I had 2 MK2 Clio's. Both liked to eat CV Joints and had numerous electrical problems but once fixed they were fine. The latter was an RSI 1.6 16v. Super rare now
your cars pretty borked by the sounds of it & you might wanna get the underneath checked cause rust eats the rear of these cars as i've just found out with mine needing an entire rear axle and a bunch of other bits
I initially thought this was carburetted and that explained the spluttering but there's something wrong for sure. Could be any number of thing; bad fuel pump, pressure regulator, bad injectors or (most likely in my opinion) low compression
@@iainmacrae6982 The odd thing was that once it got going in the end is stopped smoking. I think it was overfuelling as it was smoking when cranking then and spluttering too.
Awsome exhaust bro
Awsome video
I really miss this era of French cars
I have a 1999 Clio - I agree they're so much better than new ones.

My old Kia used to do that when it was cold.
VROOM!
A normal healthy petrol car would not do that you have something wrong in your car
Great video! I love It! Do you still have this car?
Sadly not, the rear Alex bearings failed on it and it just wasn't worth fixing in the end
new spark and new bengin filter!!!!!
How long did it usually take to start on freezing cold mornings when it hadn't been used for several days?
choke pulled all the way should've done a big job.. mine starts instantly
Electriconic injection mate
great days..... now it's all electronics
It has almost the same crank sound as my VW Gol AE/CHT 1.6L
It's an extremely common starter motor
@@iainmacrae6982 Cool to know
@@gabrielvieira6529 I belive they're actually mitsubishi starters. I've never seen one fail.
Oil too thick?
Dont rev it just after starting
Is à 106 carburated with choke ?
I though all the 106 were injection
106 made between 1991 to 1993 can be carburated, with the TU engine like the 205. However, the 306 was only made with injection engines.

Sounds like poor maintenance and have never seen a 106 with so much difficulty starting from cold.

Why is the Peugeot so hard to start was it cold?
Doesn't look like it. It's running like dogshit so it's most likely had a very hard life
