Krystle is really good at acting like she's shocked, surprised and undeserving of the ridiculous gifts lavished on her for simply getting pregnant. That "stenographer" (as Alexis derisively called her) only married that old, blue-haired bigot because he was loaded! The "mother Earth" sweetness of the soft-focused lense Krystle was sickening at times. Give it up toots! You were a gold-digger, and everyone knew it! At least Trampy Jo was honest about her greed, scheming, willingness to put out to anything with a few bucks and her inherent sleeziness!
Krystal really loved Blake, and it's sad that you are so cynical you can't see that. She sold the necklace and fur coat a little later on in an effort to help Blake when he went through a rough financial patch. Krystal always stood by Blake when the chips where down (as they were occasionally), and said it was feast or famine with Blake, and she wouldn't have it any other way. She only left him once, and that was because he chastised her in front of Alexis after the lily pond fight,... and he was still loaded. Krystal had dignity and never lowered herself, or allowed any one else to lower her, just for money...unlike her greedy, sleazy niece. When Blake was ill or in any kind of trouble Krystal was always there for him, which is how he eventually realized Rita wasn't Krystal. Krystal's behavior was of a loving and devoted wife, and never that of selfish , gold digging Sammy Jo.
Yes, I saw that episode, she sold her furs and jewellery, even the large engagement ring (to Blake's chagrin), to HELP her husband. If that's not the action of a sincere loving wife, I don't know what is. And the time he was attacked and left for dead on a mountain, Krystle went in the pouring rain to look for him.
