Study hard, do well and GO VIKINGS!
Man its always these types of videos that I tend to watch while I'm procrastinating...
or just play maple
^_^... i don't have enough money for that. Those cubes tho
Same
Lmao. well it might be better than doing random stuff on the internet?
Yea
Summary - Video starts at 12:14.
1. Only study 30 mins at a time.
2. Last 5 mins, review/recall what learnt.
3. On break stretch any sore joints. Beginning/end studying where concentration highest.
4. When done reading, skim down what read, look at boldprint heading/words, all important things, not study just look at them - stick better.
Learning definitions
1. Definitions - Can learn afew easily but combined with rest overwhelmed. Dont just learn it word for word. Wording can be changed around in tests.
Better way to learn definitions - 4 steps
1. Learn word for word - have to get into head first (necessary) 2. Know the meaning of each word in the definition - if dont know word find meaning.
3. And ? - Have to be able to say it in own words (if don't understand). Work for however long takes untill can restate definition in own words.
4. And ? have to be able to give fact/example of word learned
Highlights
1. Have confidence in abilities - don't doubt memory abilities - improve them.
2. Review - dont forget it, apply. keep reviewing everyday, continuously 5-10 mins everyday.
3. Learn things in own words.
4. Ask teacher if need to memorize for rote (just facts) or for understanding.
Thank you
Thanks :)

He is cute, cause wants his students understand him and enjoy his lectures
Tysm bro
I’m a freshman taking a pre-med on one of the top performing medical schools in our country and to be honest, I’ve gotten nothing but failing grades for the first few months, this was especially depressing and discouraging for someone like me as I grew up having straight As and being the “gifted kid” but college is a different type of hell.
I came across this video one day and followed everything the teacher said diligently and I haven’t failed a single exam since... Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, Sir! I am forever grateful to you for this... and if ever you’ve been struggling the same way I had, try this method, tweak it to what works for you and trust me, your situation will turn around. Best wishes.
A MOOD thank you. I’m in a similar position. In Nursing school the content of what we learn is bulky considering the limited time we have to study and wanting to have “ perfect scores “ has really messed up my grades and consequently, my confidence- literally from being a straight A’s student to entirely doubting my abilities.
Come to find out- I was using the wrong study methods the whole time.
Thank you for sharing and thank you for enlightening us Sir. Best of luck in school mate
Wow, I know your pain and have also been experiencing that hope this video helps me out.
same here dude its a cycle (someone might reply to me)
@@HassanAhmed-rf9xr same here dude.....
really helpful knowledge
Same,i've always been a straight A student but college is something else..i'm about to watch this video as i have my finals next month i hope it all works out and i get my grades and confidence back :)
this is what i call a great teacher!
lol no need to say no homo
I think this kind of stuff should also be tought to elementary schoolers. Why wait tell you get to college?
That's why homeschooling is better than public schools, you can teach your kids these tricks when they're young.
So true!!!!
youre study methods change a lot in college as well. the way you study freshman year definitely wont be the same your senior year.
Semper fidelis Semper Paratus whats your major? because STEM majors especially engineering its more than just remembering your notes. you have to apply the concept and actually learn. flash cards is not even half of it. methods definitely help. i know some who learn best by writing it out on a white board like a teacher, some like breaking down different formulas and understanding WHY. so no memorization isnt a study method depending on what your major is
Because education system sucks. It isn't made to create thinking people.
They should teach this in elementary. We a constantly told to study and learn but we must first learn how to study......
Awesome video,so helpful, thanks a lot!
I agree with u.I learned this info when im university. If i learned this beginning, everything would become different.
excellent lecture. camera-person knew when to focus on the teacher and when not to. Awesome!
Creepy but true
Who is this teacher? He is awesome! Had my attention the whole time!
His name is SCOTT BRUECKNER
ye same i watched the whole thing which is surprising to me
I love your voice, it's so clear and your pronunciation it's so understandble.
❤ ttoo
Mh
Me too.
Glad this video is still shared. Learning should be uncomplicated. This morning prior to studying, I did a 2 Minute Plank and 25 push-ups. Sat down and completed a 50 question review achieving 100% and 25 question review missed 1 question. I had a clarity and recall that was unstoppable.
What a great thing to do -- will try that for sure :)
perfect this is what we call teaching
I really liked how he started his lecture! would you give me some feedback on my video btw? my last bonus point is great to add to this video as well! I'd really appreciate it. czcams.com/video/MXEHqWV8GfM/video.html
After knowing this tricks I'm going back to college.
Do you remember which college ?
its been 5 years, have you graduated from college????

Wish I ever had a professor like this. Thanks for sharing and greetings to this amazing professor.
What a great teacher! I did what he say and boom I remember all the things that I reviewed!
This is so great. I wish I had found it when going to College some years back. I was in my latter 50's and struggled terribly. I value and will use this still, going forward.
I spent the entire time watching this and even though it has been a long period of time just watching this helped motivate me and feel like I know a lot more!
Wow... thank you so much. You are awesome. I learned a lot from you. I will apply what you discussed and hopefully I will pass the exam. Keep it up! Thank you again. More power!
Omg. He is crazy. He is really really extra ordinary teacher I haven't seen like him before he is so experienced. And he knows everything huhu thanks a lot for the video. I'm really happy and grateful to all those people who are taking part as teaching on CZcams. I also thanks the CZcams for this opportunity for poor student like us.
Thank you so much Sir for the amazing advices. You are absolutely a wonderful teacher. Thank you once again.
Very helpful information. I thought I knew this stuff (take breaks, don't study all day) but when it's broken down into numbers, it makes complete sense! I've been studying wrong for most of the time (90-120 minute reading, staying in one position and place the whole time, or going out into the garden as a break and not coming back into the house until it's dark, etc). I've already flunked a very difficult high-level test and I'm going to use your strategies to see if I'll pass this time. Thank you for this most excellent video!
Thank you so much! I got this video on the right time. When i really need it.
God bless...
This is amazing. I had been looking for videos on how to improve my memory and it really don't help. I am 45yo and have to take my NCLEX-RN here in the US and it's really hard to be back studying and memorizing after 23yrs of graduation from nursing. Thank you so much !!❤
I would truly share this to my nieces, nephews and my friends.
how did it go?
Totally agree. I started law school 20 years after undergrad
me lol
Maria O.W. How was the NCLEX? 👀
Have you passed your nclex-Rn?
Can't believe that a man like you exits
I got back to my college because of you
Thank you for sharing..
These are great videos! Prof. Brueckner is very easy to listen to and very understandable. The skills he teaches are actionable.
Most of all, he is not boring at all.
Thank you.
Omg i just love to be his student. What a great teacher
I'm watching this one day before my exam :(
lol, same
2 days before the exam but still no hope :D

Excellent teacher and very good practical examples to improve learning. Thank you
All those ways are so true, it works for me.
Indeed, he is an awesome teacher that I've ever seen.
Very Much Appreciated Sir.. You have done many of us a great service. Sometimes It's just techniques and processes that make all the difference no matter how intelligent you are. I really needed to watch this. Thank You.
this is really work, now my problem is much better. Thank you!
Very good review of studying and learning. Thank you a lot professor.
I absolutely LOVE ALL of your lessons!!! They are easy to understand, I know which parts to write down, and they are helping me a lot! Thank you for taking the time to share.
Thanks a lot for such a brilliant lesson, for imparting your experience and what you have got to the world, i really appreciate your lessons, God bless you.
this is awesome advise especially.....! for high school and university students
Wow! Awesome
Thank you very much, Mr.Teacher.
Your lesson is very helpful and also meaningful to me. Those students are very lucky to be taught some skills like this. In my country, I don't have many advantages to study this subject and I think I'm a lucky one too who can find your video.
Thank you again.
With your unique way of imparting knowledge, you easily encourage many for their mental upliftment. Like me, nearly zero memory storage thats why i appreciate much your unselfishness. Just hope, you still could stretch your life for others to be showered with your brilliance. Thanks! From the phils.
I greatly appreciate the instructor for these pieces of advice. I am a fist year pharmacy student
this is very helpful and useful information he gave it to us. It just that I'm not sure if it'll work for me, but I'm going to try it anyway.
wow. He seems amazing. I wish I had him as a teacher
THIS IS SOO HELPFUL! I have honors english classes which does sooo many hard vocab tests and ive tried this for like 2 months and ive gotten better grades
Sir, you are an exceptional teacher. It is very rare to find teachers like you now adays. God bless you 🙏
I am definitely going to use these tips when I start classes in the spring.
Was it helpful?
Thanks you this will help me in school a lot
Thank You Teacher. You explained so well that i feel motivated to change my habits and use brain power the same like You!
All the schools and educators who upload videos-- A WARM THANK YOU! You have no idea the people who don't have access but need and appreciate these videos! Never stop
What a great teacher!! i improved my studying habit
Just want to say this method works and I have used it to improve grades in undergrad to better my application for medical school and I currently use it in medical school and let's just say...beasting!
Yes, thank you, I love it, great subject, I learn a lot and it's true specialty in terminology to learn the meaning 😃
Another topic that I think would be great to go over is the difference between hearing something and actually listening to something. Great video, I'll sleep on it now. :)
I also like to use the alphabet to remember word lists, I put the list in alphabetical order with a number for how many words for each letter. I took a spelling test (and got 100%) from memory alone, without the teacher giving the word to spell. The other students thought I was some kind of genius, but in reality I just took the time to alphabetized the list. It works well for lists if 25 to 50 words (I never tried more). This was great to remember spelling and definitions, but if course I did not retain the actual list long term. I can do the 50 states with state capitals, and am working on countries of the world. Math tricks are another favorite. This all helps to keep my brain in good shape!
The guy who's constantly coughing giving me anxiety .(anyone from 2020 would get it)
Well the video is from 2011.
Hey op, are you a time traveller ?

the teacher was so awesome, so I didn't even pay attention
I loved this, I enjoyed watching it all through. It was practical and easy to relate with.
For the first test, I got 7(1s) and 4(2s) anyway.
Amazing ... golden advices i wish i've knew it before
Amazing Teacher. :)
Omg they are so happy to have You as a teacher!!! I am seriously jealous
Amazing teacher! I wish, all teachers will explain like you!
I love this guy hes a great teacher, wish I had him as a tutor
thanks...you are the best teacher ever...it helped a lot...keep going...:D
Hi, professor. I do love your lecture. I learnt a lot.
This instructor is AMAZING!!!
I can finally relax. Thank you so much!
this method is really helpful. And i improve my habit of study a lot. Thanks you a lot for this... Because i usually study 2 hours straight no break. That is why i can't remember everything and it just make me worst because during the test, I I can do best on the what questions relating to top and end of the book. NOT the material on the middle of the book. Thanks again.
This guy is great. I can't believe how much I improved after taking his workshops! I started at LBCC, got my first report card and felt like sh*t with c's and d's. I got serious about school after that and my life changed. I took these workshops, and actually TRIED HARD. Next quarter I was on the Dean's List. I got addicted to being on TOP of my classes, I made it fun, even tho it was hard. I kept my transcripts and see nothing but straight A's. Feels SO good to know I tried. A million thanks
What did you do could you please 🥺 tell me ...it would help a lot
Amazing! He never lost my attention once!👏🏾
yah, it realy helps. the words thing, BOo! love the steps. Thanks for the video
Wish I would have found this begining of first semester.

Thanks for this, very helpful

I was taught to do apply this method of study in my first year of Indian School. I could not speak English - I would get punished if I spoke "Indian" [Dineh/Navajo], not a preferred way of learning but the principles were still applicable. I left Indian School after one year, moved into a predominately 'white' home and became caucasian. I applied these principles throughout my academic life. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and 1st female student to ever graduate a 'seminary' [I cannot name], Valedictorian. I accomplished yet another Valedictorian, an invite to 'Mensa' [even though I had tested of average intelligence as a freshman in high school] and again Summa Cum Laude [GPA 4+ - BTW, I also have two doctorates.
I had a brain injury four years ago, I spent five months in a coma, 13 mos. in a hospital and then was transferred to a rehabilitative nursing home. They determined I would never move my limbs, my feet or my hands [in any functional way]. They determined I had significant brain damage and also would never speak English in any acceptable manner.
Giving them some credit, I am having trouble learning to type. The first time I went to college, we wrote our papers in longhand. I have memory loss of 30 to 40 years except for childbirth - but, when I awoke I thought he was a newborn and I spoke in Dineh' - I panicked as I assumed he was illegitimate and my grandparents would be much shamed. I now not only pull myself up in the bed [which was a goal for me], my son is 26, divorced with 1/2 custody. I get to love him [and my grandbabies] all over again.
I stand up, walk, [many times I have to use a cane for any distance outside my home], I drive, take TOTAL care of myself, I have an ileostomy, I have two hip replacements, fibula crack around rod, back is 'crushed', one kidney [I had the thing they give one when their kidneys do not work] - I also have short term memory loss], etc. YET, my house was filled with books - so, guess what I have been doing? This formula or principle has given me at least the 'learned' part of me back again - when I read something I already knew [at some point], it triggers other info I already knew, THINK what it can do for you as I am clinically an imbecile. I am of the 'Bluebird Clan, the Navajo Nation [Dineh'] - Jonny

Why on Earth I haven't watched it earlier? Life changing if properly utilized. Thanks to all for spreading this technique. Love you Sir. Wherever you are, May Allah bless you.
This is a really good speech, enjoyed and appreciated it a lot :) One thing to ask: are these people stupid or just so shy. He asked so many question and they were sitting there like nothing was even asked. Kind of annoyed me because this man has put so much effort in this and a little bit of engagement would be a really nice thing to see.
Aamazing!! Really helpful! 40 minute investment goes a long way!
I wish I was there. :-( I really enjoyed watching and listening to this. :-) Great job, professor!
Powerful sir. I learned a lot and I'm 50yrs old. I really like the acronym teaching and the study breaks. Also the pitfalls of breaks. Awesome. I will definitely teach this to my 10yr old.
2019 and he's still helpful

I know this is an old video. I just wanted to thank you for uploading the video to CZcams. After being out of school for years; I am now studying for law school. This has helped me greatly. I am now applying this to my studies. Thank you.
I remembered more 2's.
this video helped me so much! likee!
Thanks for the info
I can use those steps to improve my self :)
That's great! I actually have some problems when I study but it depends, if I like the subject I can learn very fast, but when it's something like philosophy I spend half an hour just reading and trying to focus on the meaning of that line. Sometimes I wake up at 3 am because I can remember things better!
thank you, this will really help me when i go to university. Right now i am in grade 8.

Hope you remember this

Is there anywhere I can get the handout for this specific lecture? I visited the website, but it wasn't what the students were given at the end.
love, love love, this video.
Thanks. It really helped me. Keep making these type of videos. Once again Thanks!
I watched five of your videos and really appreciate them. I am 80 years old but see how I can apply what you have suggested. By the way, my brother attended LBCC and was on the team that won the Junior Rose Bowl against Boise, and he also held the mile record as the "barefoot" miler.
