I like how through out the whole movie the dragon never once went out of her way to kill the main character, because this has happened hundreds of times and not once has a princess actually escaped
i love how the dragon was never killed for just wanting to avenge her lost babies, and in the end she ended the her own cycle of pain by leaving the cave i think the dragon had the best character development in the entire movie
A good example of a dragon that is extremely fast in flight. Not a lumbering beast ill-suited to its own hunting grounds. The breath being more lava than fire is a nice touch.
Kinda amazing that she had just 6 minutes of screentime and has still the biggest character development of the movie. Still kinda dissapointing that she has just 6 minutes.
@@immagical7036 Yep, it is really neat. unfortunately I can't watch movies with bad science in eithe rphysics or biology because it irks me. it's different if there is an explanation (like technology we don't have/don't understand) but when it's something set closer to modern times I can't watch it or i lose my mind. Example being a movie like fury. with the panzer 4's cosplaying as tigers and the m3 cosplaying as a sherman. This dragon is reasonable and she has a very strong sense of justice. Once she figured out that the king tricked her into murdering innocent women, she wanted to be slain as retribution for the suffering she caused. Smaug doesn't care at all about who he kills, he will burn a whole city as an example for the ones who wronged him. All he wants is more gold to horde.
Kinda doubt it, Smaug has a huge ego and doesn't get along with humanoids no matter what. This dragon just didn't get along with humans because they killed her baby, Smaug will kill unprovoked.
Bro, the sheer size differences between Damgon (Damsel+Dragon) and Smaug is huge. It's like comparing a cat and a bear, this difference alone is enough for Smaug to just smoke her whenever he's in the mood for it, and by instinct alone I think Damgon would be careful to not trade blows with him, and keep away from it.

When you see her in full action you realise she was never fully trying to kill Elodie she prolonged it for what ever reason she had It's almost like she gave them the chance to evade and escape which was not given to her children
to all those crapping on the dragon being "killed by it's own fire" I would assume what happened was one of two things (you can see similar things happen when hydraulic fluid ignites). Option 1: the sac was pierced and the fire she spat ignited the fluid on the ground which subsequently ignited the fluid leaking out (it's not just blood, it's the napalm too which is highly combustible as we see) and then of course that fire trailed back to the source and surrounding area (internal fluid which would run out of oxygen faster leading to internal burns but not quite as severe). and because this is a liquid we can assume it's the same thing that happens to plate mail (again historically dousing knights with burning oil was common because it slides through the cracks and cooks the soft fleshy bits underneath). Option 2: the lung was penetrated and the dragon inhaled. why would the dragons internal organs needs to be immune to fire? it only would come into contact externally, right? so the dragon spews fire, ends up gagging due to the lung being stabbed (meaning the fluid is just blood) and inhaling involuntarily (think water going down the wrong pipe). in which case it would have inhaled the fluid that as passing from the sac and the ignited fluid causing a chain reaction down it's aesophagus where the fluid mixes with and oxidizes with the remaining air in the dragons lungs (which would be proportionate to the dragons size so that's a lot of oxygen). if it's only one lung chances are it would still survive but be agonizing. Either way, wasn't defeated by it's own fire. was defeated by a lucky shot to either the fluid sac that holds the napalm or the lung.
