- A trip from October sailing to Gloucester, MA for a night. We visit Cape Ann Brewing, Short & Main and sail back early the next morning through strong winds.
Solitude is a 1987 Catalina 30 Mk II. She has the tall rig configuration, with a bowsprit.

Haha love your narration style and the music editing
Thanks - glad you like!
I'd rather have that wind than to power the entire way. Nice video.
Absolutely!
Another great vid. I really enjoy sailing with you because you do all the work.lol. If you need crew, I am available. Love your thoughts on my 24' Kittiwake (Seasprite class). Launching this spring of 18. Fair Winds and following seas.
Looks like a fun weekend! Good call not coming into Gloucester after dark in October: they like to store floating docks on those moorings! Ask me how I know...
I admire your faith in your dinghy's paddle attachment points; I tend to take those aboard when towing the dink.
See you out there!
Thanks TJ - indeed it was! I think had I arrived to floating docks, there's every chance I'd have concluded "marina for the price of a mooring" and just gone for it :D
The paddles are actually screwed into the oarlocks on this, so not much room for them to fall off - unless the oarlock vinyl delaminates altogether.. Famous last words!
In the dark the real trick is seeing the floating docks before you "arrive" at them!
