      The best part is you get to register your phone number to Mpesa once you turn 18! It is literally every Kenyan child's dream. And you can buy airtime, Data, deposit money to your bank account and vice versa, make payments as low as buying fruits from the streets, send and receive money and bail out your friends and family in seconds. You can also use it in other East African countries so you only need your phone and ID to withdraw money on Mpesa agents while on vacation.

Another thing is the genuine drive to work hard yes people are in the US but then show me a busdiness opportunity anywhere in the world and I'l show you a Kenyan who is already there. I'm Kenyan, very proud. But I have to say this...We stand no chance against places like South Africa and Nigeria in the economic space if we don't get our house in order. Not just regarding the type of leaders we have, but also as far as technology companies are concerned. Other than M-pesa, it's hard to think of big tech companies that are creating an impact on a global scale Kenya needs to support her innovators significantly to be able to get to the point where we have services, products and applications that can compete on an international level.
    That being said. We need to start by being transparent in innovation ...people need to stop stealing and running away with other peoples ideas. & we need to be told the truth about how M-pesa was founded! Until we get to a point where we give innovators the credit they deserve we'll continue to discourage innovation .

    Nigeria relies solely on oil, which is why their economy stagnated when oil prices fell. I'd say the leading countries in Africa will be Ethiopia (Which is dubbed the new China and will be the manufacturing capital of Africa due to cheap labor and the fact that Chinese companies are moving there fast) and Kenya (Which will be the tech capital of Africa. That's where tech companies go to test the waters when they're trying to enter the African market)

    • @fckingkim
      @fckingkim Před 5 lety +2

      @@samoche4614 I believe the question was "which country will lead Africa in the next 20 years?" rather than "which country has the largest economy in Africa today?" My answer to the former is Ethiopia followed by Kenya and I gave the reasons for my answer. Nigeria's economy has been shrinking since oil prices fell and the trend is expected to continue for a few more years. Ethiopia, on the other hand, is among the fasted growing countries in the world and as long as they sustain their current growth, they should become Africa's largest economy in a few decades. Kenya and Tanzania have also been growing strongly and they're in a good position to be among the top economies in Africa in 20 years, should the current growth be sustained. Nigeria needs to diversify its economy for it to be among the top economies by 2038. Nigeria's current FDI has done little to save the country from a recession; it's just not good enough if the economy is barely growing.

    Unfortunately it flopped in South Africa due to lack of demand. It was terminated back in 2016. It had about 76000 users in RSA compared to Kenya which has more than 11 million users. Our traditional banks already support mobile payments and most of the people use supermarkets to transfer money. Nontheless It is good to see that it is doing well in other African countries.

    Investment is n ot a game of chance or
    luck like the lottery, rather it involves
    critical reasoning, planning, and diligence
    and focuses on achieving the major goal
    (PROFIT). Notwithstanding, one should put
    into consideration that various externalities
    may occur during the investment period
    which could result in a high yield in profit or
