All Blackpink members worked hard to get to where they are now, but to me, Lisa's story is the most inspiring. The more you get to know her, the more impressed you will be.

Obviously she doesn’t go to school and learn english in america. Shes just that smart. You gotta be super smart to do that

K-Pop just has another level of everything for dancers, singers, rappers, the strength is that they might not be better than professionals that focus on those specific aspects of performance but they do all of them consistently at a high level, other groups like EXO, Red Velvet, G-Idle, are all worth checking out for more unique sounds within the genre.

I have very diverse music taste as well - I love BlackPink - always blown away by their talent. You say you're a metal/rock person, you should check out BandMaid, Love Bites, One OK Rock, Neophila - all rock/metal bands from Japan. Really crazy talented and folks that like American metal, go crazy for these bands.

I first heard of BTS about six years ago, but dismissed them as a mere "boy band" for little girls. And then when I started to listen to BTS, I was a little dismissive of Blackpink because I didn't think their songs were as meaningful as those by BTS. But now I really enjoy Blackpink. I think you would love Lisa's solo m.v. "LaLisa," in which she wears the KISS jacket. It's insane. And Blackpink's "Kills This Love" is also amazing. I also recommend Red Velvet's "Psycho." Blackpink is literally the female version of the Beatles. The How You Like That Dance Practice video just crossed 1 Billion views. The only Dance Practice video to have done that milestone. Not even BTS have that kinda Dance Practice video flex even though they came out much earlier. Blackpink is the revolution!

Also, YES! there is a lot of good groups and artists you are missing.
for kpop you should check some well-known groups liek Bigbang ( a group known as kings of kpop) and another funfact they are from same company as BlackPink. Also there is EXO, and SHINee, ( these two also in same company but not the same company as BlackPink and Bigbang). There is some new groups like Stray Kids ( they are really really really good at rapping specially and one of their members is the fastast rapper in kpop), there is a group called ATEEZ ( they have strong stories in their mvs and their vocals are not a joke) Also there is SEVENTEEN ( which a group has 13 members. It may be interesting for you to wathing these many members in a group and it would definitely be enjoyable for us to watch your reaction)

I feel you!!! I'm also a metalhead who is finding out about them and it's so good! Blackpínk is the only group I've really liked so far, but it's still quite surprising. Maybe there is something to it? I know it sounds literally nothing like metal at all, but metal quintessentially is largely about the energy, attitude and that badass feeling you get like when you listen to Pantera. Songs like this one, Kill this Love and Ddudududuudddu give me a somewhat similar energy.

I don't blame you for not knowing what to expect from BLACKPINK because I honestly didn't either. 😂 I obviously knew they were a big deal and I recognized them on Lady Gaga's song Sour Candy, but I still didn't know what their vibe was, so to speak, and this was also my first song of theirs and damn, what a way to not only be introduced to BLACKPINK, but also K-Pop in general. I cannot thank them enough and this song still blows me away to this day. 😍🔥🫰🩷
Just realised who you remind me of.... Dominic Monaghan back when he was in Lost and Lord of the Rings! Finally worked it out. I am BTS ARMY but don't mind a bit of Blackpink too. This is one of my favourites and Pretty Savage too. I think BTS wise you might like Fake Love, MV is like a movie again and there is an extended version and a more rock version but a couple of live versions are epic. Loving your reactions 💜
