- Hey everyone after a long time I'm back! This time I am doing the Rags to Riches Challenge on the Sims 1. I start with 0 simoleons and try to get rich! Stay tuned for more Sims videos don't forget to subscribe please!!!
Created a new sim. I am doing a no-cheat challenge. I try to marry this David jr. from my previous story. He keeps bringing his dead family with him.
I've been playing this Nina Fineux sims household. She was a Superstar, couldn't keep up with it, and quit her job as a star and became an evil witch. She had couple of adopted kids with her first husband. Then they all died in a tragic fire. Then she married Kenneth and had kids with him too. David, Dave, Luna, Luna Jr, David Jr. are some of their kids' names.

I've been falling asleep to this video each night for the past week, I love the nostalgic sounds of The Sims 🥹
I do the same 🩷 Sims 1 has the best sounds except the traumatic burglar and ghost ones 🤣

This was the sound of my childhood. “The Sims” at age 11 meant ‘full control’ which was intoxicating to me at that young age, when I had little to no choice in my actual life. I played this game to death. The music and sound effects still gives me a huge bump of dopamine, evoking those long chill days in the summer holidays, controlling these pixelated lives
Edit : The way I’ve written that implies that at some point I gained full control of my adult life. I did not, and that’s why I still like to play Sims4 and never tire of watching other people play a Sims game : the brief illusion of control.

It does the exact thing for me. I played Sims 1, Who Wants to be a Millionaire & You Don't Know Jack. Those were my 3 games 😅😂
Back when the Sims was actually challenging! I still consider the first Sims game to be brutally difficult. Especially without the expansion packs!! Simmers today have no idea if they never played the first one. It would give Dark Souls a run for it's money.
The challenge itself is to play the game I agree!
I have the complete collection and even with all the packs it’s so hard to play. There are almost no cheats.
@@jannawillemina rosebud enter then after rosebud load the cheat box again and put !;!;!;!; Thats more money and you can use the move_objects cheats and delete then click on sims and there back to green everything but make sure u save first
@@jannawilleminayou can do the !; over and over if u want like 100 of them if u want and it gives alot of money
@@jannawillemina I had a very specific way of playing. I didn't build anything, I stayed in the magical world, I only cared about magic and used "move objects" to fulfill all the sim's needs.
The burglar soundtrack is still giving me the classic mini heart attack 😭😭

Honestly, that was the most illogical way to go from rags to riches, like, the choice of furnishing, the strategy for becoming a super star and so on... But wow that was so gripping that i've watched it till the end!! Now I want to play sims 1 myself to remember how it was in my childhood :)

Haha I was giving my bf an NFL worthy breakdown this morning of the approach and critiquing where I would have gone differently. I.e. crappy toilet, low priority, and always going in the order toilet followed by shower. Week one priorities would be fire alarm with the stove and burglar alarm at the front (and the burglar alarm is always on the outside of the house, so it goes off before the criminal can get in the house and steal some thing), a bookshelf to get at least one cooking skill, so you don’t burn up the stove again and again. A game plan for building the house room by room, so as to not delete any walls or wallpaper/flooring. Minimal deletion of any build mode or items in the house. Deletion mainly for upgrades. Priority upgrades are bed, TV, fridge, shower, in that order. The large decorative items could’ve been at the front of the house to give “Room” a boost before going to work. Having Room completely in the red makes it harder to get promotions. More promotions, equal more money, which you desperately need.
But agreed, I loved watching it!

Truly - I practically went through a full range of emotions but mostly confusion and surprise, damned if I wasn't thoroughly invested. I think I actually learned a few tricks too lol

I sympathized deeply with my cousin, as she invested considerable effort in nurturing her Sims character's relationships and meticulously crafting the virtual house, she had a lot of future plans for the Sims Characters. However, her unfortunate predicament arose when one of her elderly Sims characters, who happened to be the butler, inexplicably decided to take a nap right in front of the pool stairs that blocked all the other Sims from exiting the pool. She tried to move the pool stair but it won’t. Regrettably, she was unable to intervene or awaken the sims character there was no options, she’s invited the neighbor she also created who were also at the pool , resulting in a complete blockade that prevented the other characters from exiting the pool until all the other Sims had died. She had so much plans. It was a mixture of ridiculous and annoyance.

Sorry for my grammar if something I'm not an English speaker but oooh my... This music and sounds bring back so many good childhood memories. I remember when my mom brought a copy of the Sims 1 with some expansion packs from her coworker and gave it to me. I didn't know how to build walls at first and let my Sims live under the open sky lol. I remember my first fire, my first pet, my first vacation trip, the first time I saw a ghost and it scared crap out of me and also those creepy phone pranks, the sad clown and scary music playing randomly in the middle of the night... This game is so calming and magical. I've spent hours and hours playing it. It was a simpler time...

When I played The Sims 1 the last time, I was really a small kid, I listened to the soundtrack recently to see if it will bring up nostalgia, but it was so long ago or/and I was so young I actually don't remember the soundtrack. However seeing the UI now brings those forgotten memories lol. I actually remember my first little house I built myself with the help of my older sister and then my second house, a huge mansion in comparison that she built for me. Good times, my only wish is I spoke English back then to enjoy the game even more. Right now, I am playing The Sims 3 for like 14 years at this point, but I am honestly having a blast recently. Tho nobody from my male friends understand me, as they don't think it's exactly a game for guys lol

Hey! I am not using an old computer I just downloaded the Sims from a website and for the bugs and stuff there are fixes and mods online. But it works pretty well I would say.
