Good video Stavros! Well explained and detailed. I work and live in Canada. I run 2 Volvo trucks doing long haul. I used to live in Ireland. I used to drive a R500 V8 in Ireland. I wish I could get a Scania over here!!

David Warren you can! But i has to be older than 12 years. A 143 500 v8 and a 144 530 is driving around canada. In the US alot of scania trucks are in New Jersey
I think the best overall truck I have ever seen is the Scania S580, it’s simply the best

Such a great video, watched start to finish it was brilliant!
You should come to America on vacation and do some reviews of the equipment we use here. Maybe get with a US CZcamsr and take a run over the Rocky Mountains. The rigs are so different. I love seeing the trucks you fellows use in Europe. I drove a cabover (International) for 7 years all over the US and now you don’t see any here at all. The drivers here hate them but they are awesome in New York City and all the NorthEast US. Maybe the reason they quit using them is because the drivers all got too fat to get in them. When I watched the “Run for Katie” video I notice that when all the drivers were milling around that they appear to be 60 to 100 pounds lighter then a group of US truckers at any us truck stop. Thanks for the videos, great work!

Hands down the ACC and the stationary a.c. function are massive improvements while driving and resting in hot south Europeans countrys like Italy, Spain ecc..

These trucks are nice, but American long haul models have a lot more room in the sleeper.

Fuel consumption is impressive considering you were hauling 10 times the weight of a 4.6 range rover hse that Clarkson measured to do only 6% better mpg!
Stunning in every way - I've always loved Scania you just can't beat them
your fuel economy was crap considering you weren't fully loaded (guessing you arent at full weight as your axle was up all the time), ive got a 2016 R410 and haul at full weight majority of the time and im getting anything from 9.5-11.5, our driver who has a next gen R410 is getting on average 11-12, it seems like a big price to pay for having a V8 when really a 450 with extra options ticked would be better

Ain't bit of a deal breaker there but, the speedometer cluster is better in Scania, but that huge sunroof in the Volvo 😍 Double bunk is practical when you have two drivers on-board.. All in all I like the Scania a bit better.

Isnt it weird you have to pull up the standard still manually and there isnt an electric or hydraulic system for it. Bout the scania i think it is a wet dream for every driver.

great looking truck a couple of questions how is the top cab deflecter adj as in some shots its down and then in others it's raised. You were showing 8.5 mpg but I take it that was with a light load as the lift axle was raised all through the video. still a great looking truck

Get the Scania 500 I6 for 150K $ total price, the V8 of 580 not worth the big bucks,but it is a nice truck. TH
Stavros, what is the average length from the center of the fifth wheel to the nose of the truck. And what is the normal max gross weight allowed on those trucks in general. Thanks for your reviews.

Volvo is better looking from the outside. But Scania wins big from the inside. so yh. Mix them both and we will get a very cool and awesome truck
Then you have Ford cargo. Then you have iveco stralis. The best truck ever made.

I love the FH16. When I play ETS2, I'm almost always in the FH16. I like the interior of the Volvo as well. Don't get me wrong, the Scania is sexy AF. Especially the S580. I wish I could import the S580 over here to the States!

Seems like the business this truck stavros but y do scania still insist on the cut aways behind the seats for the bed. Id say that would be my only gripe with it. The FH and the DAF SSC both have better beds
@@Iceeeen How big is the Scania S bed behind the seats? I know Volvo FH is 70cm, same for DAF XF 106, Scanias website says 80-100cm, but I doubt they managed to add an extra 10cm compared to its main competitors, and it even looks more narrow than the FH or XF 106..

It's not painted on top because it will only get scratched hooking up under trailers.
