    For anyone wondering why the reason the diamond needs a high concentration of oxygen, its because the things needed to start a fire are heat, fuel, and oxygen. The lighter is the source of heat, the diamond is the fuel, and the oxygen tank is the source of oxygen.

      That doesn't fully answer the question though. Diamonds are made of carbon atoms arranged in a very strong, tightly packed crystal structure which makes it difficult for oxygen atoms to get close to the carbon atoms and react with them. As a result, diamonds have a very high ignition temperature, meaning that they need to be heated to a very high temperature before they will start to burn.
      In a pure oxygen atmosphere, diamonds will burn at a temperature of around 800 degrees Celsius. However, in normal air, which is only about 21% oxygen, diamonds will not burn until they are heated to around 1,500 degrees Celsius because there are fewer oxygen atoms available to react with the carbon atoms in the diamond.
      So, the reason why diamonds need a higher concentration of oxygen to burn is because their strong crystal structure makes it difficult for oxygen atoms to react with the carbon atoms which means that diamonds have a very high ignition temperature and will only burn in a pure oxygen atmosphere or when heated to a very high temperature in normal air

      Terrible explanation, thats like saying the things required for a plane to fly are a runway, air, engine, fuel and wings. The diamond needs to be heated up to a high level so that the giant molecular structure of the diamond will stary to become unstable and the carbon network can actually start to bond with other elements instead. The high concentration of O2 is needed because even though the diamond is heated up already, there isnt nearly enough oxygen molecules in the air to cause a visible reaction with the diamond. Your diamond will turn into carbon dioxide the same way even if you just heat it up enough but to actually see it burn you need to out it within conc O2

    Fun fact: diamond is actually made of Carbon, so when you burn it and blow it with Oxygen, it will be smaller and smaller until it disappear,
    because Carbon + Oxygen -> Carbon dioxide (require heat)
    Also NileRed once heated the diamond and blow it with oxygen and it actually disappear

      @@balasunboys2965 The tub, normally would be melted but because that's a heat resistant tub (maybe silicone) so it can withstand a very high temperature and not melted.

      Even GIA (diamond grader) said that lab-grown diamonds have the same chemical and physical properties as natural diamonds.
