    At the time they hit the water on first impact, The engines were on idle. They pulled as hard as they could. Pilots were heavily overwhelmed. To keep your engines on idle in the air for so long whilst knowing your flight instruments are untrustworthy. Its inevitable you will be descending. Tragic collection of unfortunate events. RIP

      @abdelkarimouzzine5671 Yes in theory. They were unaware of their position until they first hit the water. After the first hit the plane has bounced and started to invert. They had mere seconds before death. Its hard to pull of Toga in that time while the plane is not level.

    Speedometer, altimeter, all instruments were off.
    The pilot was panicked by two conflicting alarms: overspeed alarm and stall alarm.
    However, they were false warnings due to a faulty pitot tube.
    They cooperated by getting data from air traffic controllers.
    But since the data was transmitted from the aircraft
    Even that was wrong.
    The only exception was the surface approach warning that was correct, which was a radio altimeter.
    But they were flying over the ocean at night, so they couldn't visually determine altitude.
    they didn't trust that data.
    Oh, what was I supposed to do in such a shitty situation?

    Why airplanes are not designed to swim or at least to land on water ?

    • @goldviationflights
      @goldviationflights Před rokem +23

      Aircraft can land on water safely but only if done right. That's why there are many success stories of water landings but also total crashes. In this case, the aircraft was banking and therefore, there was no hope to save the aircraft and land on the water. Some aircraft like the 777 have a cockpit button which considers ditching (water landing).
      There are many problems with ditchings though. Firstly, it's the high rate of failure. There have been many instances where the pilots could not land the aircraft properly (Ethiopian flight 961 for example). There are many reasons for this but most importantly, waves and winds at sea level can greatly increase the chances that the aircraft comes in at an angle therefore ripping its wings and fuselage on landing. Secondly, an aircraft water landing is the last resort to save the passengers and crew. This is because rescue is unlikely to be available endangering lives and an aircraft will quickly sink within a few minutes after the landing (it will then be a hull loss). Water landings are also very unlikely and you can probably count with your fingers how many water landings have occurred over the last 70 years. Therefore, there is no real reason to add many features designed for a water landing as its unlikely and very unsafe.
      I hope this answer helps :)

      @@goldviationflights the industry is not interested in implementing security features just because the air crashes are rare.
      Why don't they make planes crash-resistant? The industry is only interested in protecting the black box, but not the entire plane. They run the fuel all over the plane and has the effect to start fire when the plane crash.
      They should develop something like an airbag for ditching and emergency landing on ground. They should make commercial plane able to do water landing by default like the small planes. They should build the planes with stronger material that can resist a crash.

    • @dariootero5579
      @dariootero5579 Před 10 měsíci +1

      In high-pressure and emergency situations like aircraft incidents, pilots must make split-second decisions based on their training, experience, and the information available to them. The scenario you've described, of dropping the plane near the ground and then taking off again, might seem like a possible solution, but there are several factors that make it extremely challenging and risky:
      1. **Aircraft Performance:** Commercial airplanes are designed to operate within certain limits of speed, altitude, and load. Dropping a plane close to the ground and then attempting to take off again would require significant engine power and control to counteract the force of gravity. It's uncertain whether an airplane could generate enough lift in such a situation to safely regain altitude.
      2. **Speed and Distance:** Aircraft need a certain amount of speed to generate lift. If the plane is close to the ground, there may not be enough distance to accelerate to a speed sufficient for takeoff. Attempting to climb too quickly could lead to a stall, where the wings lose lift and the aircraft can plummet.
      3. **Terrain and Obstacles:** The decision to drop the plane near the ground and then take off again assumes that there is a clear, obstacle-free area available for the plane to descend and then climb. In many real-world scenarios, this might not be the case, especially in crowded or mountainous environments.
      4. **Control and Stability:** Airplanes are designed to be stable in flight. Sudden and extreme maneuvers, like dropping the aircraft close to the ground and then attempting to climb steeply, can put immense stress on the airframe and may lead to loss of control.
      5. **Limited Time and Information:** In an emergency, pilots have limited time to assess the situation, make decisions, and execute actions. The idea you've mentioned could require precise calculations and execution, which might not be feasible under the extreme stress of an imminent crash situation.
      6. **Passenger Safety:** Rapid changes in altitude and maneuvers could lead to injuries among passengers and crew due to the sudden shifts in gravitational forces.
      Aviation professionals undergo extensive training to handle emergencies and make critical decisions to maximize the safety of passengers and crew. In many cases, pilots rely on established procedures and protocols developed by aviation authorities and manufacturers. While creative thinking is valuable, attempting complex and untested maneuvers in an emergency could potentially worsen the situation.
      It's important to remember that aviation safety is a complex and carefully regulated field, and decisions made by pilots are based on a combination of training, experience, and adherence to established safety protocols.
