was a Dusty fan before he joined the podcast, and was daggum delighted to see him on Nateland. thank you for the work you all put in to this and thank you for the laughs. Looking forward to what's to come from all 4!
I LOVED Professor Dusty going off like Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting. He may be a genius! Reminded me of me and my coworker at the bank doing big math problems in our heads for fun like nerds. And then that made me think you guys need to do a Banking episode, and have someone on the pod that ever worked a few years or more in a bank branch. The stories we have are just insane….especially when that branch is in Manhattan. For example…robberies, fake id’s, fraud attempts, employees getting arrested for stealing customer credit cards, homeless people coming to beat me up bc I couldn’t cash their check, customers getting mad and peeing on our couch….shall I go on?
On the way home from Disney's Galactic Starcruiser with my kids a few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to visit Buc-ees in Daytona. My 10 and 12 year old kids LOVED it there- so thanks for making our otherwise amazing Disney trip even better. We drove back home to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina with Buc-ees bites, stuffed animal beavers and our bellies full of brisket. Hope to see ya'll in Johnson City this spring!
I love the cocaine bear segment and Dusty adds in about some good classic rock soundtrack! Breakfast cruises right over Dusty's "some Eric Clapton" comment. Dusty tries again with the bear having sunglasses. Again Bates keeps the wheels moving. Not until Dusty gets his Waylon Jennings comment in does everyone finally credit Dusty. Keep it up folks, Loyal listener since the first show, Bryon
I would love to see a Nateland 4-in-1 special! Think about it… Bates does 5 minutes to open, Dusty kills for a half hour, Aaron gets 5-10 minutes (aka bathroom break for the crowd), and finally Nate closes for as long as he wants!
Con-DESCENDING means you're UP to something. Has got to be the best forgotten line in this whole podcast. It's more genius than anyone is giving it credit for.
I finally made it! I climb through mountains and said "Hey Bear!" to a couple of potential folks, and even saw that man's boy in space! It took me a good 5 months to be caught up with the nateland lore before 2023. I had to put nateland at 1.5x speed to accomplish this goal. Don't worry I watched them at normal speed up until 108. I even used the loser way of enjoying the podcast which is on spotify. The video on youtube is so much better seeing the reasonable searches of Aaron's crack me up on Episode 124 Aaron searches "balloon boy" and the results shows an animatronics from a game back in my day called "Five Nights at Freddy's". Question, is there still tension between Aaron and Adam Ray from episode 35? That has to be the 2nd best guest from the pod I loved the batter between Adam and Aaron. Since Ray has yet to make another appearance on this podcast the only POSSIBLE outcome is that Aaron is holding a his chest up high and saying "Enough is ENOUGH I DISAPPORVE OR ADAM RAY." Well Happy holidays to all, and I hope you all have a Happy New Year. Thanks for the laughs, Jokes, and death rates. cough cough Barney. Merry Chrismas Nate, Dusty, Barney, and Aaron!
Regarding Dusty’s breakdown of “math”, I think it’s an interesting view. Makes me wonder if our “whole numbers” are more complex than we realize. I’m an insurance consultant and crunch numbers on the daily and this really tripped me up
My wife and I were so excited when we originally saw that Nate was coming to Columbia sc in January, but we were disappointed when we saw that it would be right around our baby’s due date. We couldn’t pull the trigger knowing we could possibly disrupt a show with childbirth. Then you opened a show in Charleston in May and we were able to get tickets! We even splurged to get a bit closer so that we can try to look into “your big dumb eyes,” per your previous special. What’s the craziest distraction you’ve ever had during a show? Thanks for making every week better with laughs.
As soon as I saw the title it made me think about when old buddies and I get together and talk about the things we always thought we would do in life and haven’t and are 10+ years past when we thought we would have.
Thought Dusty would like this! One Christmas Sunday our pastor said said “you know what’s greater than man walking on the moon, One man walking on earth named Jesus”
Hello Folks! I found out about Nate’s new tour while at a hockey game! They were advertising the tour right above the urinals! Can’t wait to see you in Raleigh!
I think the next special should be called Nateland and my husband said “no, Nate says ‘regular person’ so much, he should name his next one ‘just a regular person.’ Or something like that.” And I actually do like that. 😆 Also 1x1 IS 1. Think of it like one, one time, is one, two, one time, is two and so on. Love the show-thanks for making our trip from NC to Maine with two toddlers a little easier.
My son has fallen in love with magic. Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Nate's sister and dad for taking the time to answer questions about a magic themed Christmas gift for my little dude!!
Can we please have more of Dusty reading adds with Aaron in the camera shot? Seriously I love dusty as a comedian, but his skill and enthusiasm when reading adds is awesome.
Give credit where credit is due: Nate detailed where the title for his new special came from. However- he must have completely forgotten the podcast where he was discussing ideas for the title and you guys(Aaron? I think?) suggested that he had TENNESSEE kid and most average AMERICAN...it was time for the next title to include WORLD.
I know there are a lot of comics who think quick on their feet and when it’s done well crowd work can be impressive but most of the time it seems awkward and a little lazy. It’s like when you go to a concert to see your favorite band perform and they hold the mic out for the crowd to sing, I didn’t pay to hear these people sing, I paid to hear your talent! This pod is the best out there! Keep up the good work!
I would buy a shirt that has the word "Enough" written on it. I could wear it professionally to my work Zoom calls , to answer the door when a solicitor rings my doorbell, or to any other unwanted but obligated event I have to attend (like to a friend's wedding that has been married 3x before)! Trademark it Aaron! #Enough
Was listening to this episode on the way to work this morning. Just happened to be at the part where Dusty is doing his math equations when I got to the drive thru window. I could tell the cashier heard me listening to a few guys doing basic math by the terribly confused face she had on. 3/10 for social interactions but 13/10 for podcast content. Gave me a good laugh as I drove away.
Y'all brought up how Jeselnik brings the Mic down to his side after a joke, and it reminded me of something I've wanted to ask for a while. My two favorite comics in the world are Jeselnik and Nate. Which is a little weird considering how different their comedy is. I've always wondered if Nate likes Jeselnik, or if they don't even know each other on a personal level. I know Anthony is different in real life vs his comedy, but either way, his sense of humor is very dark.
I also was not a fan of Dusty joining as a full time host when it was announced. I could not have been more wrong and he has made this podcast even better since he joined! The greatest moment on this podcast was when they discussed Dusty frequently calling 911 when he was younger. If that doesn't make the best of then the list is wrong! Love the show guys and look forward to 2023's topics.
The way Nate and Dusty said they add up numbers in their head is the basis of New Math. It’s designed to teach you how to add / subtract the way your brain naturally would solve the problem. The thought process is to work with your brain’s natural patters. Also a heads up, I have zero background in this what’s so ever so my source would be my own opinion.
i relate to Dusty and his random math equations going on in his head. during soccer matches as a kid i would always do math using the jersey numbers on the field. that stopped happening once i got older, but i thought something was wrong with me for the longest time.
Four middle-aged men completely unaware of the significance of "Hello World" in the software world is the epitome of this podcast. How has no one mentioned this to him?
Sesame Street in space is a great idea. However, Aaron didn't read the star Sesame Street character everyone wants to see in space, Slimey the Worm! There was an entire story arc where Oscar the Grouch's worm, Slimey, goes to the moon. It was even cleverly named "Slimey to the Moon" (a play on Sinatra's "Fly me to the Moon"). Also, Dusty called big bird a "cartoon character." I know he's prone to be convinced, but good night! I'll go proofread this now.
I'm told "Bigfoot" prefer to be called "The Ancient Ones" and they use inter-dimensional portals. A lady who lives nearby talks about many encounters she's had
I often listen to this podcast while working... I'm an attorney and sometimes I need something to brighten the mood. This comment is everything. Thanks for sharing!
"some kind of sorcery" lol
As an engineer, Dusty's crazy math theory actually blew my mind a little bit. It's now my life goal to discover the mathematic principles behind this numbers phenomenon. I will report back.
Google digit sums. Works with multiplying the digit sums too.
Digital root
Absolutely love Dusty's love of the Lord and his comment on not giving aliens credit that belongs to God!! Great show guys.
YES! We just talked about this over on Folkland. Team Dusty!
I'm genuinely curious.. why can't there be aliens and a God that created them too? I personally believe in God AND I believe in aliens . I believe God created all. I guess I'm confused why some are against this without any concrete evidence otherwise?
“I don’t take credit away from God to give it to Aliens” is the best quote of this podcast.
I don't think they know the actual definition of "conspiracy".
It’s the most insane thing I have ever heard. Lol
This comment should have 27K likes brother. Truth!
Credit to Brian for being really the mastermind behind this podcast, steering this silly ship and doing SO much work behind the scenes. Yay Brian!
The whole Terri -Ology thing reminded me of a day when I was in first grade and thought I had discovered that we only have nine fingers. Dusty coming up with genius math in one breath, then saying that he likes to think aliens are “less smarter” than us in the next breath is peak Nateland Podcast.
The fact that people are literally texting comments to Bates directly is the most Bates thing to happen.
I can’t get over someone saying Bate’s is “the condescending one” and especially that he specifically aims it at Dusty 🤣🤣
Bates is clearly a huge Dusty fan and these guys all rag on each other constantly, Bates quite possibly the least so. I think all parties of the BAND are harmonizing perfectly 🤌🏻

We agree. That's why we started a podcast about this podcast :)
Nate is so talented and funny. His humility shines so bright with all the uh's when talking about himself and his special.
Formulate ah thought ah before ah fucking ah speaking ah if it’s ah your job ah
Yeah he is so talented and humble, especially compared to other successful folks.

Every AG ad read between Dusty & Aaron makes every episode that much better. Thanks for the guaranteed laughs, men. Merry Christmas!
Turns out Dusty was the REAL Secret Genius the whole time.. #Dustyology
I swear Dusty was going to say "with just one fell scoop" of Athletic Greens!! 🤣🤣 Love you guys!
These guys are just the sweetest :) Thanks for the year of fantastic listening gentlemen, you made my year better .

Insomnia stinks. It's good to have something to help pass those hours.
Couldn't sleep tonight so finished this episode. Thanks for keeping me company, guys.

Hello World, a slight nod to "Hello Folks" as well. Can't wait!
The whole time Nate is telling his Tiger Woods story you can see blueberry in the background, just itching to ask Nate if he got Tiger’s autograph

Congratulations to everyone! I hope your predictions for 2023 come true Brian!
I need that Dusty math paper please! Is he factoring?
When Tiger comes on the podcast:
Breakfast: Tiger, so how far can you hit a golf ball?
i relate to Dusty and his random math equations going on in his head. during soccer matches as a kid i would always do math using the jersey numbers on the field. that stopped happening once i got older, but i thought something was wrong with me for the longest time.
Hello folks, bilingual Canadian here: aux means with and it's pronounced "oh".

Breakfast is just being sarcastic, not condescending....except those times when he's being condescending. Lol Don't ever change Buzzsaw!
Tiger is probably on the Mt. Rushmore of American sports (Ruth, Jordan, Ali, Tiger(?)). Cool that you got to meet him.
