Is the BMW M3 Touring the ultimate fast estate car? Let us know your thoughts...
Yes, if you can stomach the £100k price and mpg.
Yes
Interior spoils it. You’ll notice it in the day to day use. Bland boring dash and touch screens for every control is horrible. Give me tactile knobs and buttons 2:28
M-Sport design ethos has been forgotten by BMW. The designers should look for alternative work.
Nah, rs6 has better looks, more boot space, better interior, same performance
Fantastic car, just wish it had an analogue instrument pack, BMW digital dsplays are the worst in the business :(
Behind the B-pillar, I think you may have meant
I recognise those roads, my local favourite set of bends!!
Mr JWW and Gercollector have purchased this as their daily speaks volumes considering the cars they own.
I get why they only released it now, 50 year anniversary and what not. But I don't think I'm alone in saying that a F-series M3 touring would've been EPIC. Just would've looked a million times better. Maybe no X drive wouldve been an issue for some but that'd be the one I'd pick
I think the zf transmission is perfect for this car ,gives close to double clutch change but the practicality an slow speed, and creeping in traffic😊
Ben Barry, M3, oversteer. Order has been restored 👍
Audi are now hoping that BMW don't release a M5 competition Touring!
Headphones 🎧 you can heard the glassware gently rattling!
Mine was due to arrive in September but I just couldn’t do it… took a deal on the M340i Touring LCI…more comfortable
Fair enough, you’ve still got a lovely car 👌👌
Why they haven't been making these since the e36 I'll never know.
It's a serious candidate for the one car garage. Except one thing. You can spend lots of money on every option you can or cannot imagine, but seats will always be 'one size fits all'. Bespoke seats, please. This buckets are so beautiful that BMW is missing an opportunity here by not offering them in different sizes. Is that carbon thing in the middle of the seat of any practical significance? Six point harness, perhaps.
I'm of the opinion that a F81 workshop made with a 6MT or M-DCT, or a current B3 or B5 touring would all be better. You don't get the front nose and if you prefer comfort and AWD go with either of the Alpinas and if you want fun go with the F81.
The alpina really has to be a good price though. Its got what some wheels badges brakes? Lite tune? Mmmmm might as well get a 340i touring and mod it yourself. The nose tho youre right is really like fuck man its horrible honestly. Csl grill plus the csl hood fix it a bit but not enough.
@@stefanfreestylez Doesn’t the Alpina have a retuned S58 M3 engine for less power but more torque as opposed to a tuned up B58 from the M340i
@@888mattd no it has b58 sadly 😕 idk who would even look at this thing if the alpina had the s58
@@stefanfreestylez no, it has the s58 with smaller turbos - 498 bhp and 730nm torque, 80nm more than the M3. It also has the brakes from the 7 series, and different springs and exhaust. The ZF 8 speed usedto the one in the 340i too.
@@stinkycatman ya the new one got the s58🙌🙌🙌
mpg? thinking of moving from m340i touring across....
Our family car is the X4M Competition. Im guessing it's only slightly heavier. If fuel consumption is a box you need ticking, then dont even bother. I dont even check the MPG as it will just give me a reason to part ways (Im in denial)😆 We dont do crazy miles... school runs, sainsburys, etc, and that's easily £100 a week. If I'm taking it on a spirited road trip, then I can do that in a couple of days😰. By all accounts, the M340i is a great compromise. I just wanted to tick the M box on my bucket list at least once in my life before the world goes electric 🤷♂️
A whooping 135 kg extra? Sorry but it's actually only 85 kg more than the Saloon (1,940 to 1,855 kg). It's true that M isn't about lightweight these days, but credit where credit's due …
Bring this car to the U.S BMW
What a car! I wont one
It’s only 85 Kg heavier than the saloon
And top speed is 180 mph
Can I delete the motors for the hatch & rear seatback, saving 50kg or so..? 😊
Jeez they’re on a slippery slope aren’t they
This or the B3 Touring...? 🤔
I’m trying to force myself to like the front, still don’t know
Pounds, not Kilos.
Do you mean "B pillar"?
I think he knows what he means
@@usman1alam Thanks for your help. Do YOU know what he means, when describing the C pillar while examining the B pillar?
@@sgabriel why don't you make your own video on the g81 m3?
@@usman1alam I love this SO much!
This needs 6mt and physical buttons. Otherwise meh.

Still can‘t get over how ugly the frontend is. Really wanna like it but can‘t..
If you can afford a new M3 touring, I’m sure you can afford to have 2 cars in your garage.
Fair point!
Depends on where you live... in London, I have the salary for an M3 Touring, but I don't have a garage... that why I have a fifth hand E90 M3 (with the optional folding down rear seats)!
@@tahseensiddique9446 fifth hand

I love the idea of a sporting wagon. But this one doesnt appeal. It's ugly as sin in front, costs 100K+ and only comes as an automatic. And as fast as it is, it lacks properly sporting road feel and tactility thanks to electric power steering and many computer interventions.
I'm sure that many people will like it, but count me out.
If you want a fast but ugly 4x4 estate why not just get a Golf R estate? More boot space with seats up or down and half the price.
One ugly estate/ wagon
Always love a Q car like the Audi RS4 or Passat R36 or Golf R Touring, but this G81 M3 is simply too ugly and mated to the wrong gearbox
😆 3 series for £100K.......... fucking JOKE.
What an ugly car. Man I want one. Sucks we can’t get in USA.
Ugly car, too expensive and i think the designers have forgotten the M series design brief, i would rather have a BMW M8 at this price point !!!
take a short break when transitioning to the next point, talking way to fast, can't keep up.
