Man good thing I had this halfway finished XD anyway rosie was alot of fun to think about though I find her the most boring design out of the HH universe her past info and current info made thinking about her and the possibilities so much more fun for me also at some point I will be making introduction videos on all the overhaul casts how I've planned this to go is I will explain what I'm doing premise wise and talk about the world building then I'll introduce who stayed and there roles and the last video will be made similar to a pitch bible where I'll story show shots of what I'd like to happen this will all probably be 3 videos plus some extras it wont be a comic or re write it's more a what if hazbin was my idea first kinda thing XD

I wander if a redesign for Alcina Dimitrescu and her Daughters could take cues from this.
The real problem between the animation of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss is the color atmosphere, the background is too bright and it lacks the balance between dark (mostly goth) atmosphere. Also too much red and pink that are being too bright can be become really generic for the fantasy horror shows and movies. Colors can be symbolized a positive emotions, but it give a negative emotions too. Am I right?
It drove me crazy when Charlie acted like she had never seen Cannibal Town before, she literally sang about it in the first song in the first episode

If you're literal domain had a **cannibal** town, you think you'd be able to remember it??
For me charle talk like she never been in the town. She heard the town but never step in. That what i got.
More likely due to the typical restrictions on attire there , she only walked around the very edges of Cannibal Town when needed. She was also very highly distracted due to personal issues, so she only looked up after Alastor lead her directly to the dead center of the CT.
I feel if a town known to attack those not properly dressed for it, you wouldn't realize you were in it if no one even came close to you while you're in a daze.
Back then, woman used to have hats with taxidermied birds as decoration. I think it was a more victorian thing to do, but having Rosie embalm some of her victims remais is such an endearing thing to think about!

OMG, Loved that movie as a kid, Especially with the songs and they were so sweet and just loved the characters’s wooden designs, it reminded me of a video game called “ Puppeteer” a lot.
Book of life did really have such a unique style and I've been watching that movie since the age of 6 still in love with it to this day

Book of Life is SO UNDERRATED.
Mixing teeth with roses is actually a nice subtle nod to the fact that roses, specifically their stems, have thorns.
Also, she gives me La Muerte vibes, which I'm going bonkers for cause her design is just chef's kiss.
I really wished they had a design leaning into a more hellborn designs we see in other creatures. I love how there’s more of a vibrant red on Rosie’s dress and more of a cannibal theme to her design. It really makes her standout!
This design makes her look like an actual overlord and not just some lady which I appreciate.
If I may suggest, I think the gloves being the same red on the end of the sleeve would look like arterial spray.
I just had an idea! What if Rosie was a matchmaker, but instead of someone who matches couples, she matches her cannibals to possible "meals"

Yeah this is also one thing that peeves me about the show designs like- the present overlords and their designs SUCK and they just feel basic compared to the previous overlords that Alastor took down

For her being a character you apparently didn’t give much thought initially, I absolutely LOVE this redesign. One of my favorites you’ve done for sure alongside Devil Dust!

I love how committed you are to giving Hell-borns eldritch, ambiguous elements to their designs. It creates a uniquely horrifying aesthetic without relying on blood or audience interpretation of what lies in the shadows. This design has so much life and static personality to the point that I can already hear the subtle vocal effect and audible, squelching walk that this Rosie could have if animated.
as a rosie enjoyer (because for some reason i have a fascination with cannibal history and characters) and horror fanatic this redesign is ABSOLUTELY my favorite redesign you've done so far. every aspect is absolutely perfect to me, the dress, the hat, the hair... words cannot describe how in love i am with this redesign. KUDOS!!
Oh my god, thank you for making her more historically accurate! The show's absolute refusal to make historically accurate designs is so effing frustrating to me. Your Rosie is so unique and creepy looking, she's honestly perfect! I especially like the skirt's design, it's very creative! It's such a big inspiration, along with all your other works!
Also side note: It's maybe just me, but I'm kinda disappointed with the variety of the show when it comes to era based characters. Like, almost every sinner we know died in the 20th century (with the exception of Sir P., Velvette and probably Zestial), and even those don't stick to their era's fashion. I kinda wish there was more variety in death dates, and heck, even cultures of origin. Sorry for the rambling, fashion history is my passion.
Me too and what sucks there is some space since niffty and husk died around the 50s and 70s yet having nothing to show for it but yeah all the characters share to much or are to close in time though charlie and Lucifer have no excuses XD also ahhhhh Zestial how can such a cool sounding character look so wonky like hes hella old just they made his whole thing being a scary flasher bat WHAT
@@LovesArt23Yeah, Zestial especially irks me. I heard from someone that version of English he uses was spoken during the 14-15 century. A renaissance design for him would have been so interesting (or maybe an early baroque look, since many associate his version of English with Shakespeare). But instead we got another guy with a top hat. I've been contemplating on making my own redesign for him to be honest, because I can't stand the oldest known overlord as another Vivzie top hat™ wearing dude.

I freaked out when I saw the sketch before you started doing the lineart because holy shit this is what she was missing!!! She has such a blah design, she could easily be a background character. Nothing indicates she is an overlord. But THIS!!?? It's so extravagant and avant-garde, she feels powerful just by giving her a glance. This is Rosie!!
Rosie just like your Alastor looks more old fashioned yet fleshy and sinister befitting to someone coming from the most sinister and dangerous location in the pride ring, hence why her strongly well-adjusted personality felt off to me.
If there's something I love with this Rosie it's her skeleton-like appearence!
I used to think she looked this way because it refered to "Dios de los Muertos" but... When I learnt she was actually British I was confused...
But here! It's the main theme!
The skeleton mixed with the flesh on the hat reminds me of a rotting cadaver buried under a rose bed! It's amazing!
And since she's a cannibal the flesh theme is even more brilliant! I assume she's the Overlord of Gluttony!
Rosie had been confirmed to not be a hellborn, her being a hellborn was originally said by someone who is no longer part of the crew, when asked in the post finale interview vivzi confirmed that Rosie is indeed a sinner.

Pretty sure this is now my favorite Hazbin/Helluva character re-design. Before the show came out, I was personally really excited to see Rosie in the show. When I saw her in it, I thought she was okay, but I admit the hype died down as she wasn't nearly as creepy as I thought she'd be. I mentioned this because your design pushed all the right buttons on the creep factor! The bones and teeth flaring out make her look more predatory, the fleshy parts make her look more grotesque, and her sickly skin gives me much more monstrous vibes. It's just a really competent and solid design that communicates much more Hellish energy, so great job!
God I am in love with this cannibal chic you went with for Rosie!! It fits her so well! And I love how imposing she looks- She definitely could have that sweet motherly side, but most sinners would be too scared to approach her because she literally looks like she’s wearing her last meal!
An idea for Rosie's personality: she might have a strong culinary curiosity, which in her case means that every time she meets a new type of demon (example: a TV demon like Vox) she will want to know what it tastes like. Which means that after her first meeting with Charlie (who is half demon and half angle), Rosie would like a bit (or a bite) of Charlie's Blood as payment.
Oh and for worldbulding, I would see the existence of hell bees which politicize demonic flowers, but they do not gather nectar but tears, which means that they are also attracted by other creatures ( I was inspired by the butterflies in the Amazon who drink the tears of turtles and caimans to obtain their minerals).

Despite Hazbin being about Charlie using her hotel to redeem sinners, it’s not explored enough
In my opinion, the series seem to focus in lore of characters and other major plot points than the hotel itself. Like I enjoy the story, but no one has even bothered to visit Charlie’s hotel for 5 months. That would be plenty of time to introduce side characters 😭😭😭
But love what you did with Rosie. I don’t mind her personality since her being a motherly figure made sense to me, since cults act nice and hospitable to lure new members or prey, but I didn’t like how that’s what we’re introduced to when we meet Rosie
Anyway, super excited to hear about the Overhaul au soon, especially Fonda lol(I’m in love with his hat).

I'm in awe with this design! She looks so elegant yet unnerving! With the bones, teeth, and organs she has on her outfit(That she probably has to replace every now and again from one of her citizens she has eaten)
She definitely looks more like an overlord than some regular hellborn citizen!

She's everything I could've wanted out of an Edwardian era demon + classy cannibalistic queen. I'm having difficulty pinpointing all of the things I love, but I think my favorite details are the eyeball-teeth roses and the black tendrils. Love that gore & viscera are literally apart of her DNA.
This redesign you gave her gives me Other Mother vibes from Coraline and now I'm imagining her scaring the shit outta the cast bc of it lmaoooo
Also it's alright to not have to do redesigns for the other characters if you're not up for it tho. Cuz having so many characters to redesign pretty much takes the fun out of doing them

She looks really pretty. The colors are similar to her original look but by tweaking them and rearranging the placement of the colors you have made her stand out greatly I don’t think this version will get lost even in a red environment. I like the roses and more fantastical elements to her design and I agree I do wish that there was more hellish elements to the characters. I understand modern sinners dressing in more normal looking clothes but the only ones that seem to stand out at all are the animal sinners and even then it’s not that much. Can’t wait to see what you create next.

I wish helluva boss would try to get out of that BRIGHT RED and black with stripes combo like this is perfect i would love to see more unique colors and character designs. Tho i do understand it takes a long time and its for simplisitic reasons BUT STILLLL!!!

Ugh if only Roise was hellborn it would have made her interesting and given the pride ring a hell species. They said she’s not since the cannibal kid was shown being attack by Vaggie making, them all be sinners. I’m only guessing the instagram and comics aren’t canon anymore, but oof they need to put some of this info in the show. Feel like the show is more of a game theory type lore where you have to dig and piece together things, which could work if it was a game. Not a show 😅.
Anyway, I’m eating this design! It’s so gory and beautiful which makes it so cool. If more demons had a more darker edge to them it would separate them from sinners a lot more. Wonderful work!

When I saw Rosie in the Pilot episode, I thought she was going to be this mean and rude woman but, in the Amazon Prime series she's actually a nice woman
7:26 this gave me the idea that maybe rosie would have a big distorted stomach, which would allude to the weird style of dresses back then. It could be due to her eating yk, flesh and other not-so-easy to digest stuff which would form a big mass in her stomach, which then would in turn cause her to become malnourished bc the mass was obstructing her intestines, not allowing her to properly absorb the nutrients (if there is any nutrients in demon flesh). i think it would add an interesting dynamic to her character, and maybe how she (and other cannibals as well) deal with "expelling" the bones and other gore they've ingested. after they had "cleansed" themselves they would become famished, as their stomachs were now empty, and they would go on a rampage and eat everything/everyone in sight, starting the cycle all over again.
anyway, completely random and kinda obscure idea, but thought i would share! love the vid and redesigns!!!

This looks so good! I love the meaty and bone accents on her dress. I think it would be cool if the cannibal colony made their clothes out of the left over skin and flesh of the demons they’ve eaten.

Wow! She looks absolutely amazing. I especially love the rose elements and I'm so happy that she actually looks like a cannibal. Using bones and actual flesh in her clothes truly shows how demonic she is and honestly as a Christian it's important that the demonic characters actually look demonic otherwise how is it hell. Anyways rambling aside, I can't wait to see what you have in store for the Overhaul. I bet it'll be awesome from what I've seen so far. Looks promising. Keep up the great work! 💕
Thank you and right I want hell to feel like hell probably why I love the Hellraiser designs so much and even though hellboy is a mix of all kinds of creatures and lore I still think they did an amazing job with the hellish nature of the characters they made

One question I had about your Overhaul is that are God and Christ going to be a part of it? Vivziepop said she's not going to put them in her's a long time ago because she doesn't want to disrespect the religion but I'm not sure if she'll stick to that or not. While I do like how Vizie desgined Rosie it really just keeps pointing out Vizies issues. As an artist I get it, draw whatever you like and if that's characters in outfits that all have very similar styles and themes to them then great but as a writer you're characters should look different, be dynamic and all.

Hi, thanks to you I've learned a lot of chaaracter design! The only problem I have now is that I cannot accept anything less than perfection when I design a character. Just a question: is it me or I am the only one who experiments with my own hairstyles and clothing in order to create a design for a character? Because I feel that everyone follows the same steps and that I should do the same.
