  • A quick lunch break adventure with my speed graphic ...and shooting hand held for the first time. I was alone, so I could not video myself while taking the photographs....bummer!

Neat video! I won't rest until I am able to handhold an 8x10 lol

Nice video, do you prefer to use the back shutter rather than the lens shutter ? Also how did you adjust the rangefinder ? I’m waiting for my speed graphic to arrive in the coming few days !

Hi there! Thanks for watching. This was my first time using the back shutter. Hard to say which I prefer for now. I can say that with my camera for handheld shooting, back curtain shutter works well - especially if you can just keep it at one speed (for instance 1/125 of a sec or so). If on a tripod, I definitely prefer the lens shutter with a cable release. I guess you can always play around and find out which one makes more sense :-)

Thanks for the video....Just finishing all my DIY projects off and then looking forward to using my recently purchased 4X5 Speed Graphic (1940-47 Anniversary model) during our Winter months. Do you have a roll film holder for 120 film? Just wondered how they performed quality wise. Subscribed :-)

Hi - I do have a 6x9 120 film holder. It works ok. The view finder is 4x5 so, you would have to make adjustments to what will be in the frame. Also, you have to (at least on mine) release a little holder and then double wind the film. If the little holder engages, it causes trouble to where you can skip a frame. Mine is a Horsman holder.
