- The Annual Flower Festival takes usually place in spring but was postponed to September, so we are lucky to be here on Madeira to experience this colourful festival.

Lauza & Michael We really recommend the hike from Ribeiro Frio to Portela, it’s quite an end (around 11km) but very beautiful. I don’t know if you did the complete hike from Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo? We think it’s the most spectecular one, it was though but really worth the views.🤩 You’ve also been to Câmara de Lobos? Nice to stroll over there and spot the recycled street art. Also nice to have a drink there near the beach. Enjoy! 🙏🏼

Hi Lauza and Michael, I love the videos you are making about Madeira, beautiful and informative. Thanks for that! I love also the slow travel style that you are adopting, a good way to discover a country is to live normal life with the locals plus you can keep your full time job and finance your journey the way you like it. My husband and I are thinking of escaping the long Canadian winter and stay for 2 months in Madeira. Can you please make a video about the cost of living there, I am not talking about housing because one could find prices in Airbnb or other sites but I am talking about the cost of vegetables, fruits, seafood, meat, grocery, public transport, gas, etc. Also it would be good if you recommend cheap options. Thanks again and enjoy your journey 😊

It seems that we missed the flower festival by one day so it was nice to see it on your channel.
The flower festival goes until September 27, and I believe there should be performances every weekend until then, just in case you are still here on the island.

Although it happened in a totally different time that it used to,( normal time would have a lot more season flowers) but hey we live in different times these days so I hope you still enjoyed it.
