video is right on time: my pump has gulped some sand+clay from the river bottom. Disassembled, cleaned - now works as new in spite of 12 years' age.

Regarding the extraction of the defective part, please use a pair of pointed pliers, or a screw extractor.

Great video, but we are unable to troubleshoot our problem. Is an oldish MQ and it is stopping after approx 1/2 gal and start again when drawing water.
Then it will turn on frequently with no taps on. However then it will go for hrs and not turn on by self. I hope we can repair rather than purchase another unit. S. Colorado Suggestions please.

My pump is leaking pretty heavily from the bottom it seems would I be better to get a rebuilt gasket kit for Purchase the Scala 2 ? I am afraid to purchase a new pump for the price and have an issue with it as well.

I have a pump exactly like this .... but there is a problem that starts to start every five seconds, knowing that all the tap is closed and there is no water leakage .... Do you have an idea or a solution 😭

Otherwise, all Grundfos pumps come with a two year warranty. If you purchased your pump from a dealer, please contact them in the first instance, they should be able to help you and get your pump up and running again.

We have a MQ3-45 that is approximately 10 years old. The pump is running constantly but does not create pressure, we have checked for leaks and have found none. Can the pump be fixed?

@@grundfos sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. It turns out I was the problem not the pump. I had the wrong valve open and was trying to pressurize an open loop. closed the valve and the pump reached pressure and stopped. We are back in business. Its a great pump, its too bad you no longer make it.

My pump is always pumping water even when we are not using it there no leek in water no where what could be the reason it’s still on always

Hi. My 12 year old MQ3-45 pump is used to pump 1,000 gallons every 5 to 7 days. The pressure gauge is pressuring to about 70psi, stops like it should, and then leaks down over about 3 to 4 minutes to about 30psi, and kicks on to repressure.
If there are no leaks anywhere, could this failure be the "internal non-return valve?" I only have one pressure gauge on the pump, and I do not have a pressure tank.

As there is pressure loss it could actually be anywhere in the piping, and yes, it might be the non return valve not closing tight. I have a 45 series pump that needs a new stainless front housing. It has corroded and leaks from pinholes. Your web site is difficult to navigate. Just need a contact in California or near by.

The impeller is either loose or spent.

I like how you transition when removing the front seal with the 2 screw drivers to make it look easy …..it’s a pain in the 🤬
