I always loved the previous generation 1-series. It has been my go to choice for rental cars if I'm not getting a company car on a business trip. It was good looking, well built, just the right size and fun to drive. Now there isn't really much of a reason to spend the extra money from Sixt instead of going for the Golf.
Have a look at carwow vid this v m140i this gets eaten sadly on 0-60 and rolling starts...really nice vid by the way thanks
What do you think of the Aisin gearbox? Not as good as the ZF according to Carwow.

Once again a lovely review Thomas, one of the best i have seen to date, I think that Brexit will not help a German car market that's experiencing some difficulty at the moment, hope that the people that really make decisions for us normal people get it right, I always buy German cars, fingers crossed the so called trusted politicians will get it sorted for all our sakes. all the best

It looks great. I've gotten used to the design and now appreciate it.
I believe that I'll buy this one once imported in PRC. Hopefully I will drive it for ages. But, the major gap is whether this one will be introduced in PRC. I know there is a MIC Mercedes A35L AMG instead of original one. How hopeless it is.
Electronic engine sound？
The boot can be opened by foot under bumper. What happens if a cat keeps walking in and out of under the bumper?

Its isolated a good car. But the real driving machine, 140i, died with the end of f25. This new one is cheaper to produce, money talks. Still the 3 series are rwd....for now. BMW are losing its old byer group.

Looks great, just hope that old Euro twat Michel Barnier strikes a deal with us or import duties will make these cars too expensive for sale in the UK, thats when the South Koreans and Chinese will step in, once again Thomas one of the most informative reviews on the net, keep up the good work.
Ugly car though. The mass market has spoken. Car enthusiasts are becoming a dying breed.
The masses is (unfortunately) where it's at these days. That counts for all businesses; we see it in sports, gaming, music, etc. They never cater to the hard core, the enthusiasts, because that would be bad business economically for the company. At least in the short term. Being casual would make life so much more enjoyable for those of us who are so stupid that we actually are enthusiastic about things.

Thomas and his bias reviews of anything German. Hardly critical of cars from his home country.
Let me be very honest: That's bullshit. a) All cars are meanwhile global cars, form parts all over the world. So b) so many "German" cars we review aren't even built in Germany. c) Do you even know that I am German? d) Let's assume I live in Germany, what would be my motivation to promote German cars? e) I couldn't care less about country/brand heritage. f) If you don't believe me, find another channel that is supposed to be more fair. We're surely the most unbiased one, as millions of viewers can confirm.

Freude am faren, they are betraying there own slogan. It's ugly, the name isnt right, it manks 2 cilinders, sounds average and dull, looks like a crossover.......I can go on. I was the biggest bmw fan, still have one to this day, one from the golden ages that is but this is not a bmw anymore, its an uglier a class. You lost a fan bmw, byebye.
