    Nice job (again), Alex. Appreciate the cut-in pics for the areas you couldn't dig into given the show. This "class" of boat (Jeanneau 695, 795 & 895 along with Beneteau's parallel product line) seem multi-useful and cost effective. Please ask the MB&Y chaps what they think of doing a comparison assessment. Lots of interest in these.

    13:47 the sheer genius of the “I must fit everything in” by the designer…
    The 12v power socket will be neatly obscured immediately you drop a beverage in the cup holder to the left of the wheel. Just one of the many oversights

    It's basically a slightly rethought Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795.
    Anyone interested should opt for the 250hp outboard - you'll want that extra grunt.
    The toilet is ok for anyone below teenage years.
    You'll likely have a lean to port if carrying multiple passengers unless you get trim tabs.
    Notes from a mostly content J795 owner!

    A great weekender

    No, I want to see the 7, even cheaper... Anyway, nice to see some reasonably priced boats on the channel!

      More importantly, you can legally tow the 7 in the UK with a car licence (you might need to get some bobbins on, but doable). The 8+ requires HGV qualifications to trailer.

    I'd be happy to have some fun on this one and the price seems reasonable too. 👍❤️🇬🇧

    Nice tour. What is the difference versus a Merry Fisher 795? They seem very similar at first glance.

      Certainly not any big differences

      I have a MF 795 series 2 and it seems a much cleverer design with better use of space and features.

      @@Steve-jq4st Please explain further. There are some MF795 finishing details I prefer but the design functions see almost identical to me. This (and the MF795) are on my short list so more info would be most welcome.

      The BIG difference is the MF is walkaround pilothouse. That's great for access if (for example) you're fishing in rough seas, the downside is you lose cabin space. This is a cabin cruiser. You have to go "on" not "in" the boat to reach the bow. That's something to avoid if you have rough conditions or disabled/frail guests, but the upside is you get a bigger cabin.

    why is it that many of these boats, including "new," have what looks like mold on surfaces when you open up the deck lockers?

  • @ijoseluis

    Petrol engine?!

    Good value and surprisingly spacious, would like to see some form of shower, but 🤔

    Nice review of a very practical boat, Alex. But I'm always struck by one thing in your reviews. It's 2023. Could you not refer to seats as "two-person" instead of "two-man"?

    • @alexsmith3945
      @alexsmith3945 Před rokem +2

      Good point. You may see another five or six reviews that I've already done where that's repeated. On future pieces, I'll do my best to break the habit.

    • @darthkek1953
      @darthkek1953 Před rokem +4

      @@alexsmith3945 One of your charms was to use "two man" seats. Man is a universal term, as in "mankind".
      "Person" is an inherently gendered term, rooted in Greek Goddess Persephone.
