Seeing that Bridge that was washed away, or rather the road was something else. The power of mother nature.
I remember well driving through the fire at approximately 25.5 while it was in full burn. I had to keep my son calm (asbergers) while negotiating the highway and avoiding flames last summer. Luckily we had God or one of His angels riding with us. We were housed in Chilliwack at the beautiful Coast Chilliwack and treated like royalty by all the staff. ESS in Chilliwack was fast efficient and caring. We drove through this area at night so it made those flames look even more ominous.
oh my so Wonderful to See and Hear Cookie Monster, my dad's favorite thing is Cookies!!
Be the day that I'd live in my truck for having breakfast lunch and supper. That's what restaurants are for.
The routes we run here we often don't have access to restaurants. Very few truck stops, most nights are spent in random pullouts, not even rest areas.
thats called hard work dept of h w guys made sure your good got where they need to so ty to all their hard work
Man I love this show. And the ice truckers. I wish I discovered this show years ago but better late than never. It's real men's work no nonsense job.
It can be a challenging highway
@@JuanRempel hey that girl Lisa Kelly is awesome. She puts a lot of Men to shame. I watch Highway thru Hell every morning at 4am. It's become one of my favorite shows. Jamie Davis and big Al with the green truck and all the other fellas are awesome dudes. I love the name of the highway too. The Coquihalla
@@JuanRempel I love the show
@@michaelwyckoff7593 I see Al and Jamie and the crew from time to time.
i giggle like a teenage girl every time i hear that road called highway through hell..it is such a gorgeous easy drive most of the time, wide lanes easy cornering . great views ... rest areas frequently... with the exception of the nasty ruts leaving merritt heading south the roads in good condition.
Yea, highway 1 through canyon or the hop Princeton are a lot less forgiving. The only thing that makes the Coq challenging is navigating around the first timer flat landers.
Thanks for sharing this video with us 🇺🇸 looking forward to seeing more great videos.
I do a daily vlog, but I sure do like the stormy and or challenging videos the most.
Just some history of the Coq. When that road was constructed it was said this road went thro a very high snow fall area thro the pass. It follows some of the old Kettle Valley rail line
Thank you for the trip. It reminded me of when I went with my Uncle on a run.
I love the stormy days the most
That Shoulder view is cool.
This was beautiful. Almost no trucks on the summit, almost white road, and stunning view
Yea, this is one of my favorite Coq videos I've ever shot.
Thanks for the rde Juan/,,,play safe
Love the sound of your tractor when it’s gearing down. She sure love to growl!
Every respect to you driving that in those conditions. I’ve delayed this years road trip as it included the damaged roads. Expecting road works, delays and diversions.
Yea, I won't drive in this personally, not worth the risk. But fright has to keep moving and the risk is my bosses.
Ya scary assed stuff, I get white knuckles in that in my little 4x4 I can’t imagine driving that big rig there
It's like anything, when you do it enough you get comfortable with it, but never comfortable with it. I figure once I'm comfortable on slippery roads It's time to quit, because that will kill you fast.
I loved that run, up through the connector in summer, but soon as the white hits it's a different story, you can see who's got balls and experience and who isn't. Fun time when i did it.
It can certainly be a challenge
Like _"icing"_ on the trees - snow-cake...
I ran the Coke in the 90s and up to about 2012 pulling tanker out of Lethbridge AB year round . Your video brings back lots of memories of that road . Seems it hasn't changed all that much. Can't say I miss it . Retired now after 50 years of driving truck!
Really, the only thing that has changed is the removal of the toll boths.
@@JuanRempel I was still driving the coke then and a few years after them being removed. That was sure nice.
I think I’m gonna end up leaving the same comment on all your videos at this rate…….
Stunning, simply stunning. Canada sure is a beautiful country and BC has to be one of the most beautiful provinces and as a mountain girl, born in highlands of Scotland it just takes ,y breath away
Lots of love
Hey, copy and past that into every video still helps my channel out so go for it lol
@@JuanRempel lol
"Inexperienced Mountain drivers".... in winter? Now THATS scarey!
Stay safe my friends, and roll them hills slow
Yep, they are about to open this highway to the general public...I predict it will be closed due to accidents every day.
1:31:22 The scenery is magnificent with the snow covered tree's, they look like walls beside the road.
It was great that you recorded the drive over the repaired coquhalla in the heavy snow. I'm glad that I wasn't driving. Thanks 👍
It was that perfect type of storm, bad enough to be interesting but not bad enough to be stressful.
I'm loving this video
That was amazing! Thank you.
You are so welcome!
That was a very beautiful ride along, but looks like it could be very unforgiving if you’re not 100% paying attention. Thank you.
Yep, not much room for mistakes.
A lot of snow piled up. It's really amazing. Here in Jeju Island, it melts quickly even if it snows. It seems very difficult to cross snow-covered mountains by truck. I'll come back with another video. I used a translator.
Yes, we get a lot of snow here in the Mountains
Kenworth worked her heart out climbing those hill's last week but she did, slowly 😁
A section of Othello road was obliterated, along with an area of housing.
I love the sound of the truck
The sound kind of sucks on my laptop, but when I play it at home with the dub woofer, yea she sounds good.
@@JuanRempel this was a great video I could almost smell the snow. I miss snow, very relaxing
It’s fun when your heavy!🤓🇺🇸🇨🇦
Sure is.
Great video thankyou. See you tomorrow evening 👋
They have done an amazing job of reopening the h'way
Re: Hyway thru hell. Now, if we saw you drive by when the they where filming, I'd watch it 😉
after 1500 trips up and down "the smasher", i still find it daunting in severe weather. the weather changes fast on that hill, so always be prepared for a white knuckle experience.
But if your white knuckling it, it would be advisable to pull over and take a break.
That was a top video and drive.
In a Perfect world...The Coq. would be for Transport and Buses only.
😂 then you be on a bus 🚌 not 🚫 car 🚗 huh
be careful no slip on ice
my first chance to see how the ol coq is doin, thanks for posting this
Heading west after you pass under the long snowshed where the canyon is fairly narrow glance across and on the wall you can see what appears to be a roadbed, it was, the C P rail had a line that climbed up there it connected the coast with the Okanagan and on to Calgary and north to the Thompson valley and south to the U. S.. I worked on the passenger trains from Van. to Penticton
Oh wow, that must have been a bit of a grade from the Othello tunnels
🐨 Good Monday evening Juan
Loved every minute of it.
So cool seeing the Coq in winter like watching Highway thru Hell I kept looking for Al Quiring or Gord near the snowshed lol nice driving video
Yea, you see the famous tow trucks from time to time.
@@JuanRempel I drove the Coq last in summer 2019 sad to see the power of mother nature vs man made bridges & structures. I always wondered what it was like driving truck in winter in BC. How do you not get "snow blinded" not seeing the road? I was gritting teeth a few times in that video! 😁
I also have met Jaime Davis in Alberta, my son loves all the heavy wreckers
Yea, the bright snow makes it hard, use sunglasses à lot during the winter.
@@aryu-bts6137:14 7:32
my friend you have great skills driving in those conditions stay safe david from england
I'm not unique, 100s of drivers out here more skilled then I, but I thank you.
Wow … that looks scary. I’d be doing 30 miles an hour or less thru that snow
Yea, that would be a good speed, you have to be really careful not to go to slow on this highway. If you go to slow you start sliding sideways due to the step angles.
I think it might be called the highway through hell from all the truckers that don't chain up, don't know how to chain up, on the smasher.
Oh. A minute later you said just that.
LOL, yep, i think thats probably it.
Ain't that title right 😱😰😱
Oh my lawd.
November 2023 👍👍🇨🇦
This was shot in Jan 2022
1:06:30 Wow lot's of trucks chaining up
Is it alright if you tell us what gear setting your in and rpm’s🤗🇨🇦 Michigan
Awesome video and I love it. Are you driving a Kenworth truck ? I loves trucks.
Kenworth W900L
@@JuanRempel Awesome. The Kenworth trucks are my favorite.
I'm glad that the Coquihalla is open again. I watched the videos about the flood damage here on CZcams. Please stay safe.
Say hi to Jamie Davis Rescue out there.
I don't see Jamie very often, but sometimes I get to say hi while fueling up at the Hope Flying J
1:08:20 It's really snowing!
Did you see any of the highway thru hell tow trucks like Jamie Davis towing or mission towing
No, not on this run, but i do get to chat with them from time to time.
😂 ya no why its called coca holla ya spill ya coco then ya holler
Oh no, not my hot coco
1:22:27 - Ice-falls 😉
Hey dude, first let me say be safe, how is it living there in BC and is it as dangerous as they show on Tv
TV show is ridiculous, but they have to hype up everything to make it exciting.
Yay Washington 🙃🙂🙃
Movie length video 😁
Howdy Cookie 🍪 Monster 🍪 👻
Does this Hyway even have any Truck Stops along it??
No truck stops, there are 2 rest areas, but one os at the very busy break check.
@@JuanRempel Thank You
Good bye Cookie 🍪 Monster.
Yup not a plow in sight
I think they blew the budget early, in December there were plows every where, now they are an endangered spices.
You defend them but they will point the finger at you if there’s an accident! Get smart tell it like it is!!!!!!
nice view count....
Yea, this one was pretty popular
Turn your blinker off come on
