Trepang 2 might be the best FEAR type game I've ever played, story is well made and the gore is on top. They really nailed the cloaking and slo-motion.

True, and I also like the fact that delaying them for long enough can disrupt their fervor and cause them to become aware of what the fire is doing to them. It adds some weight to the whole spectacle, like you’re actually looking at someone who’s whipped themselves up into a religious frenzy as opposed to just another type of enemy.
They all have masks but if you shoot their masks, it's just monstrous face, like there are fangs(?) all over their face with no other facial features.
@@pervertbismarck5067 I want to say there's Intel that mentions the martyrs being seen mutilating each other. I think as part of their indoctrination or introduction into the cult. The teeth part I'm unsure of except for maybe something to do with the cult HVTs like the alchemist and their experiments.

Ok. Environment is completely emersive, gameplay is really good, and enemies actually react like in 2:20. Whoever made this game deserves more money.
If you take a human shield and don't shoot, sometimes enemies will actually hold fire and try to surround you too

The Ai is ok at best, however, on the last two difficulty modes(extreme and rage mode), they shred ur ass.

The FEAR devs are on record that like, most of the 'super smart AI enemies' is literally just being able to hear a guy go 'I'm GONNA FLANK THAT [SWEAR WORD]' and then seeing the AI actually try do that to you.

It's always refreshing to have enemies that realize just how over their head they are
For me, it adds to it that the majority of the goons are either rent-a-cops or the guys booted out of the military for various reasons such as an injury or simply being unhinged and all their equipment are used and bought at military auctions and the lowest possible cost.

Seriously, the enemies sound like actual people reacting to the crazy shit going on. I liked the one "what's your status" "I'm good" after the grenade, not only is the enemy reacting to your actions very well they're reacting to other ai's actions real well.

the way Trepang2 (made by a few guys, or so i heard) made reminds me when games dream big even with technological limitations and expected to ship day 1 as a stable, playable, finishable game, instead of blewing it all up on marketing and then jam-packing multiplayer, paid, and online content.
they don't even hesitate modernizing stuff like adding major SCP Foundation reference there!

Dam Nano you just pushed me to get up off my ass and sort out my pc, this game looks great. There are bits of other shooter game actions here too like the dual wielding guns that old school cod has or the dropkick that dying light has. I can't wait to play it.

Xmas came early for me, with Nano playing Trepang2, love that game so glad I picked it up on a whim when it first came out.
