    For those using Bitwig, to be able to route ext. audio from each Atlas channel, make sure to "enable missing chains" inside of the Atlas device instance(it is not enabled by default). Then on another track(hybrid or audio), just like in Live, set the input from Atlas channel. Once you enable all VST audio channel on the Atlas device(or any multichannel VST instrument), each one gets a level, solo and mute functions. So the channels you do not want to go through the Atlas channel, you need to mute. Someone correct me if I am wrong on anything, but those are the basics.

    I was able to duplicate the steps similarly for Logic Pro, and it's impressive! I even dragged the kit from Atlas to the Drum Machine Designer, and it was able to drop them on each pad in order...wow! Been getting deep with Atlas over the last few days, and it's just an enjoyable tool to work with. Well done!

    Matt, you need an adequate padlock for the pads and audio output groups. What I wrote to you in my personal correspondence. It is also necessary that when using the randomizer, the pad with the lock does not change to random sounds! Extended control in the sequence is also needed.
    It is necessary that hotkeys can be assigned to Undo, Redo but not only MIDI CC or notes.
    You need the spacebar to start playback by default!
    Matt, these are basic things.
    Best regards from Russia;)

      @Noi3eOfficial Před 2 lety +1

      I 100% concur with this... All of the things @Corpu5 mentions here are glaringly obvious within the first playthrough I had with Atlas, also the padlock unlocks all locked pads when saving (This is a nightmare for workflow, having to lock certain pads immediately after locking them is a problem).
      I have a few suggestions for features but 1 stands out, it would be amazing if some sort of granular-per-pad engine were to be incorporated into the advanced tab, either per pad or as an overall engine for wav playback. This would be a game-changer!
      A smaller but needed suggestion would be for extended fx controls per pad e.g delay, chorus, reverb, phase, flange etc these built into the per-pad options would be another improvement to workflow.
      Superb AI incorporated plugin from the folks over at Algonaut, well done indeed! 👌🖤

    • @Algonaut
      @Algonaut Před rokem

      Interesting idea. Are you thinking this would be a property of the Sample or the Sequencer? Some people have asked for a quick way to add a sequencer note that's actually subdivided for quick rolls glitches. Or we could add loop points on the sample itself, that would be better for live playing or triggering from a DAW. (both are interesting!)

    • @petervoglmusic2517
      @petervoglmusic2517 Před rokem

      @@Algonaut I think subdividing the sequencer block/beat would be easiest and visually easy to see what you did. If done with the sample itself it would need a visual showing you have done this on the pad to make it easy to keep track of. If you chose this route an LFO or way to automate the rate would be ideal. I think Playbeat does this it very simply in the sequencer if I remember right...I love how you have taken the idea of sample browser, instrument rack, and sequencer and rolled them together. You folks have really thought this one through-the first time I saw Tom using it I realized how useful it would be.

    Question: Is there a way to route separate audio tracks through Atlas using Push 2/drum rack in Ableton?

    • @Algonaut
      @Algonaut Před 2 lety

      In Atlas you can change the Ext Out (external audio out) channel on the Sample panel. In Ableton on any Audio channel you can select one of the Atlas output channels as the input. Is that what you meant?

  • @rmcstay
    @rmcstay Před 2 lety

    Is there a way to quickly add tracks into Ableton for each sequencer channel rather than configuring them one by one like you do at 2:46? e.g., one track for the kick, one for the snare, one for the HH, etc. It seems strange that you can create a beat so quickly in Atlas but then have the configure channels one at a time in Ableton.

    • @mattweir8972
      @mattweir8972 Před 2 lety +1

      I would suggest setting it up once like your preference is, grouping it in Ableton, and then saving that group as an Ableton template. (drag the group into your Ableton Browser -> User Library -> Templates)

    When dragging my samples from Atlas to Ableton and also dragging the sequence over, it doesnt sound the same as when its in Atlas. I think its because the sound settings for each sample remain as the default sample. Is there a way of exporting the adjusted samples by rendering them similar to what XO does?

    • @Algonaut
      @Algonaut Před rokem

      Yes you're correct that it sounds different because it's the original samples that are being dragged out, I realise that's not ideal. Rendering the individual samples with the Atlas settings is really high on the list to get done. I'm hoping to have it all sorted in the next feature update.

    Is it possible to drag/export the processed (in Atlas reversed, gained, tuned etc.) kit/samples into your DAW like in XO?

    • @Algonaut
      @Algonaut Před 2 lety +2

      Not yet but it’s coming for sure. You can do a bit of a hack in the meantime by putting a single note on all the sequence channels and exporting as stems.

    • @morrisbachmann3559
      @morrisbachmann3559 Před 2 lety

      @@Algonaut Thank you that was so quick! This is such good news! I am aware that not all parameters can be processed into one shot files. All the advanced or variation parameters for example as they vary over time but all permanent parameters like gain etc. so that say if you drag your Atlas kit onto an Ableton Drum Rack for example it won’t sound any different to what you’re hearing in Atlas 2 given that you haven´t changed any of the variation parameters. Variation like velocity pitch and filter can then be done in Ableton 11 as well.
      Let me just say at this point I think the software is AMAZING especially since the upgrade to Atlas 2. It is lot of fun to play around and also really affordable. I actually felt the urge to send it to a lot friends and let everyone know about it so hopefully more people will buy it. I´m gonna be slightly annoying and ask a couple of more questions though so I hope that’s ok. I quite like some of the features in XO like the groove/swing knobs (I saw the shuffle knob in Atlas so that’s already great), the accentuator (can be done by drawing your own velocity curves in Atlas but I like the idea of doing accentuation for a whole drum loop), the beat combiner and the ability to swap whole kits that consist of similar samples with one click (I love the new bar in Atlas 2 with similar samples for single pads btw). Do you think you will integrate any of these features into Atlas at some point in the future? Another thing I thought would be cool is if you could upload your sequences and build a little community of people exchanging their sequences. Sorry for this massive text. And thanks again.

    • @mattweir8972
      @mattweir8972 Před 2 lety +1

      I'm not quite following sorry. If you want to have the MIDI output of Atlas go to an Ableton channel you'll need to do this:
      * Enable MIDI output in Atlas. (Settings -> Output -> MIDI Output)
      * In Ableton create a new MIDI channel and change 'MIDI from' to be Atlas. Set 'Monitor' to be 'in'.
      But that's outputting the Atlas sequencer MIDI. If you just want the MIDI that's going into Atlas you can do that in Ableton without worrying about Atlas. (set 'MIDI from' to be the MIDI channel you want to pull from)
