There’s also the fact that Selena Gomez guest starred on Sonny with a Chance as SELENA GOMEZ. They knew her as a famous actress on Wizards of Waverly Place. This means that ALL of these shows connected to Wizards of Waverly Place are canonically shows. This means that only Sonny with a Chance is canonically “real life” and the rest are canonically shows where the characters are actually known as their real life actors/actresses.

Beyond that it gets complicated because Boy Meets World had crossovers with Family Matters, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Step By Step, and Maybe This Time. The whole actor sharing between different series thing is easily explainable, Disney basically owns their young talent. So if you are in an episode of one series when you're like 9 then it's likely (after a lengthy audition process) you'll be cast in another series either in a main cast or recurring role several years later, also most kids don't have great memories so even with reruns of a certain show they may not realise it's the same actor in two different shows if the shows are made 4-5 years apart

It goes futher. Some time ago, Disney made a series of short videos when characters from shows would call characters from other shows. it included Raven in the House doing a crossover with Big City Greens. Big City Greens also made a crossover with Phineas and Ferb, which itself is connected to the Milo Murphy's Law. Phineas and Ferb had a crossover with Marvel superheroes. So, there's no "Disney Chanell Cinematic Universe". All of this is basically just part of the Marvel Universe. And with Spider-Man: Now Way Home, we know that basically every Marvel property, is officially part of MCU multiverse. So yeah, DCCU is just one of many multiverses within the MCU

But the thing is, Disney does not care about the doppelgang implications at all though 😂 If you pointed it out, or if they wanted to cross over like, Shake It Up and KC Undercover (both shows where Zendaya is the main character), they'd just say "Oh, these two people look alike, huh", like the Jessie/Bailey situation, or say like "We're not like each other AT ALL" like the Maddie/Sharpay situation (that one time Suite Life referenced HSM). You may say that makes it frustrating and so anything can be anything and there are no rules anymore, but I argue that that makes it hilarious and so ANYTHING CAN BE ANYTHING AND THERE ARE NO RULES ANYMORE!!

My headcanon to explain actors appearing as different characters in multiple shows is that doppelgangers exist. It would have been best if they were explicitly a thing in Wizards of Waverly Place but sadly that's not the case. Another possibility is that although they look the same to the audience, if not explicitly stated that they look the same (in the case of Bailey/Jessie by Mr Moseby), then perhaps in-universe they might not even look the same. Maybe to Zack on Suite Life on Deck, Alex doesn't look the same as the other character Selena played.

And like the Rousso once lived in the same town as Charlie's family but for some reason they had to move to NYC (maybe because their magic was exposed) and they changed their names so no one could find them but before they went to the Tipton hotel and she had a thing with one of the twin and later didn't want to bring it up on the SS Tipton because it would expose her family. And Alex just really didn't like Hannah so she went to torment her using an alias.

Haha I'm sitting here waiting for all the Wizards and Good Luck Charlie crossovers. Then I realize the actress who played Teddy was actually just a character in Wizards 😂

Bunk'D had an episode where Raini Rodriguez comes in and plays a character that is not Trish despite having been in that crossover, which creates a continuity nightmare
Edit: said that before you talked about it lol

They also did a episode of Jessie where Emma left and Jessie found her in a hotel ran by Mr Mosby who was seen later on the phone with Cody about how much she looks like Bailey (Jessie's character on deck)

Sonny With A Chance/That's So Random was weird too because other Disney Channel shows (That's So Raven, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, etc.) were mentioned in the show and Selena Gomez was a real actress/singer in their shows universe. They even mentioned Raven as an actress but Raven Symone actually starred in Sonny With A Chance but she wasn't playing herself, she was playing some super fan.

Sonny With A Chance/That's So Random universe is an AU, given that Camp Rock wasn't a thing but instead Camp HipHop exists and is starred by Selena Gomez...

If you’re so thrown by actors playing multiple characters across crossovers, you should take a look at JAG. At the end of season 1, one of the main characters has a (former?) girlfriend who’s murdered. Then the other main character leaves, and guess who comes in as a new lead at the start of season 2?
Though they do at least acknowledge it as a spooky coincidence that she looks so much like the woman who just died.

I remember calling this universe The Raven-verse because of my fond memories of That's So Raven, also because the Baxter family has had three shows about them.

I love that this one video has created a sort of think tank in the comments where everyone who was a disney channel fan has added the in universe explanations given for the magic and any obscure disney channel shows that connected to the universe to try and tie everything together. I think we need another episode king

The string was so triggering how youd connect things without direct connections

"We had two separate Disney Channel Americas that were connected to themselves but not to each other"
Lol sounds like actual America too.

Wizards on deck with Hannah Montana is my favorite of these crossovers

At least Disney did a better job with their crossovers, than Nickelodeon. The Dan Schneiderverse is so freaking hard to explain because it constantly contradicts itself (there's also too many references to feet).

There was a Jessie episode where Jessie goes to the Tipton and finds Mr Moseby there, he even calls Cody to tell him that he found a girl that looks exactly like Bailey
Edit: never mind he did mentioned it in the video lol
