Are they still with us? I know them from their 1962 Song for Europe entry Tell Tale. Sad to hear Anita Kerr passed away on 10 Oct. She made a cover version of it.
This scene is from the movie, "It's Trad, Dad." A good film, covering the UK music scene, pre-Beatles. I like the Brook brothers. And they actually do remind me a bit of the Everly brothers. Thanks for the posting, 1962Rebel.
I work with one of Ricky Brook's son's, we got to talking about music and what his dad had done with music, now I can\'t get enough of their music..really enjoy it!
Thanks so much for posting this great song and the Brook Brothers. Both are seldom heard in the States. In fact BROOKS Brothers is a very famous line of men's clothing in the U. S.
Well, it's taken me until about the sixtieth time watching this, but I finally noticed that, at the end, there are people lying on the shelves with the instruments. O.o
@GusMcC I agree entirely. The Brook Brothers were a much under rated group. But at that time the only radio station which remotely catered for teenagers was Radio Luxembourg and reception was poor in most areas of the country. I think acts like this would have got more airtime if Radio Caroline and all the other pirates had appeared a few years earlier.
@ben6871 Lol - hard to think of them as grandads! But then, I'm a grandma and The Brook Brothers were my favourites when I was a teenagers, I used to have their photo on my bedroom wall! :D
@ben6871 Hi Ben, I shared a house with your Dad in Kingston.... if anything was Double Trouble it was us!!!! Hope you and the family are keeping well, H
@supertwinkie1987 Is your Dad Geoff Brooks? Son of Half the Brook Brothers? Ask Grandma about the fellow in the tie asleep on the couch in Thorold Road.... circa 1985!!!
This is my Grandad and his brother.
They still rock!!!!
Was your grandad Geoff?

I love this! I'm watching the film now & my nickname as a little girl was Lyndy-Lou!
I lived with Uncle Tom Brooks 1939 -1945 mostly in their garden shelter in Barking.Loved my cousin Joyce who sadly passed away aged 16.

Super Song, E war mein erster Musikfilm und ich war begeistert, da mein Lieblingssänger Del Shannon ebefalls mitmachte. Es waren halt andere Zeiten. !
This is classic early 60s pop. Never understood why tracks like this were flops.

I agree entirely...The pirates gave us all so much happiness and fun..memories...
Directed by Richard Lester, anticipating the mise-en-scene technique he would later utilize to the utmost in "A Hard Day's Night".
