Being that you knew him personally I don't see how you didn't shed a tear. I cried when I watched the video and I didn't even know of him until his passing. I went and listened to a bunch of his songs and this guy was so freaking talented and was really making a change in his life. Everybody deserves that opportunity for change. Both albums are masterpieces in their own ways. 17 is incredibly elegant in how simple it is, and how it draws you into his mind space. ? Shows how versatile he is and putting him into the “rapper” category feels wrong. Not that he can’t rap, he can very well in fact, but he does so many other things so well.
Obviously I’ve listened to these albums before but I went into a wrong before. I was just looking for bangers. It’s a shame I can’t properly listen to a new X album.
