- Let's embark on an enchanting culinary voyage through the vibrant streets of Muzaffarpur and the village of Parsauna during the festive fervor of Chhath Puja.
Our journey commenced with a steaming cup of chai from Vishwakarma Ji Ki mobile tea shop at Tower Chowk. This shop operates from his bicycle that is fitted with a speaker. He has traversed through cities of Gorakhpur, Kolkata etc. serving his tea to the masses. The light brew infused with lemon juice, rock salt, and black pepper powder was a refreshing start to our day. Vishwakarma Ji's inspiring story of struggle and hard work left a lasting impression. He dreams of owning a permanent tea shop someday.
Next, we immersed ourselves in the zesty flavors of Bhelpuri from Jai Mata Di Bhel Puri near Devi Mandir. Despite the bustling crowd and a wait of over half an hour, the delectable Bhel Puri was worth every moment. The vendors' adeptness in churning out this irresistible fare with lightning speed left us in awe, as if their hands moved like machines to cater to the chaotic crowd.
Continuing our culinary exploration, we savored the wholesome Bhunja from Banaras Sattu Evam Bhunja Bhandar at Saraiyaganj. This healthy and pocket-friendly snack, made of onions, green chilies, mustard oil, and various dry roasted ingredients provided a satisfying crunch with every bite.
Thereafter we indulged in the rustic flavors of Litti Chokha from Uday Litti Stall at Saraiyaganj. A quintessential dish of Bihar, these savory treats completed our gastronomic experience with their hearty flavors.
Venturing further, we gobbled up some crispy Gupchup from Mahender Gupchup Cart at Saraiyaganj. While the puris stuffed with spiced boiled potato mixture were enjoyable, the accompanying tamarind water fell short of our expectations. Nevertheless, it was a fun experience.
The paan from Kali Paan Bhandar at Saraiyaganj was a perfect finale to our culinary adventure in Muzaffarpur.
Continuing our journey, we explored the vibrant street food scene in the village of Parsauna. Our first stop was the bustling Happy Fast Food Center, popular among youngsters for its momos and variety of fritters. Here, we sampled kachri, a lentil-based fritter and bread pakoda, both satisfying and flavorsome.
Next, we relished chura chana from Sunil ji’s shop. This healthy and wholesome snack consisting of fried flattened rice and stir-fried chana, perfect for satisfying small hunger pangs.
Our penultimate stop was Ganpati Sweets in Nayi Bazar, where we indulged in the goodness of samosa, rasgulla, kala jamun, peda, and kalakand. The food items, although simple, were pretty decent.
Our last stop was Pahadi Shah Chai Ki Dukan, where camaraderie flourishes over cups of tea. Village folks gathered to recharge or unwind themselves, fostering hearty conversations and creating unforgettable memories.

Anubhav Sir apne Chai se start karke choti - choti sabhi stalls & shops ko badi sadgi se cover kiya , bahut hi accha laga. Fresh Muri , Litti - chokha , bread pakoda inki to baat hi alag hai. Aur sabke sath mil - julkar , baat karte hue khana iska apna hi maja hai.😊
