Our First Royal Caribbean Alaska Cruise | Fun Port Day in Sitka | NEW Main Dining Room Menu!!

- (Part Three) In today's video it's our first port of call in Sitka, Alaska but before the ship docks we woke up to breathtaking views right from the balcony. After breakfast at solarium bistro up on deck 14 we have to stop and get a shuttle time card to disembark the ship in Sitka because of the shuttle transportation to the downtown area. Once we make it off the ship it's time to enjoy the town for a few hours. After making it back aboard Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas it's time for a late lunch inside of Windjammer plus we spent a little bit of time enjoying more of the on board activities before taking a good ole cruise nap. Oh yeah, we also spotted some sea lions from the top deck which was awesome! It's now time for dinner inside the main dining room to check out the new menus and for this evening it's a taste of Asia. The opening scenes were so peaceful. For a moment, I thought you were going to give us some ASMR. The sights of the city were very laid back & not commercialized. I do enjoy this style of vlogging. It great to see Bianca so relaxed & natural for the camera. I’m happy you’re taking us to Alaska.
I’m from British Columbia so the Alaska cruises always look like home to me. You take it for granted when you grow up in the PNW, how beautiful it is. Nice to see other people discover and enjoy it.

Looking at the video, don't know if you had it, all seafood in Alaska is the best, but the salmon is one of the best I've ever had, the salmon bisque is the best ever, hope you got to try it

Years ago my husband and I took a Holland American Alaskan cruise. The "feel" was consevative and relaxed. We booked the trip through HA and the best decision. Our flight from New York was canceled due to weather,but when we heard (and paniced) we were instantly relieved to find HA rearranged our travel from New York to Juneo and kept tabs on us until we got to the ship!
We ended up eating almost all our meals on the Lido deck because we were dressed for our outdoor explorations. Food was great. In the main dining room, food and service was without fault. Best part, when we were by the glaciers, freezing on the deck, crew came around with hot brooth and drinks (some with a little extra!). While I enjoy up beat and high energy cruises, this just fit the laid back energy of Alaska.
Devin you do some of the best travel videos I’ve ever seen. I feel like I’m there with you. You and Bianca look so happy. Maybe the cold weather agrees with you two.

If you are looking for a local buy, just wait until you get to Juneau and Anchorage. It is coming from someone who is living in Anchorage.
That closing seen was awesome. Not sure what you used to shoot it but it was super clear and really captures the beauty of Alaska. Can't wait to see more to bring back my memories from last year when my wife and I went on Serenade of the Seas (RC)
I was on Quantum, Im guessing the week before you, and it was 86 degrees in Sitka when we were there lol. It didnt get cold until day 5 when we got to Juneau. I saw those candles.amd wanted to grab one but since candles are a prohibited item I didn't want to chance it getting confiscated. The Salmon jerky was actually really good. Thankfully we didnt have to get numbers to get off the ship when we were in Sitka. The water was so calm until our sea day on day 6 when we were headed to Victoria, it was so windy we couldnt dock. Hopefully you guys had better luck!

this is so cool. We actually went on the Ovation of the Seas this past week our stops were juneau, skagway, Endicott Glacier, and Victoria. It is nice to see your trip as well. We miss Alaska ❤

I just got back from a 9-day cruise with Alaskan Dream Cruises from Sitka to Ketchikan and can't recommend this enough. It has a maximum of 42 passengers and 20 crew. Amazing chef, Captain and crew.
Sitka recommendations
- Sitka National Historic Park (totem pole outdoor walk and museum)
- Harbor Mountain Brewing Company for some beer and pizza
- Ludvig Chowder Cart (sells out quickly for lunch)
- walking tour with Bill Purvis, a retired educator
- rent a car if you want to explore all 30 miles of roads and go hiking at Mosquito Cove on the beach and the Estuary
-Sheldon Jackson Museum is densely packed with Alaska Native items from 1880-1890. I spent 6 hours here.
- Sitka Pel'meni at 7:23 is delicious and filling
- Harry's Pharmacy for ice cream
Also, I learned from several local shop keepers that cruises don't promote local business that don't give them a kickback. Support local Alaskan businesses like Winter Song and restaurants like Beak. If you're going to pay for a meal upcharge you might as well get a fresh seafood local meal.
I also learned that unlike that many cruise towns that sell their souls to tourism and close in the summer afternoons and winter like Skagway and Ketchikan, many Sitka shops stay open year round. That's a good thing.
I love Alaska. Planning to go back soon.

Love the videos! We’re going on our first cruise to Alaska in July. I’ve read and watched in different blogs/vlogs to bring a pair of binoculars to spot whales, seals or eagles and other animals or mountain view’s from the ship.

Cruising the Inside Passage in May is certainly more affordable, but the weather can often be just as you see (cold & overcast).

This video so amazing about Alaska coast. Love it. Such so beautiful. I suggest you that you could go visit north of Anchorage because there will be called " Midnight Sun which is Fairbank and north. 24 hour no darkness. Let you know. By the way enjoy your Alaska cruise vacation.
