      @@viniciusmarcellino No, it isn't. John Williams always intended for it to be played by four guys, because that's how it's performed in-universe. The idea behind the piece was what it would sound like if aliens from the future discovered a Benny Goodman jazz piece and tried to interpret it. Calling this the "complete version" is second-guessing Williams.

    • @effyleven
      @effyleven Před 5 měsíci

      @imfsresidentotaku9699 I will admit that the orchestra did pretty well, considering the difficulty of so many instrumentalists endeavouring to remain so PRECISELY synchronised as this particular number requires. They made a valient effort, and that is to be applauded... All the same, I think this rendition demonstrates that the symphony orchestra is not the right 'instrument' for all kinds of music.
      To be honest, I find that massive church organs in massive reverberrant spaces, like, say, inside a cathedral, (just as a suggestion) also totally "scramble" the music being played.... but much MUCH worse than this orchestra trying to play this piece of ragtime. A pet hate is The Entry of the Queen of Sheba, which can be so bad as to be a completely muddled cacophony.... as if all the keys are being played at once.
